Handicappers Corner
Let's hope Jorge Gutierrrez has one heck of a day since we selected him on top in 3 races today. In fact our top pick offers rather good value all day long.
Â
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
7 Word Association  only race on the SA surface was her best ever...very consistent sort for a maiden claimer
5 Royally Large  sizzling hot trainer the past week.....best ever was run fresh in maiden debut......fresh today with solid works
4 Dubai Macau Girl  goofy ride in last (z pattern).....solid maiden debut 2 back.....positive rider switch
6 Warren's Moon  best early speed in this spot unless one of the two 1st timers has speed.....tired late at today's distance in her last....may not today
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
5  Brenthurst  earned a substantial fig (very bad trip) for this level on Top Turf Today in only grass race......nice works....shortening up from route races to a hill course race is usually a smart maneuver
2 Lamm  also shortens up from a route turf run......high percentage trainer/rider combo lately...closed nicely into a soft pace in only hill run Â
4 Boyoboy  small barn is good 1st out after the claim and they sure have this colt training as though they have improved him....1st on the turf but bred OK for it Â
Â
race 3   average clarity
7 Warren's Tony R.  last sure appears as if it was the tune-up to be full throttle today with a significant jockey change for his 2nd out after the layoff
3 Bandeira Union  only race going long on the Pro-ride fits in this spot and it occurred 3rd out after the layoff coming off 2 grass races.....same scenario todayÂ
2 Tiger Blitz  rounding into form and the 5 lbs off with the top apprentice should help
4 Oliver  drops to try and gain a competitive advantage...barn could use a win
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
2 Lucks Mine   not much more to say than M Smith wired the field with this colt in his last 2 sprints and he looks loose in this spot
4 Kuro  learning the racing game with every start and never worked any better....think we will see best ever today
1 Keen Bidder  James Lloyd barn has been hot of late and he has had a good history with his overseas purchases for his barn and others...raced mostly at the better racetracks in GB
Â
race 5Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
8 Havens Lake  blocked badly in her last and sure ran like a fit horse when free.....previous race made a good showing in a key fast heat....2 reassuring works since her last
2 Global Inspiration last looks like the obvious gimme for today's drop......good chance to get a nice chase position behind a suspect leader.....gets 7 lbs off with top apprentice up and in for 7K
1Â Princess Susan MÂ Â wide trip in last versus slightly better and takes another drop.....seems healthy enough...good rider/trainer combo
5 Rockin Rose  last race wasn't too bad but what we want to see is the effort 3 back which was at today's 6 furlong distance
Â
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
5 Warrens Paddockguy  solid move forward in 2nd lifetime start for a barn that has been getting the job done...think we will see even more today
8 Cat Brando  decent breeding for this Cal bred 1ster....good trainer/rider team with 1st timers over the last couple of years....work series suggests he's pointed to be ready for his entry into the racing world
1 Camicory  50 to 1 in the morning line this 3rd time starter is hidden ....broke a little tardy and raced wide in debut and only got beat by 3 1/2....then dueled in substantial pace on a dull inside which would do anyone in....solid works since...come on Sutherland bust out of your slump
7 Speedy Marini  bred to be a decent sprinter....like the fact they shipped in from the desert after some decent drills training at Tup
Â
race 7Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
5 Welken  the epitome of consistency and especially at 1 mile...6 starts 3 wins and 3 seconds......2 excellent races since Mitchell claimedÂ
1 Damaniyat Girl  earned a better than par fig for this level with a bad trip in his 1st run in the good old U S of A......blinkers on and the 1 post should help him sit close up as he usually did running in GB
3 Eclair De Lune  French invader owned by the man that made Arlington Park into a palace seems like a dangerous invader  who liked to sit on or near the lead in France which seems like a good thing in this spotÂ
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
4 Warren's Tommy Too  nice move forward in 2nd lifetime start.....caught solid fields in both lifetime races
9Â Casa OÂ Â just missed in maiden debut at this level and the strong works since suggest he may really appreciate 1st time blinkers today
10 Serious Form  another who just missed in debut....that race was at 5 1/2 F......many in here have proven they can handle 7F he still needs to or I would have rated him higher
8 Who's Your Widady  poor start and ran wide in his return to the race wars...a smoother trip and any move forward and he would be as competitive as anyone in here
5 Nathaniel  decent return run after the long layoff...nice work tab since suggests we may see more in today's race
