Hollywood for Thursday 2 December 2010
[private]
What is with the 1st race: Last 18 1st races: 11 wins, 6 2nd's, 1 3rd
race 1 slightly above average clarity
1 Star Presence both route endeavors are significant figs that would win 85% of races run at this level
4 Bluegrass Cutter exits a solid sprint MSW affair in last and is training great since......trainer is competent 1st time at a distance
race 2 average clarity
7 Call The River healthy or not....that is the question......suspicious drop out of MSW to the bottom but Gaines is in a win mode so why not
1 Forward Commitment last 2 races at Hol are solid and the trainer is hot
2 Tale Of The Bat consistent sort will need very best to take this if the top 2 picks run their "A" game
race 3 slightly above average clarity
2 Teddy's Promise bred better for one turn affairs so turn back in distance can get this filly back to her big sprint run 2 races back.....solid drill is reassuring
4 Yellow Sticker fresh horse is 2 for 2 fresh and won both races with not the best of trips
race 4 average clarity
1 Cat Brando exits a very fast heat in last which I believe was a tune-up to be full throttle for today's route race...definitely prefers route racing over sprints so far in his young career
2 Atticus Pomponius 2 Hollywood route races in 2010 fit OK in this spot and we get a positive trainer change to Ron Ellis
4 B's Lucky Strike one win and one 2nd only two runs in claiming and both were drop downs...same for today
5 Gobbler's Knob last win by many maybe very false in that he trailed in a field that had blistering pace and passed many exhausted horses...then again he did win by 6
race 5 slightly below average clarity
4 Samba School last was her best yet in the good old U S of A (par effort) and she finally gets to run on the Turf where in Ire she was a better grass horse than an AW horse
1,1a Entry both 1 and 1A have a shot but I prefer the 1....claim backs at a higher price from top outfits are usually very dangerous....they know what they are getting
race 6 average clarity
3 Lift Our Luck big debut run winning by 5 1/4...that race with anOK trip can win today's higher level...and better will be very tough to beat
1 Free From Sin laid up animal is training like the Hol synthetic is a very good match for her
7 Social Event consistent sort won her maiden debut so 3 1/2 months off may be to her liking
5 Forty Paces barn is hot and I think they realize this filly likes to run from off the pace...needs a move forward but she sure is working like an improved animal
race 7 average clarity
4 Hot Affair par like efforts in all 3 lifetime races.....1st ever back with short rest.....shot to move forward
3 Missadealornodeal consistent sort would have been top pick if it wasn't for being a vet scratch in mid Nov.
race 8 average clarity
1 Swiss Hero appears to appreciate the 5F sprint distance....just needs to repeat last to be solid here
7 Devour MSW drop down seems like the best animal in the race but might be a tad too late coming from off pace in a 5F race
5 Love Five Plus Two chase a fast pace in last and held 2nd....very positive rider switch from appr. to P Val
2 Gold Silver decently bred to sprint gelding is training as if he might be ready to roll in his debut into the world of thoroughbred racing
9 Cookie's From Tony nowhere in a MSW race but maybe Mullins had this race in mind from the beginning...call him...ask him...I'm sure he would tell you
