Oak Tree @ Hollywood for Saturday 30 Oct 2010
[private]
In cooperation with Top Turf Today The Racing Digest will be selling  audio emails of all the Breeders Cup races thanks to a strong interest from our client base and others. Each B C race will have its own email and will be available the night before. want to  Sign up is now available. Please sign up asap as it will help me coordinate things more easily. Thank you.
It is important to note that we will place online in our regular format (with the California picks) our favorite (one) B C play for each day.Â
It was raining at the track before dawn so of course pay attention to any track bias that may exist today. Also, we do know that they are protecting their grass course and may yank some or all the races off of the turf.
Â
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
4 My Summer Slew  scenario is that 1 and 3 knock heads and this gelding comes from far back to take it
1 Cost Of Freedom  has handled the 1 post well in the past.....obviously needs to avoid a suicidal speed duel with the 3 horseÂ
Â
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
4 Clubhouse Rules  clunker in last but her effort 2 back wouldwin the majority of 2 year old MSW statebred races run...works support a rebound
5 Going Foe A Spin  useful debut and we get a positive rider switch to Bejarano (well not if he rides like last night....didn't hit the board in 6 mounts...when is the last time you saw that?)
1 Zenidekka  last race trip: broke 6 lengths slow and blocked 1 length with a soft half mile to try to close into......clean trip today would make her the one to beat if she shows the same effort
8 A Golden Jet  no Bobby Hull but did flash some early speed in her MSW debut....works are good since...good shot to move forward
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
2 Arresting Officer  best set of drills for a Cal Bred 1ster from Mitchell in some time...ready and seemingly faces a soft bunch
6 Kalya Cat  another 1st timer training up to snuff...good MSW spot for debut
1 Shelter Cove  open company 2nd in last but it is tough to judge in that the pace was very slow and it was switched to the main track from the turf course during the week of phantom rain at Hollywood
Â
race 4   average clarity  off the turf 3-8-4-1
7 Ruination  owns blistering turf speed and can get away
5 I Can Hear  very solid race 2 back which was 2nd out after the layoff....same maneuver today
4 U R All That I Am  favorite is the animal you would most want to own in this field but she hasn't put much work in since her dirt win at Fpx...might be vulnerable today
8 La Nez   only grass race is fine....works are much improved....would have rated higher if it wasn't for the outer-most post
Â
race 5Â Â Â average clarity
7 Lady Railrider  good shot to get a nice chase position behind a suspect leader in the 1 horse...highly consistent...good N Cal rider up
2 Warren's Jitterbug  last race on the AW was in a Grade 1 and only got beat by 3/4 of a length...we liked her that day and she looks even better in this spot...same turf to dirt scenario
6 Ultra Blend  also will look to get a chase position and run down the front runner
Â
race 6   slightly below average clarity  off the turf 8-3-2-9
1 The Unusual One  owns solid early speed on the sod...6 furlongs looks like a good fit
2 Urban Hunter showed life in MSW debut last.....a move forward seems likely....new sire has been producing turf runners
8 Crispy Corey  in good form and has a good turf pedigree
3 Short Memo  1ster is training well enough to be considered ready for his MSW debut...Walsh has been getting it done all Fall
Â
race 7   average clarity  Â
3 Warren's Flyer  exits a fast heat and it was versus the boys....bit leery of her getting the distance but she sure handled 2 turns in a Fpx sprint winning by 9 lengths
6 California Nectar  figures in her 1st 2 races are very strong...last was not but she did win in hand late...route breeding is not stellar but good enough for a Cal Bred
7 Swiss Wild Cat consistent sort and handled a 2 turn 7F sprint...proven 2 turns and that is half the battle
1 Warren's Idol  plenty to prove but all signs point to P Val sending this speedball to the front and she may be considered as the cheap horse not to worry about...shot to wire if that happens and she rates a little
Â
race 8   average clarity   off the turf  5-1-6
4 Jiggly  wide with pace in last hides her 1st grass somewhat...also like the 4 lbs off
3 Colgan's Chip  has been very sharp since mid Summer......recent bullet drill suggests Sahadi continues to do a solid job of keeping this gelding formful
5 Bruce's Dream  talk about performing his whole career....Joe T is 2 for 2 on the horse and up today
Â
race 9   average clarity Â
2 Enriched  last time returned form the Bluegrass State Enriched won by 9..."there's no place like home...there's no place like home"
7 Cayambe  fab work by Victor Garcia with this gelding since he snatched for 25K...sure appears to have found a new home and it is called "route racing"
4 My Boy Walsh  horse appears to fire best back in short rest and especially back quick turf to dirt...price shot might surprise
1 Unusual Suspect  will come roaring late if more pace than anticipated materializes
Â
race 10Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
8 Luckarack  tossed a clunker in last but the Specht barn is stellar in non-Graded Stakes and this colt just worked a very strong mile at GG....rebound time
6 Slammer Time  on the improve with every start,,,breeding suggests he can handle the AW...must turf horses do
3 Bluegrass Reward  only route race on the AW is decent...GG barn is very successful with shippers
5 Woodman's Luck  barn is solid 1st at route and the horse has a pedigree that says he will appreciate a route of ground
1 Contemplated  5 wide trip and still won his MSW debut......needs to move forward and needs to handle a route but has the kind of connections that can handle the task
