Hollywood for Thursday 21 April 2011
Back we go to an all weather surface (Cushion Track) at Hollywood, and we have no problem with that. As many of you faithful customers know The Racing Digest has done exceptionally well at the Spring/Summer meeting at Hollywood since Rich Santucci and assistent David Gordon took over the handicapping duties in 2008. We have blown away the competition and feel strongly we will once again.

race 1Â Â Â below average clarity
6 True Beauty  solid forward move in 2nd lifetime start....1st long but bred fine to handle the two turns......trainer is decent 1st time at a route of ground Â
1 Real Rockport  much improved animal since the blinkers were taken off.....needs to overcome a tendency to hang in the stretch
2 Mean Sara Jean  sure like the way this fellow finished up late in last her 2nd lifetime start.....blinkers off and 1st time long are 2 very positive training manuvers for Oviedo
Â
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
5 B's Lucky Strike  stepped up in class surprisingly in last with the blinkers taken off and produced a major wake up run....trainer must have noticed a marked improvement outside of his races on the track....lone race on Hol's Aw was just fine.....seemly sets for his closing style
3 Ominous Thomas  competitve in all 4 lifetime starts...strongest effort to date was the lone time today's jock (Bejarano) was aboard
4  River's Chapel  this recently gelded gelding is training as if he's all set to roll fresh off the bench.....2 of his 3 races at Hollywood are solid
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
4 Remember To Yodel  nicely bred to be a precocious sprinter and training as if he will live up to his breeding...trainer eats up these early 2 year old abbreviated sprints
7 Willa Be Awesome  Solis also loves to be ready for these April/May 2 year old affairs and appears to have this 1ster well prepared for his debut into the world of thoroughbred racing
3 Dolphin Bay  plenty of foundation put into this baby 1ster with 10 listed works spaced about a week apart...sure seems fit and ready
2 Warren's Assassin  another 1st time starter training up to snuff to be considered ready to roll
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
5 Donato  really turned his career around when the blinkers were removed 3 races back.....nice works series....looks like controlling speed and that is very dangerous thing when the trainer happens to be Mr. Bob Baffert
4 Domonation  this gelded appears to have disliked the conventional dirt at santa anita......works and more importantly runs much better on the Cushion Track at Hollywood
3 Korban  probably needed his last.....likes the 7 furlong distance...proven can handle the Hol AW surface....1st time P Val is usually a plus...trainer has been red hot the last few weeks
Â
 race 5   average clarity
5 Face And An Ace  trainer loves to fire 2nd out after the layoff so the last run looks like nothing more then a tune-up....3 solid drills since is most reassuring
4 Earnednevergiven  seemingly in good form and exits a stout race where the winner came back to lose by a nose in a Grade 3....good chance to get a good stalking position
6 Sterling Outlook  6 furlongs looks like a good fit......gelding has been flattening out a little at 6 1/2 and 7 F one turn races....also training very sharply of lateÂ
7 Ace Of Aces  seems to respond to grass sprint races the best with all 4 lifetime sprints looking as if they fit just fine at today's level of competition
Â
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
7 Margarita Shot  all his career on the main track fits nicely here except for one run on a sloppy track....very nice 2nd in last versus much tougher
8 Blame The Jockey  might be a gimme gimme go here....GG trainer is soild 3rd out after the layoff and dropping a couple of class levels
6 Purse Luva  in decent current form and best on AW surfaces and also appears to appreciate 6 furlongs
3 Warren's Concept   race lacks speed and this gelding appears to have the most.....he is the kind that gets awfully brave when he is loose on the lead
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
6 Boxeur Des Rues  lone U S of A grass race run last Nov. was quite strong for a 2 year old......good work tab suggests he is ready to roll fresh.....race appears to have ample speed in the field which helps this late runner
4 Diamond Geezah  talk about an experience edge.....already has run 11 turf sprints and it is only mid April of his 3 year old season...also a closer in a seemingly good spot for one
2 Gig Harbor  2 for 2 lifetime on the AW and is very likely to handle the grass with his pedigree.....needs to avoid a suicidule speed duel
7 Ain't No Other  another stout looking GG invader.....this one is coming off a 4 race win streak.....also is bred to handle the sod.....and will need to avoid going too fast early
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
11 Thunder Of Zion  definitely on the right end of the learning curve and now is training like never before and the works are on the Hollywood racing surface.....rather sure we will see a lifetime best effort.....of course the knock is we have a low % rider aboard
9 Clearlyaluckyguy  decent mc debut and Bernstein is much better with 2nd timers....can be prominent from the get go and a good speed rider is up
8 Chi Cha Cha  plenty of foundation in his work-outs for this 1ster says fit and ready for his mc debut
13 Dancing Yodeler  consistent efforts both on the AW and the conventional dirt....does need a little more punch late....tends to flatten out in his 6F races
2 You Bettor Beware  useful debut and the trainer is better with 2nd time starters.....Dollase has been ice cold but it is a new meet and he is due to snap out of it...so are my Chi-Sox who haven't led for 51 straight innings...yikes
