Take note of my turf data (report) being posted for free on The Racing Digest website for a limited time before it will go on sale in the near future.
To answer the many inquiries about BC weekend.....I plan on doing a special publication for the Breeders Cup but for Saturday 5 Nov. only because of time constraints. The publication will be available early Friday night. Pricing and details will be posted early next week.
race 1Â Â Â average clarity
6 Shy Humor  trainer is hot and so is his history with maiden claiming 1sters......a.m. work suggest he has a good shot to add positively to that history
1 Good Mojo  last fits fine and has never worked better.......Hollendorfer is awakening
4 Tummel  late runner should appreciate the extra 1/2 furlong.......trainer has had a good SA meeting
5 Muchos Besos  blocked in the stretch in debut last or would have been right there at the wire.....claimed and sharp the conditioner wisely steps this one up
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
3 Miss Mittagong  fell off some in last fig/effort wise.....very strong effort 2 back.....recent drills suggest we will see that solid race run 2 back....very reliable trainer of late when he works a horse well
5 Farley Star  1 1/8 mile distance seems like a good fit.......morning works are getting better....fresh and ready for best
1 Warren's Jitterbug  solid figs at 2 and 3 years of age.......last looks like a tightener........sharp recent 3F speed drill suggests we may see more speed out of this filly which would be a good thing in this affair lacking it......might see a nice rebound
race 3Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
4 Sister Moon  fired as good an effort as any 2 year filly in the U S of A in her MSW debut......continues to work like she is a cut above
6 Lady Pecan  bombed in last at Saratoga but sure is working on the SA surface as if a rebound can occur today....running for 2nd unless our top pick tosses a clunker
1 Ismene  solid MSW debut and continues to work well and often.....very fit and ready for the next level
race 4Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
3 So Brilliant  very strong drills for this Baffert 1st timer and this might not be that strong of a group
2 Candy's Jewel  last looks like it was a gimme in MSW debut......good recent drill...... Hollendorfer is quite good with 2nd time starters
1 Neurosurgeon  strong tightly spaced works for this 1st timer both speed and endurance wise....trainer tends to over work his 1st timers but if this colt can handle the wear and tear lookout today
7 Vibrato Jazz  1st timer of Sadler's has hit the track every 6 or 7 days for the last 8 weeks......I would say that surely suggests he is fit......healthy.......and ready to roll
race 5Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
2 Rock Off  fairly decent efforts on the grass.......expecting an improvement today with a re-freshening and a much improved work tab
4 Randazo  not that hot a record with 1st timers but these are very solid drills for a trainer like Shirreffs whose stock has been ready to roll of late
11 Noble Exchange  so so debut on the AW back in early August but the drills since are quite strong......nice pedigree to appreciate the sod
1 Stock Option  not much in lone race run last December on the synthetic.......but......training like a totally different much improved animal......breeding to handle the grass is fine
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
10 Wild And True  1st ever on conventional dirt in last and ran best ever........good reassuring work series since.......drops....sure seems solid in this spot
2 Fort William  another who fired a much improved effort 1st time "Real" dirt...can be prominent from the get go
7 Fire Seeker  has been facing better at GG....1st time Gallagher and drops.....lone race on conventional dirt was fine......trainer could use a win
8 Cool Region Kid  consistent sort looks like a good fit with the 7F distance......fell off some figure/effort wise in last but his race 2 back is quite strong
Long-shot of the day: 11 Benny's Benchmark  another with an effort 2 back that was solid.....both pace and final time wise.......Note: Benny's Benchmark scored as our long-shot of the day back on Aug 6th at 43 to 1
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
10 Bella Roja  much better grass horse in turf sprints versus turf routes....difficult post but strong enough figs on TTT that if she runs to her past she can can caught somewhat wide and still have a good shot at winning this race
5 Tribalicious  1 fo1 on the SA hill turf course and she won in decent time chasing a solid pace.....solid recent 4F drill
1 Entabeni  consistent sort goes back to Espinoza who rides this mare well and he better here because this mare has trouble breaking well from the 1 post at times
9 There Is No Limit  appears to be in good form........only grass sprint is impressive considering it was run off of a long layoff and it was only a 2 3/4 lengths loss at the wire
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
12 Two Violins ultra consistent sort including at today's distance had the trip from you know where in last....see you John.... hello Bejarano
7 Howmuchisit  pushed out badly in last or could have been right there at the wire despite dueling from the get go....5 1/2 furlongs looks like a good fit for this fellow who often sticks around going eye to eye
2 Blame The Jockey  another with a horrendous trip in a very eventful 2nd race on Oct 7th....new jock today
9Â Don Elias MÂ Â consistent runner likes the 5 1/2 distance........John does a nice job on this individual....decent chance to get a nice mid pack position
race 9Â Â Â average clarity
3 Al Instante  high win % grass sprinter gets a much better post today for his 2nd run down the hill and a much softer field to cope with
2 Red Defense  long hiatus from the track but 4 for 4 in the win column and one of those races was down the majestic SA hill turf course
5 Lt. Hopeful  P Val as the most likely leader down the hill.....a no brain-er as a contender
8 Details R. Sketchy  has only raced down the hill once and the effort was quite good.....can motor late if the pace up front is better than average
race 10Â Â Â above average clarity
13 Tiz Golden  whole career fits well versus these both pace and final time wise......trainer could use a win
7 Seek The Light  1st time Eurton is a very dangerous thing these days especially when he uses Bejarano for his jockey
1 Papason  nice wake-up 1st ever on conventional dirt in last at Fpx.......good drills since.....they are quicker with the blinkers on
12 Hittheroadrunning  laid up 10 months but taking that ever dangerous drop form MSW to the bottom level maiden claiming........another cold barn that could use a winner
6Â Ed The Actor
8Â Creston Cowboy
