A date to remember. So many of you have asked when I will give bonus selections at Arlington again. Well I am doing a race show once again for a fund raiser at  AP in 1 week on Friday June 17th. I will post my picks along with those for Hollywood that day. Last year I got quite lucky and had 7 of 9 top pick winners. The previous year was quite good as well. Hope the trend continues as it can help the total money raised at the event. As many of you know a winning horse-player is usually a generous horse-player. Check the archives for mid June of last year to see how I fared with some of handsome payoffs.

 

Races for Saturday will be posted by no later then 7:30 am Pacific because of the early post time.

 

race 1    slightly above average

1  Rollerskates   only 3 of 37 lifetime so why not drop a small notch off a convincing 7 length win

6  Zippin E    once again will try to stay clear by a length or two which will enhance his chances of getting brave on the front end and wiring

4  Twodollarstowin   4 straight wins under the tutelage of M Mitchell....claimed by Metz who has been red hot 1st after the claim of late...shot for 5 in a row

 

race 2    average clarity

8  Gittel   good work series for this 1st timer and Janet Armstrong is quite good getting maiden claimers 1st timers ready to roll

3  Strawberry Route   good forward move in 2nd lifetime race.....another and he is a solid contender

1  Stayclassysandiego   O'Neill charge is training well enough to be considered ready to compete in her Mc debut

6  Warren's Mo Memory   good work tab for this 1ster especially for a trainer like Guiterrez who doesn't drill them too hard in the morning

 

race 3    average clarity

2  Benicia Beauty   horrendous trip 2 months ago and still managed to beat 6 of 9 horses.....layoff drills are sharp....jock will be out to make amends

3  Full Fashioned   wide trip in last somewhat hides a forward move......continues to train like a runner

4  Ashabu   easily best early speed in this spot if she duplicates her last and with a good lead rider in T C Baze

 

race 4    average clarity

3  Regroup   both lifetime races at Hollywood are solid......6 1/2 furlongs looks like a good fit for this late runner.....bad trip in last hides his ability some

4  Stu's Gone Wild   logical $3,500 drop in claiming.....has done little wrong in both lifetime races run on AW....should be prominent from the get go 

6  Classy Lion   better animal then he appears on paper....training awfully well and as a 1st time gelding....also can be prominent from the start

 

race 5    average clarity

8  Get Funky   has been firing every other race and today is on the "firing" end of things...and the recent strong work tab suggests the trend continues tonight

5  Yes It's A Cat   race two back run down the hill at SA is solid.....and the works since are also solid....trainer is more then capable with a turf horse....horse has decent history at Hollywood especially at 6f on the sod

1  Via Verde   all 3 lifetime turf sprints are par like efforts for today's level

9  Connagher   layoff drop down into claiming has back numbers that fit here if he is ready fresh off of the bench this evening....work regiment isn't bad

 

race 6    slightly above average clarity

4  Supreme Summit   been facing quite a bit better.....last win came in an allowance race (nw2)....training exceptionally well......should come flying late

6  Color Of Courage   very impressive layoff win in last overcoming a poor start ....good 5/8ths drill since....same effort and a cleaner trip and he can repeat

5  Matto Mondo   last time this gelding ran turf to AW he crushed the field.....same situation today

3  Slew The Man   sure appreciated the 1 turn mile at CD with a solid 2nd in a good field....ships in and it looks like 7F (1 less furlong) might bit a good fit...has handled the AW just fine

 

race 7    slightly above average clarity

7  Uncle Greg   sure seems loose here and more importantly is a ratable horse

2  Warren's Warehouse   0% trainer in 83 starts to a 19% (for the year) is quite the trainer change....has been a very consistent runner for a barn that has little consistency with their stock

4  Doc Can Dance   need to see his effort 4 back a strong turf effort run at Tup....trainer has been firing with his limited starters so far this meeting

1  Preferred Behavior   in decent form....lone turf race isn't bad.....believe will try and sit on or near the lead...does need to move forward some

 

race 8    average clarity

4  Mean Sara Jean   should finish well from far back in this weak field....believe the field will be collapsing into her hands late...might run on by the whole bunch 

8  Negra Tomas   low % trainer so I'm not so sure we will see a repeat of his last but if we do she should be on or near the lead from the get go and a be a major factor at the wire

5  My Joycie   has some obvious looking physical problems but if she has one more race in her she fits as well as anyone in here

2  Great Bernadine    seems to appreciate today's 7F distance the most.....Alicea is good holding these weak speed types together

7  Royal Pearl   OK mc debut 2 back....then legged up on the grass at a route in last.....seems poised for a forward move tonight

1  Warren's Hopeful    will need lifetime best and I don't see it here...so small piece of the pie more likely
