Ghastly day yesterday so I put in a little bit of extra work enhancing our chances of a meaningful rebound today.

 

race 1    average clarity

8  Sugarinthemorning   2 extremely strong races in 5 lifetime efforts and the works suggest we will see similar today.....bred just fine to handle a turf sprint

1  Lunch Time Diva   "very good stretch" comment on Top Turf Today is very rare and that is what this filly got on her 1st ever on the turf....and she closed into fairly soft fractions for a race on the hill

2  Advantage Player   pressed a suicidal pace in last and rightfully tired...very positive rider switch especially for a run down the hill....race 2 back fits fine

4  Teroda   1st ever on the turf in last and it wasn't too bad an effort at a route...but more importantly it should have put some endurance into her and the cut back in distance looks like a good thing

 

race 2     average clarity

2  Candy For Paseana   exits a fast heat in last....horrid toss it out trip in 2 back.....seems best suited for today's 1 mile distance.....reliable trainer/rider team

5  Easy On The Eye   all 5 lifetime races on a fast main track fit in this spot...9 years old but seems to fire some almost every out and few Knapp runners do

1  Film Fortune    barn wins seldom but when they do win it is often 3rd out after the layoff....needs to run his effort 5 races back which could beat these

 

race 3    slightly below average clarity

5  Gregor   sure fits solidly if he can handle the lawn as well as he has the main track...good grass rider aboard and adequate turf breeding

3  Jeffrey's Groove   shocking good (79 to 1) 1st ever on the sod in latest and it was versus better....low % trainer has been much improved the last 3 months or so...should be prominent from the get go

6  Resplendently   races fit OK on the main track but we have a bit of a dichotomy in judging his chances to handle the turf...trainer is good 1st on the turf...breeding is not so hot for it

8  Brass Plate   needs to move forward to be a factor here and may...1st on the sod and bred nicely for it and 2nd out after the layoff...and...red hot trainer in Sadler

 

race 4    average clarity

5  Mr. Saturdaynight   reassuring work since his winning last for this gelding taking a small drop...repeat of last will be tough to beat

4  Manogold   deep closer seemingly gets the pace up front he desires...good history at today's distance

1  Wild Hombre   2 recent speed works put into this gelding .....suggesting they will be sending him hard in his 1st ever at a route...needs to put away the 2 horse early

 

race 5    slightly below average clarity

4  Nextdoorneighbor   all his races on the main track sure look good versus this group if he can duplicate any of those efforts on the turf....not crazy about his turf pedigree but he did work decently on it

6  King Red   good sprint history and proven on the grass...should be nice and tight 2nd out after the layoff

2  Kajiwara   long hiatus from the track but training sharply for his comeback race.....bred fine to handle the grass.....good rider / trainer tandem

7  Blue Jay Attack   consistent hard trying closer's best races are at 5F...2nd best efforts (figs) are at 6F .....should run late but the jury is still out on his ability to run his best efforts down the hill

 

race 6    average clarity

3  Twoatten Tenattwo  stepped up in class in latest and met the challenge decently...now we get another step up and more importantly we can a major jockey upgrade...impressive 6 furlong drill to boot

9  Reality Ride   all 3 lifetime races fit well and Rosario sticks around

5  El Vino   ran a solid race in last 1st time with the ultimate equipment change (gelded)....work series since suggests he is even better now

1  Rightful Image   long layoff but training as if he is all cranked up and ready to roll in only his 2nd lifetime start

 

race 7    average clarity

6  Separate Forest   very impressive 1st ever on the SA hill course in her latest.....good turf rider stays aboard....sure seems likely to handle the step up back into the alw ranks

11  Saaneen   sharp and well proven on the hill...scratched out of a 100K Stakes for this spot

7  Hopeful Union   Ellis charge has done little wrong in 3 lifetime starts on the main track and has adequate grass breeding

2  Maralago   won for fun on the dirt in MSW debut way back in Sept of 2009....when last seen (New Years Day of 2010) she showed life on the turf in a 2 turn race....Sise is very dangerous off of long layoffs....can fly late if she is ready like I believe she is

 

race 8    average clarity

8  Officerwasispeedin   on the improve with every start...last effort makes her the one to beat...another forward move and she would be very tough to overcome

11  Magical Eclipse  useful debut and strong drills since.....should see lots more today in 2nd lifetime start

10  Mcduffie   dirt seems to be to her liking...can be a factor late

4  Limerick lane   2 consecutive green racing experiences before and during the race.....due to settle down

6  Say Goodnight   useful debut and the trainer is much more dangerous with 2nd time starters
