Santa Anita for Sunday 6 Feb 2011

Decent looking card to finish a very nice week. Enjoy the Super Bowl.

race 1    average clarity

2  Working At Night   1st time long for this baby she but should be able to get loose on the front end with a good lead rider aboard....bred fine to get the distance

1  Ricketyracketyruss   very proven figure wise on Top Turf Today and this mid pack runner also is bred well enough to get the 1 1/8 distance

6  So She Dances   race 3 back fits solidly here and this girl's recent drills suggest she is ready to rebound to it

race 2    slightly above average clarity

4  Donato   solid awakening in last (which we saw as our top pick at 5 to 1) and quite the impressive work tab is getting goooood

1  No Stadium   consistent sort...last time running after one turn race back to a two turn race this horse responded with a 4 length win...that's today's scenario

2  B's Lucky Strike   hard trying sort responded well the last time she ran turf to dirt.....believe she will again today

race 3    average clarity

4  Alexandria Marie   blinkers on to wake up after tossing a clunker in last....race 2 back is fine.....filly has the pedigree to be good at route racing

2  Hot Ticket   should be solid here if she takes to the new SA dirt surface and/or handles a route....seems bred well enough to handle at least 1 mile

6  Clubhouse Rules   overdo drop out of MSW races should put this filly in the hunt....she owns enough speed to be able to sit in a good striking position

8  Good Acktress   light weight apprentice up and the outside post tell me the connections will send this filly out fast and try to clear and over and say....catch me if you can

race 4    slightly above average clarity

5  Talktoomuch   the race condition seems to fit this superior animal very well.....has run competitive versus quite a bit better

1  Startjumpin Marine   should get a nice chase positionbehind our 4th choice...has hit the track in the morning every 6 days for the last 4 drills and the last work was a bullet....feeling good

4  Bella Roja   sprint turf figs fit solidly here....can she fire the same around a couple of turns??

6  Rule The Storm   looks loose here and that of course is a dangerous thing....not that much talent so she will need Espinoza to slow things down early

race 5    slightly above average clarity

1  Lilly Amore   last looks look a gimme at a route (in a non-claiming event) to put some endurance into this filly to be ready to roll in her 2nd start since she was claimed

6  Diamong Journ     moved forward for her her trainer in last and has 2 recent drills that can set her up for another improvement this afternoon

5  Mcduffe   Lloyd has a good history with "blinkers on".....2 of 4 lifetime efforts fit here

10  Magicallytown   solid move forward in 2nd lifetime start...owns enough early speed to give Pedroza want he desires...up close on or near the lead

NOTE:  13 has a shot if she draws into the field

race 6    average clarity

1  Gladding   Sadler won both Graded Stakes yesterday and has a good shot at a great weekend by taking this with a gelding who exits a fast nw alw race and is training super since.....broke his MSW at Crc by 17 lengths...he can handle the big step up

6  Spurrier   best ever in last was somewhat hidden by a bad trip...that effort was his 1st ever on the new SA since on the same surface our terrific...may love getting off AW surfaces

7  Aggie Engineer   did run lifetime best in last but our 2nd pick ran quite a bit more impressively in the same affair...also has to overcome 5 more lbs in the saddle....still it's hard to ignore 3 straight wins

race 7    average clarity

4  Magic Launch  very sharp and has a good history back in short rest....has a good shot to make five victories in a row

8  Russian River   solid run 1st ever down the SA hill turf course...continues to train like a good horse for Mitchell...blinkers on hoping to get a little more out of this mare in the afternoon's

9  Speeler   only mount of the day for Smith and he gets a chance to get loose with this mare.....Smith has been most dangerous on the front end in turf races the last few years

7  Hard Way Ten   last was an obvious tune-up to be ready to roll in her 2nd out after the layoff

race 8    average clarity

9  Indiana Nana   solid improvement in 2nd lifetime start...owns decent tactical speed...a good thing at the abbreviated sprint distance of 5 1/2 fuelongs

7  Meadow Lake Queen   runs at her best fresh off of the bench...fresh today and owns good early speed

8  Ten Forty Five   off over a year but the works sure suggest she is ready to roll

11  Bwana Beauty    1st timer is working most impressively for Metz who has a very low win % 1st out of the box but the drills here are too hard to ignore

5  Pic O Dream    blinkers on and a solid bullet gate drill...hmmm....wake-up seems imminent
