Oak Tree @ Hollywood for Saturday 23 Oct 2010

[private]

After 2 stellar days of handicapping by yours truly I'd be shocked if I had another top notch day today ( 10 top choice winners in 16 races run)....but then again if it's a difficult card for me I imagine it is the same for others. It is a market place after all.

I do like this recommended wager quite a bit.

9th race trifecta boxes  1,3,8  1,4,8  1,5,8    18 bets

race 1    average clarity

3  Cafe Con Leche   multiple impressive sprint races on the AW and the turf especially considering the level most of his races were run at

4  Buyers Remorse   trainer/rider have been a hot commodity as a team....horse is fresh and that has been a good thing in the past

race 2    slightly above avg clarity

4  Joe Carl   on the improve so smartly steps up a notch......really appreciates running on the Hol synthetic surface

2  Gentle Romeo   owns blistering sprint speed and should be very dangerous if he can throttle down early to stay the 1 1/16 mile distance

1  Kanan Dume   believe lightly used jock is 3 for 3 in the win column thru Thurs night racing.....gelding can get a nice ground saving distance chase position

race 3    average clarity

5  Chapman's Peak   set stellar fractions in last and still only tired to get beat by 1 1/2 lengths....seemingly log gone unless one or both of the 2 1sters have speed

2  Private Bounty   solid move forward in 2nd lifetime race....caught our top pick late in his last race benefiting from the aforementioned nasty pace...will he get it today?

race 4    slightly below average clarity

1  Plantsite   major league pace wake up at Fpx in last.....similar effort today will have him prominent thru-out and tough in the stretch

2  Summers At Delmar   last would make him the one to beat in this spot....but.....he sure is in drop mode....4th straight drop

3  Nepobedimiy   GG invader is route turf fit which is usually a solid plus when attempting to get the extended 1 turn distances

race 5    average clarity

2  Alert Rocket   rather sure the strategy here (especially with the 1 post and P Val) is to break cleanly-get loose-and discourage a weak looking field-wire to wire shot

7  Big Son Of a Gun   solid sprint improvement in 2nd lifetime race....good reassuring work since.....OK route pedigree

1,1a  Entry   both 1 and 1a showed some life in their maiden debuts....barn has a decent history 1st at a route of ground

3  Regroup   trainer is hot and this colt just worked a vastly improved 5/8ths......may be able to get a nice chase position with a clean break

race 6   average clarity

2  Via Verde   solid layoff last and a very reassuring work since...top notch rider/trainer combo

4  John Eli   good work series hints at a rebound....decent just to receive a solid pace up front to aid his closing style

5  Camicory   horse's figs fig OK but somewhat weary of staying the extended 1 turn distance of 7 1/2 F

race 7    average clarity

6  Holloween Candy   has raced solidly versus better.....slightly concerned she's up for claiming again but why not...the barn claimed her for 25K...can't fall in love with your horse

3  Cruzin Topless   barn is solid 1st after the claim....good work in preparation for today

5  Warren's Moon   on the correct end of the learning curve....1st ever on the sod but seemingly bred OK for it

7  Akeela   very sharp on the AW right now....barn opts for the turf...lone turf race was poor.....give her 1 more try on it

race 8    slightly below average clarity

3  Mckenzies Way   race lacks speed and I believe this speed worked colt has a chane to get loose...........and........go.....all......the.........way

6  Clubhouse Rules   visually impressive middle rush move in winning his last which was in a Stakes affair at Fpx....consistent animal a plus

5  Road Ready   positive rider switch and a sizzling 5/8ths drill...can be up close in a race without a lot of pace

race 9    above average clarity

1  Orangeblackandgold   very impressive turf sprints back East and not facing a very strong looking group

8  Blondies Bling  earned a solid fig on the AW in MSW debut....new barn and a very positive rider switch.....blinkers on and training well...bred OK to handle the grass

5  Born Flirt  1ster of Sadler is trainer as if she is "well meant" in her MSW debut

4  Town Belle  1ster has solid turf sprint breeding and shows signs of life in the morning

3  Rachelle Jones   running just OK in races on the AW but Smarty Jones is a hot new turf sire....mildly dangerous animal 1st on the sod
