Hollywood for Sunday 19 June 2011
[private]
Happy Fathers Day and a very late Happy Mothers Day as I just checked the current customer base and we have over 10% female customers. And by the way ladies, you have been great customers as I have never had a complaint from any of you. Actually, I have very few complaints from the men either. Thanks for that.Â
Â
race 1Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
5 Tiz True  seems like a logical drop for a trainer who could use a couple of winners.....strong recent 6F work.....on or near the lead in a race lacking pacesetters
1A Purse Luva  excellent record when M Garcia rides and he is aboard today......solid move forward in latest in a 7F affair just missing despite being quite wide....7 1/2F seems like a good fit
7 Mr. Saturdaynight  4 good races in a row since the blinkers were put on.......good opportunity to sit close in a race lacking speed types
4 Looking For Candy  might feel real good for Knapp to bring back in 1 week off of an improved effort......1st career race ever for this colt off of very short rest
Â
race 2Â Â Â slightly above clarity
6 Bling Cha Bling  this 1st starter is displaying brilliant speed in his work tab and this is only a 4 1/2 furlong affair....just purchased 3 months ago for $185K so the connections pretty much got to see what they were was buying
8 Night Tide  1st timer for Mr. Bob Baffert and strong drills and solid breeding.....what's new?
9 Pedlars Way  checked a couple of lengths on the run-up and ran wide and this colt still managed to finish strong in his MSW debut
1 A Toe By Three  works seem good enough to possibly compete for the top prize....P Val will try to get the jump on them in this abbreviated sprint of 4 1/2 furlongs
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarity
1 Pink Leninade  two decent sprint races for this Hendrick's charge and back to Rosario who is 1 for 1 on the filly.......bred just fine to handle a route of ground
4 Gumption  finally runs on the Hollywood synthetic........3 for 6 on the Hollywood AW.....0 for 17 on other main track surfaces
5 Toro Bonito  good news is.....never missed hitting the board on the Hollywood syn in 7 starts on it.....bad news.....yet to win on it.....must overcome his tendency to hang in the stretch
Â
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
3 Team Builder  locical drop to a level he should fit.....seems like he can be the controlling speed here
2 Dramatic Reward  decent run in last the 1st time out for Sean McCarthy.....running line history says he should show more today with 3 weeks rest
6 La Rosa Mexicana  laid up 2 1/2 months but training up to snuff to possibly be ready fresh off of the bench for his 1st ever route endeavor
8 Sheskey  3 decent races run at Tup that fit fine here this Spring.....been off for 8 weeks and the work regiment is a bit sketchy or I would have rated higher
Â
race 5Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
1 Sammy's A Runnin'  good spot for a late running fit turf horse......race sure seems set for late runners with an abundance of speed
5 Fortunate Appeal  one win and 5 2nd's in 6 lifetime starts on the main track......and mom has tossed 4 grass winners......has the potential to be even better on the lawn
4 Nisus  toss out lone turf race for this gelding because he dueled in suicidal fractions down the hill at SA......bred fine to handle the sod and he has developed into an animal that likes to run from off of the pace some
11 Mandated Blues  2 good runs in 2 lifetime races...bred fine to run on the grass......believe the jock needs to try and take back and get on over to save as much ground as he can from a difficult post
Â
race 6Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
4 Sway Away  3 powerful races in 3 lifetime sprints....the same can't be said for his prowess in 2 turn affairs......back to his strong suite today
5 Da Ruler  very impressive horse in both lifetime starts.....laid up but hard to be training any better for the ever dangerous Bob Baffert
3 Sahara Sky  on the improve with every start (excluding one try on the turf)....trainer is starting to heat things up
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
4 Deluxe Bus  strong run 1st after the claim for Mitchell.....good work tab since.....highly likely another similar effort or maybe more can occur this afternoon
6 Sir Ed  O'neill just claimed this gelding off of a nice forward move.......solid little 3F work since......like our top pick the same or more is likely to occur
2 Star Dance M D  same gimmie/go and back to Rosario
9 Hurricane Lake  this gelding has spent most of his career running long but he does have a good sprint race history...might be flying late
Â
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
3 Warren's Blossom  hard to say little against 5 for 5 at 6 furlongs and this filly accomplished that feat on 4 different surfaces
5  Irish Gypsy  specializes in these small under 100K Stakes races with 3 2nd's and a win in the last 4 races in them
2 Washington Bridge  nice Graded Stakes route horse will need a decent pace up front to get things into gear early enough to get up in time at 6F
Â
race 9   slightly below average clarity
3 Amy's Outburst  shuffled back early in MSW debut which was on the the turf and that was it for her chances because it was a totally paceless affair.....M Jones is much better with 2nd timers.....very likely to see a much improved effort today
10 My Hopeful Heart  good work series for this 1st timer and catches a soft looking group......bred fine to appreciate the green stuff
8 Joshuas Bride  works seem good enough for this filly to be ready to roll into her debut into the wonderful world of thoroughbred racing
2 Candy's Girl  tired late for 2 3rd place finishes down the hill at SA...so....running a route in last and 1/2 furlong less and maybe P Val can hold this one together for a visit to the winners circle
5 Schiaparelli  works were nice late last winter....too sketchy now or I would have rated much higher...still hot barns are scary
4 No Mistress  not in very good looking form but does have races that fit in her past that could win this
