Handicappers Corner

Welcome to our one week old website that is here to stay for a very long time. We are excited to announce that we now own Top Turf Today which we have been using for the past 3 years for our source for superior figures and trip notes on California grass races. Our handicapper does the figure making for Top Turf Today so obviously his knowledge of it's use is at the highest level. Quite a plus for The Racing Digest members.

If anyone has interest in purchasing Top Turf  Today it can be purchased at 1/2 the regular price if you are a current or fairly recent "Digest" member.

Top Turf Today is only useful to folks who have at least an average level of handicapping ability. It is not a selection service like this publication.

We would appreciate it if any of you know any trainers, owners, or handicappers to please let them know about Top Turf Today. We feel strongly it would help them immensely. And it is a bargain compared to similar products that are out there.

Feel good about this pick 3 part wheel which starts in the 6th race    4, 5 with 1, 3, 7, 9 with 1, 9, 10    24 bets

Race 1    average clarity

4  Paulasahorseonya   very aggressive work tab for a low priced maiden claimer and Rosario / Walsh have been a red hot team together over the past couple of months

3  Flashy Traveler   often makes an early turn move so the shortened five furlong sprint distance can help.....positive rider switch

5  Brooke Girl   MSW layoff drop down seems well worked and is being sent out by the hot Cerin barn...very dangerous if has enough speed to compete at the speed friendly five furlong distance

Race 2   above average clarity

8  Camisado   two big positive factors for this gelding.....he's got at superior record when running at the bottom claiming level and he's a consistent closer in a race seemingly loaded with speed

5  General Dan   very sharp horse right now for a hot barn....but he prefers the front end and will probably need to take back some which he has shown he can do in the past...if not he's probably cooked

3  Absoute Glory   race sets up for his closing style....seems to like the Pro-ride surface....barn sure could use a win

6  Film Fortune   race four back fits versus these just fine...positive rider switch.....solid 7F drill suggests he's feeling pretty good

Race 3    below average clarity

1  Spanish Bunny   most of career fits versus this weak looking bunch but not the best of work patterns for this laid up filly....but then again Sutherland usually gets live mounts from Abrams

8  Torrey Cliffs   all 3 turf efforts fit well in this soft group...would have been top pick if it wasn't for the  32  0  0  6  record for the trainer...hard to count on a barn that has no wins or 2nd place finishes in 32 starts

2  Warren's Royal Mom   needed last off of the year hiatus away from racing...and the barn has a solid record when removing the blinkers like today

5  Harbor Ready   maiden debut was a useful looking sprint prep for today's 1st run on the sod....bred to appreciate a route of ground and the grass

Race 4    average clarity

7  Brewha Baby   on the right end of the learning curve at GG....works are as strong as it gets for a bottom level filly claimer...sure seems well meant and ready

9  Princess Susan M   earned a substantial fig in last with not the best of trips....hot trainer/rider combo...work series is reassuring this mare is still doing reasonably well

4  Fiona Freud   needed last which was quite good in its own right and there's a good chance we will see more today from this Eastern invader

3  Oakhill Girl   good chance to sit close in a race that doesn't have that many speed types....might show more 2nd out after the layoff as well

Race 5    average clarity

1  Tamerin   all three lifetime sprint grass races are better than par for today's level.....race lacks speed and he has it....not the best of posts down the hill but Rosario rides and knows this mare well

9  Sleep Tight   Mitchell looks live with both our top choice and this gal....he takes a very logical drop with this mare who has been running well versus better but hasn't won in quite some time

3  Carnival Queen   not so sure exiting the AW for the grass is the smartest of moves for this mare who has improved on the synthetic...but I'm not her trainer and she does handle the sod...should be closing fast late

5  Triple Star   impressive 1st in the U S of A run for this NZ invader....good likelihood moves forward considering she hadn't run since May

Race 6    above average clarity

4  Witty   all three lifetime races are outstanding including wins against Carlsbad and Lady Lumberjack...only the long layoff may hurt but she sure fired fresh in her lifetime debut

5  Made For Magic   sharp mare was only beaten by 5 lengths in a Grade 1 with a somewhat wide trip...continues to train well

3  U R All That I Am   jock fits horse well.....good history when this filly runs on relatively short rest

Race 7   average clarity

3  The Town Lady   one of Hollendorfer's biggest keys is 1st time in his barn and this filly sure is training sharply since he took over

9  Samatha's Rule   good history for today's jock....very strong effort in last versus a very tough foe

7  Kristen's Lil Lady   Yakteen likes to fire 2nd time out after he takes over a horse...that's today's scenario.....nice close into a soft pace in last

1  Always In Style   needed last off of the long layoff and has a good shot to move forward.....draws outside so Talamo will have to get clever to give this mare a ground saving trip.....will have as good a shot as anyone if he gets her on over to the 1 or 2 path on turn 1

Race 8    above average clarity

9  Led Advantage   earned a powerful fig in last with a bad trip.....freshened up off of a 2 month break with strong reassuring drills that say she's the same animal

1  Press The Point   also earned a strong number with a bad trip albeit in a sprint....bred fine to handle long ...barns been cold but should awaken here

10  Mini's Command   somewhat hidden last (loose on a dull inside that would do any mdn claiming filly in).........impressive bullet drill since...hot trainer.....can be prominent throughout

2  Diamonds Wild   only race on the AW fits at this level if she can reproduce it or better at a route

6  Lisa Lulu   only route endeavor on the synthetic was decent...will need to move forward a little to compete for the top prize
