Hollywood for Thursday 5 May 2011
Saturday's selections will be posted by 5:30 am Pacific time and most likely the night before if all goes well. Â
Â
Â
race 1Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
6Â Tamborim 3 straight strong route paces to cope with hides this geldings form.....horrid trip in last wide with pace....controlling speed in this spot
1Â Joe Carl loves the Hollywood synthetic and solid at today's distance....back down to a level he can handle
3Â Sanquine working at Hol like he appreciates the racing surface......figs/efforts sure fit at this drop down level...decent opportunity to get a nice stalking positing
Â
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
6Â Miss Addy Kiss distance fit a plus for these extended 1 turn races.....good work tab.....solid fits versus these
1Â Twodollarstowin usually preforms best with 5 to 7 weeks between races and finally gets it....also has a nice record on the Hollywood synthetic
7Â Ballerina Angel been awhile since O'Neill brought one back in 5 days rest so it seems significant for he has the best history of any trainer I have ever examined with such a maneuver
4Â Soldier Betty broke a little slow and then checked and then ran 3 wide in layoff run......not too shabby considering she only got beat by 5 lengths.....good shot to move forward and smooth things out......does tend to hang
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
7Â Katelyn N' Jenna seemingly the poorest group of maiden claimers I can remember in 2 or 3 years........this filly at least has good early speed and can get away
5Â Shame On Lilly 33 to 1 in mc debut suggests the sprint race was needed....good work tab since....especially like the last work at 6F....route breeding is decent
8Â Shootin Breeze good spot to ship into.....proved she can handle two turns running an OK 3rd closing well late on the turf at Tup
3Â Touch Luck best of what is left in this weak weak bunch
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
8Â Roman Counsel to me the best time to drop way down is off extended layoffs....it makes claiming a bit too risky for many including yours truly when he owned thoroughbreds in Chicago.......best races for this colt are on the Hollywood synthetic.....good work tab
2Â Twoatten Tenattwo on the right end of the learning curse and well placed to win
5Â Clue Me In made a forward move 2nd out after the extended layoff....can and needs to make another move forward.....2 decent recent drills support this
7Â Starcatter last was an obvious turf sprint tune-up off of an 11 month layoff.....and it was quite good....just needs a logical small improvement to compete for the top prize
Â
race 5Â Â Â average clarity
3Â Courtside exits a very fast heat 6+ weeks ago and must feel good because he steps up a couple of notches......is training sharply.....turf pedigree seems good enough especially considering this gelding has already won on the AW and the slop...controlling speed here
2 Dancing At Dark very strong finishes last three times sprinting....lousy trip in lone grass race and it was at a route which he seemingly doesn't want anyway....monster 6F drill...should fly late once again
6Â Chinese Praise on the improve with every start....decent grass pedigree....red hot start to the Hol meeting for Miller
4 Gnarly Dude showing lots of life in his AW races and bred very niely to handle a turf sprint affair....blazzling recent works for a trainer who usually comes through with a good effort off of stout works
Â
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
3 Depth powerful fig/effort/improvement 1st time with blinkers....rightfully/smartly steps up...repeat of last should take this unless the distance isn't to his liking
1Â Lord Vronsky solid tune-up in a MSW affair....good reassuring work since......trainer is good 1st time with blinkers and even better 1st time at a route
5Â Cantona fired a good race turf to dirt (and drop into claiming) last Winter....turf to AW today and more importantly a drop back into maiden claiming
7Â Chi Cha Cha useful sprint debut....good bloodlines for route racing
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
5Â Porfido doesn't bother me at all that this nice turf runner keeps dropping because he is 9 years of age.....has been facing better
3Â Foolish Comment U S of A debut last was decent especially considering the 1 year layoff.....1 1/4 distance should be right up his alley
6Â Victorian Prince toss out last...no pace to close into at all.....another who should appreciate the 1 1/4 mile distance
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
2Â Baby Blake excellent work tab for this 1st timer...so why not in MSW affair?.....purchased for only $3.5K...so why not start for a tag
9Â Deejenerit another with a solid work tab....very aggressively hit the track to work every 6 days....rather sure ready....tough post for a 4 1/2 F affair
4Â Warren's Lightning works are good enough to possibly be ready to roll in mc debut
8Â Respuesta Solida same as above but with a more difficult post to cope with
5Â Nebikon not working like the recent 1st time winners from Harrigton but those were in MSW affairs.....trainer is too hot with his babies to ignore
