Hollywood for Saturday 11 December 2010

[private]

Trainers quite often win in bunches and today we have Sadler on top in 3 races, and both 2nd and 4th in another. Only one of them is the favorite. Come on John.

Interesting card. Good Luck!

race 1    average clarity

8 Pure Distinction    35 to 1 in debut suggests his debut was needed.....positive rider switch and in for 28K to get 2 lbs off.....all seem to say much better today...faces a very weak group

6  Marcoman   wide trip in last fairly close to good fractions.....new barn today is still looking for 1st win in 2010 or would have been top pick

5  Eddiingtonforgianna    not much of a 1st start trainer but horse does have fairly decent drills and this is a bad field

3  Warren's Temptation   format says I have to use four picks in a field of 8 or more...not much more to say then that

race 2    average clarity

2  Cost Of Freedom    should take this 5F affair if breaks cleanly and runs his race

1  Square Deal   needs race 2 back and a little early pressure on our top pick

6  Quick Enough   might come flying....plenty of speed in here might set a unsustainable pace even for 5F

race 3    average clarity

4  Lea The Punisher   quality filly has done little wrong in 3 lifetime starts.....impressive in winning 1st lifetime grass race in latest chasing a strong pace and holding together

6  Money Lover   broke poorly in a turf sprint and then showed life in 1st lifetime grass race.....training great....owns solid speed...shot tire wire

1  Jet Blue Girl    can get a nice ground saving trip sitting about 2nd or 3rd.......Eurton barn has been a little cold ever since he got injured from an unruly horse....good trainer is due to awaken

race 4    slightly above average clarity

2  Lead Blocker   bad trip....decent final time and a very positive rider switch for his 2nd lifetime start....small but very stout outfit

3  Warren's Concept   on the improve for his new barn......will need one more move forward to compete with our top pick

6  Swongs   exits a fast heat.....fig is better then par for today's level.....concerned somewhat about a 5th race in 5 weeks

5  Roaring Rick   on the right end of the learning curve and will need the trend to continue

race 5    slightly below average clarity

2  Asperity   new trainer and it is Sadler....and....the drills suggest he has improved this horse....step of in class hints he believes he has as well

1  Swift Winds   gelding seems to find a way to avoid the winners circle but 95% of his lifetime efforts/figs on Top Turf Today fits strongly here

4  El Merito   last race 8 weeks ago was impressive considering it was his 1st run in 1 1/2 years...why 8 weeks off?  entered on 20 Nov but the races were taken off the turf....good works since

race 6    slightly above average clarity

7  Canadian Pride   ran 2nd in a stellar group in latest and earned a fig here that would win 95% of the MSW run in S Cal...plenty of recovery time

4  My Diane   nice turf tune-up in MSW debut and boy is she training well now.....expecting a very strong 1st ever on the AW

2  Spectacular Sky   earned a better then par adjusted for trouble fig in MSW debut and Jones is much better with 2nd time starters

3  Tiz The Route   good move forward in 2nd lifetime race and will need the trend to continue in the solid looking field

race 7    average clarity

7  Pat Olcott   very fast early for a cheap filly andcontinues to train very fast......low % jock but he's best with speed horses and he knows this filly well...speed of the speed has a decent shot to wire

3  Misinjennuous   3 out of 4 in the win column at Hol and this  most likely is her last shot to add to her earnings at Hollywood...that says O'neillwill most likely be all out with her today

2  Pretty Kenzie   as I've said in the past this filly usually really fires when she is taken back early...hope jock and trainer know it

6  Yankee Romance   down down down the claiming ladder...fits if there is one more race left in the tank for this declining filly...10 weeks rest sure seems like a positive

race 8    average clarity

1  He's A Dance Star   another 1st in the Sadler barn horse that has improved in the morning under his tutelage and should move forward

6  Lit'sgoodlookingray   gelding is on the rebound and just claimed by a trainer......sprint turf history is fine...smart placement by her new connections

4  Mr Tokyo   has been running well versus slightly better...good trainer/rider combo (same as the unlucky, best horse, Keen Bidder yesterday)

5  Detroit Donnie   won for fun in 2nd career race so I view 2nd out after a layoff as a very big positive here especially considering his last was decent....feel strongly this gelding is sitting on a big effort but.......jock sure has a dismal record on the sod or would have picked higher

race 9    slightly above average clarity

3  My Day Rose   faces lots of speed horses but set a nasty pace in last and still won going away and earned a solid fig....works since are as good as I've seen for a 2 year filly from Baffert in a long time....might be a very a special speed/route individual

8  Tell A Kelly   plenty of pace up front is what this deep closing proven filly wants and she gets it

5  Turbulent Descent   won so easily in hand in earning a big sprint fig in last....big day today 1st at a route....quality horse has the disadvantage of never running in a two turn race..like I said...big day today

7  Zazu   wide near the pace in last and still only lost by less then 2 lengths...Smith needs a better ride today...has some shot if he gives it

race 10    average clarity

12  Shred The Secrets   better conditioner then Saavedra's record indicates...he gets very few nice animals...he appears to have one now....this gelding is training exceptionally well for a 2 year old Cal bred..should be a price

6  Jack Reacher    another 1ster training very sharply and draws Bejarano

9  Redeemsky    yet another good looker in the morning....O'Neill is solid with a good working 2 year old 1st timer

4  Full Instinct   plenty of foundation in this 1st timer....believe he will come from back in the pack and be a strong finisher especiallywith Gomez aboard

5  Shelter Cove   believe blinkers are off this gelding to get him to sit off of the pace more so he won't flat out late...seems like a wise move
