Del Mar for Friday 6 August 2010

Handicappers Corner

Good looking late afternoon card. Not one race rated below "average clarity".

race 1    average clarity

4  Details R Sketchy    just missed by a nose in 2009 at Dmr at 5F and that was with a 10 month layoff.....seemingly very fit and the barn is hot

5  Amazombie   sure has handled the outer-most post with 2 straight wins from it....ironically draws it for a 3rd straight time....curtains for for some horses but noy this fellow

race 2    above average clarity

6  Miss Picaboo   exits a very fast heat in a mid priced maiden claimer that fits well in a MSW affair....claimed and training great

1  Russian River   showed a solid close in his lone race back in Jan at FG......1st time today Mitchell in 2nd lifetime starts and the work pattern says he's ready

4  Swift Beauty   nice work series says ready enough to in his debut into the world of racing

race 3    above average clarity

5  The Great Atlantic   very strong turf sprint in last and bred fine to handle a mile....solid reassuring drill as well...that Rosario kid isn't too shabby

2  Motel Stroll  strong stats for the invading trainer with shippers....looks like he can beloose on the the lead

1  Melbisha   very consistent sort responses well for Rosario....had lots of pace to close into in his last...will he get enough to today?

race 4    average clarity

3   Binky's Sister   good chance can be prominent thru-out on or near the lead.....like the cut back in distance by 1/2 furlong....15 to 1 morning line doesn't seem too accurate...my guess is 10 to 1 is more like it

7   Gavita   decent debut at a very sizable price....can sit close and will be formidable if moves forward at all

6  Dancing Lauren   should be all set to move forward 2nd out after a layoff....but....decent closer may be compromised by what appears to be a lack of pace in the race

9  Mo Cheese   long hiatus from the race wars but lots of foundation in his works suggest he's ready......both 2008 sprints fit well versus this bunch

race 5    average clarity

2  Look To The Sky   claimed and given a break in the action and she is training as if it did a world of good....Miller is sending them ready to roll at Dmr

1  Ten's Salty Sally   earned a big fig at 7F with a wide trip in her last......previous was rather strong as well....1st at a route and bred to handle it

8  Pokomoke   good strong move forward in last.....seems somewhat better sprinting but then again she is sharp ant this in only a 1 mile two turn affair

4  Wood Art   significant drop down in claiming price seems logical....barn is off to a good Dmr start

race 6    average clarity

3  Dr. Chen   on the improve with every start....pressed a strong pace on a dull inside in last....very positive rider switch today for this price shot

4  Peanut Butter   bad trip in last hides a major improvement....solid reassuring drill since

9  Uncle Greg  drops a little off the claim but Rosario stays aboard......late runner seemingly gets ample pace to close into

7  It's Superman   solid return off of a 10 month layoff.....good shot with any move forward and a good ride from the low % apprentice

race 7    above average clarity

6  Final Mesa   3 different tracks....3 crushing wins....only neg I can fine is W Ward's weak history in Graded races

4  Izshelegal   impressive closing run in his lifetime debut and it was in a Stakes race....most likely will get ample pace to lose into in this affair

7  Wickedly Perfect   strong win in her MSW debut last......solid 6F work just 6 days ago appears to have her on edge for today

1  She'll Heir   on the improve with every start and appears to be training better than ever

race 8    average clarity

1  Cenizo   needs 1 to 2 months off and gets it...appears very sharp in the morning especially for this level

7  Pretty Kinzie   strong late runner goes back to Rosario who really seems to be a great match with this filly

5  Precious Song   takes a logical drop and O'Neill's horse's all seem to be firing hen he uses Gihua in the saddle

3  Shine'n Time   solid race in last versus older and it was a solid group of cheap older claimers

2  Dos Vientos   new barn takes over and Eurton has put a solid set of drills into this filly...seems ready to show more
