G Gomez sure is riding well these days and is our top pick twice, 2nd pick once, and our third pick once in 4 mounts today. He is the favorite on only one of his four mounts. Seems like a good deal.  

 

race 1    slightly below average clarity

3  Imperial Pride   should be finishing well in this spot and many in here won't be

2  Tiz Golden   Ron Ellis horses are firing this meet....all 3 lifetime races have want it takes to compete for the win at this mdn50K level

5  Sentry Duty    wasn't that far off a hot pace in MSW debut last and today gets in 12 lbs less with the apprentice up.....might be able to get loose here or at least sit close to a reasonable pace

 

race 2    average clarity

4  Monterey Jazz   outstanding early speed fresh and is fresh today....proven on synthetic....shot to be dominate thru-out

1  Preamble   fits solidly in this spot unless this is only a tune-up for a route race at a later date

 

race 3    average clarity

7  Cactus Flyer   sharp recent drills......step up seems like a good sign......5F on the turf sure looks like a good fit

1  Miss Georgie Girl   consistent sort especially on the sod gets Gomez who is riding awfully well once again these days

2  Tribalicious   dangerous ability (which is good enough to beat these) if this filly rebounds to her top ability today...works hint that she might

5  Deo's Secret   good work tab says ready off of the long layoff....AW races fit fine here......bred OK for the lawn....can sit up close in a 5F affair if she takes to her new surface

 

race 4    average clarity

1  Tripped The Light    awfully good purse for a 10,000 claimer so why not cut claiming price in half to score

5  Miss Anime   no pace to close into 2 back and followed that with a horrid trip in her last...bred fine to get the mile.....can take this with a better trip

7  Really Elegant   very dangerous speed here and John is rather decent holding together loose runners on the main track

2  First Queen   wide trip in last or could have competed for the win.......14 pounds less today with the apprentice up 

 

race 5    average clarity

1  Random Luck   good chance to get a nice chase position behind our 3rd pick who might be gasping late

11  Lorenbray   solid 2nd in maiden claiming debut last......and a very fast 4F drill since.....also should sit close to the lead

4  Warren's Lady   MSW drop down looks loose on the lead......drop should help ability to hang on which so far he hasn't been able to do 

5  Royal Chavela   good move forward in 2nd lifetime start........needs the trend to continue....decent 6F drill at Slr on 23 July 

 

race 6    slightly above average clarity

5  Hiatus   on the improve......very sharp right now for his return to the turf.....only race on the grass seemed to suite hm.....decent post and a top turf jock in Gomez

4  Whirling Thunder   good 1st ever for Mitchell......handles the turf well.....a ton here if he moves forward 2nd out under the auspicious of M Mitchell

3  Obsess    owns teriffic early turf speed and he is very dangerous if he shakes free from the only other speed horse in the race no 7...P Val sure fits this gelding well

6  Kim's Leading Man   found a new home routing on the turf......last was very impressive and sure worked sharply since.....believe might fire best ever today

Longshot Possibilities:   10 Kettle Corn   on the right end of the learning curve last summer in Chicago.....solid return to the races in S Cal for Sadler...1st on the grass but sure bred fine for it

 

race 7   slightly above average clarity

4  Sherman Bartlebort   invader looks loose and also looks like the best animal in this race....that's a tough combination to beat

5  Unhitchthetrailor   last 2 races are solid.....decent chance to get a nice chase position behind our top pick

9  Ruler Of Dubai   career best was 2nd lifetime run back in short rest.....back in short rest once again after a decent layoff race......positive rider switch John to Gomez

8  Three Vases   mom not only has tossed 5 winners from 5 foals but they all won at 2......1ster is also training up to snuff.....trainer is quite good in small Stakes races

 

race 8    slightly below average clarity

11  Legal Victory   bad trip in debut hides his ability and now we get a positive rider switch to Sutherland from Scot

10  Run For Miles   another with not the best of trips....Miller is quite good with 2nd time starters

7  Ride Captain   invading barn brings in their own rider....works seem good enough to be ready at 1st asking

3  Super Candy   need a reboud to his race 3 or 4 back....coming off a 6 furlong race should help his lack of staying power

1  Master Ruby   Puype is difficult to toss right now as just about everything is running....so why not a 1ster with Guce in the irons

5  Sunny Superstition   been pounded at the windows and only run so so
