I have been rather proud of this week's handicapping and feel rather good about finishing things off with some more fireworks.

 

race1 average clarity

4  Alexandria Marie   last 4 races fit and that consistency and the fact she is trained by a top conditioner make her the one to beat

2  Takethemoneyandrun   not earning enough to pay the bills so takes a logical drop to starting earning her keep and live uo to her name

7  Warren's Peacock   very significant route speed.......turn back to one turn.....shot to wire for his new trainer

 

race 2    average clarity

2  Lorenbray   solid sprint breeding and a solid work series especially for the level....Muhall is quite good with mc 1sters

6  Roman Chic   filly has been laid up since Oct. but she is training great for her return to the race wars.......and the trainer wins quite often off of extended layoffs

5  Birthday Time   needed last off of a long hiatus from the track.....works since suggest she came out of the race in good shape and we will see more today

4  Huntington Harbour   lone race last Fall looks solid here but owns a work regiment that is somewhat suspect or would have been rated higher

 

race 3    average clarity

5  Sparkling Style   vet scratch in May but works suggest she has rebounded....controlling speed in this spot

3  Screaming Eagle   consistent sort fits solidly here and is route fit with is usually a good thing when trying to stay the extended 1 turn 7 1/2 furlongs

2  Bench Glory   won her debut into the world of racing and did it with a bad trip......shot if she builds off of that effort

 

race 4    average clarity

4  The Whammer   horrid trip in last and still won....better on the grass then she appears in print

5  Get Funky   sure appreciates the 6 furlong grass races at Hollywood.....should be prominent from the get go

6  Bradium   lost to toughie in last......same price and same connections....should also be prominent from the start

3  Cayambe    needs to make a rebound of sorts...last might have been a gimme for today's go.......hard to tell

 

race 5    average clarity

8  Naturalist   solid 2nd with a large gap to 3rd in a fast heat....5 furlongs looks like a good fit

7  Creston Cowboy   believe Rosario will try to sit off what looks like a solid pace......what we need to see is his debut run 3 races back

6  Papason    Mandella isn't exactly a mc 1ster type trainer but this colt sure is training well enough to be ready today.....trainer has won only 1 of his last 12 mc 1st timers but it was a big price and today's jock was aboard

5  Blind Magic   last was horrid but new trainer and a solid recent drill...might be poised for a rebound

 

race 6    average clarity

2  Samba School    should once again get the trip on or near the lead in what should be a very reasonable pace

5  Bab At The Bowster   once again looks loose with a soft pace and should stick around longer with a much more impressive work tab under his belt this time around

1  Attar Of Rose   deep closer is training sharply but will need more pace up front than anticipated to put in her best late kick

3  Elegant   best route turf effort ever in last but seemingly not the best of spots for a closer

 

race 7    slightly above average clarity

7  Izshelegal   finally spotted where she was impressive...sprints....and she is in a MSW not a Stakes race......powerful late kick in one turn affairs

3  Glamorista   works say all systems go for this expensive 4 year old 1ster of Mr. Bob Bafferts

8  Valeria   unimpressive work tab before MSW debut on the grass....OK run legging up on the muscle building sod....fast works since....hmmm.....you think we have a little more horse today?

2  Forever Nada   strong debut 3 back...acted up in the gate next out and ran a clunker.....solid run in 3rd out....training best ever....sitting on a good race if she behaves

 

race 8    slightly above average clarity

6  Celtic Princess   continues to train like Avila has the trump card for this mare....owns speed in a race that seems set to hold in favor of those near the front

4  Wild Mia   extremely consistent filly and the barn and the jock have been hot of late

5  Givine   good miler overseas and more importantly had the lead in many of those races.....only one other in here with speed....our top pick

 

race 9    average clarity

11  Shane Danield   good history with short rest both for the horse and trainer....takes a significant logical drop

8  Melo Laser   trainer is solid with maiden claimers.......blistering 5/8ths work at Slr seems to have this gelding all set for today's abbreviated 5F affair

9  Thunder Ali   work series (mostly away from Hollywood) is better then most players will realize

7  Brother Ernie   needed last and it was better than it looks......back quick for a little fireworks this afternoon

6  Another Bertrando   drills are good enough to make this first time starter dangerous

5  Onebadboy   debut race run in mid April is good but the work series since isn't or would have rated higher
