Just a reminder we will not be covering the Fairplex meeting this year except for a few select days and even that is only a possibility. 

 

Starting something new today. We will be putting up a longshot in this spot on days that we have a price shot in a race where he did not qualify as one of our 2, 3, or 4 given selections.

Longshot not listed is in Race 5 number 9 Starspangled Heat.....liked him in his debut and he bombed.....deserves another shot


 

race 1    slightly below average clarity

3  Bronster   best efforts for this 3 year old are with short rest between races....short rest today....closer seemingly should receive ample pace to flatter his late run

1  Songfoya   1st at a route and 1st on the sod but bred to handle the transition......last 2 races are much better than appear on paper

4  My Boy Luke   on the improve.....seemingly sets for a late runner......1st on the grass but mom has tossed 4 turf winners with her other 5 babies

7  Bullybullybully   flew way too fast early in last with the blinkers on.....off today to make more ratable in his 1st endeavor ever on the lawn.....bred fine to handle the turf

 

race 2    average clarity

2  Forty Dates   had to argue with or over-handicap a horse that is 14 of 15 on the board on the main track.....responded well with the blinkers off in last

1  Miss Peanut   up and down the claiming ladder rather crazily......fits fine at 12,500 off a bad trip 4 1/2 beaten 4th at 20K....low % jock but he has a good record on this filly

3  Kiss My Swiss   big positive: last 2 with Rosario up were daylight wins......big negative: 0 for 8 at 6F....tends to flatten

 

race 3    average clarity

1  Sleep Tight   dangerous speed here as speed on the turf has been doing awfully well the last 3 weeks at 6F

4  Subpeoena The Dress   1st time Mitchell and drops....I'd say that's a bit dangerous these days

6  Entabeni   race 2 back was very impressive only getting beat by 4 after breaking about 8 slow......and then bounced (I hate the over-used word but it probably can apply here) in last

5  Cactus Flower   consistent sort can be prominent from the get go on or near the lead....question is can she manage a 3rd run off of the layoff as she has been put on the shelf after one or two runs in her past

 

race 4    average clarity

6  Town Belle   overdo MSW drop down.......blinkers back on today and Drysdale has a solid history with such an equipment change....seemingly gets plenty of pace to put in her late run 

2  On Your Mark   capable of solid pace at a route and also drops from the sky from MSW racing to the low rent district

8  Smil'n From Above   race 2 back her debut was a strong bad trip hidden effort.......1st long but bred fine to get a route of ground

1  Team Builder   clunker in last but sure worked great since....needs a rebound and maybe poised for one

 

race 5    average clarity

4  Kingpin Ryno   solid sprint on the AW....solid sprint on the sod....then a weak route race...back to a sprint on the sod.....trainer has 3 wins and 2 2nd's from 7 starts

8  Madeoftherightstuf   good debut at 6F on the sod and then even better on the AW in next.....back to the sod with strong connections in Bejarano and Sadler 

1  Cranky Jack   lone race way back in March of 2010 was a good effort down the SA hill course......works suggest he has returned ready fresh once again...the fact Rosario accepted the mount supports this

5  Delta Fix   sure looks ready off of a nice works series applied by C Gaines....should finish well with the 3 straight 6F works put in to finish off her work regiment

 

race 6    average clarity

4  Chiloquin    very consistent sort especially with 4 to 7 weeks between races...stellar history at 6 to 6 1/2 F

3  Master Chef   also is consistent....needs to avoid flattening out past 6F

5  Legal Separation   tossed a clunker in last.....race/effort 3 back with a better trip could beat these......might respond favorably to 5 weeks off

6  Gator Warrior   won MSW debut for Baffert and has trained forwardly since.....debut effort was short of what it will take to win this but the works since suggest we'll see more horse today

 

race 7    average clarity

3  Unzip Me   great mare might be at her very best fresh as she is for today

2  Separate Forest   has rated in the past (even with P Val up) and it would seem that would be a wise thing here as there is plenty of early gas here

1  Broken Dreams   all 5 foes own early gas and if most of them go after the lead then this quality closer's late kick will be most dangerous

 

race 8    average clarity

1  Pedlars Way   last fits fine for today's level and the bad trip/big adjusted fig earned 2 back is very solid considering today's lower level

6  K Js Maddog   very nice work tab at a training center in Utah especially the last gate 5/8ths on 25 June....dangerous 1ster

8  Grumpy Small Mouth   flashed good speed in debut....nice 4F work since.....should be able to last much longer today....maybe from gate to wire

4  He's A Sure Call   aggressive tightly spaced and prolonged work series gives a hint a danger to this first timer

3  Run For Miles   another 1ster training well enough to possibly be dangerous in his debut into the wonderful world of thoroughbred racing

9  Heart Fever   Gary Stute has a poor history with 1st timers so what is with the good work tab......even a major league pitcher hits a homer once in a great while...unless of course the pitcher is Don Drysdale who hi 29 in 14 seasons
