Good wagering card today but very high wind conditions are putting a damper on my enthusiasm. High winds often cause crazy results. Hope that isn't the case today. In my many years of handicapping and wagering on the races I am in the black overall but not on off tracks and windy days which have been a sea of red.
race 1Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
5 Joy Boy  only lifetime race at a route fits well and it was run on the Hol surface....layoff last was a bad trip effort where this colt was caught wide close to a solid pace....he did well to only get beat by 8
1 Clearance Clarence  also has proven he can run well long on the Hol main track.......dull works before layoff last....strong works since.......should see much more horse today
6 Panther's Claw  short on figures but just claimed by Sadler who has vaulted forward many youngsters over the last couple of years 1st time out under his tutelage
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
4 Duplo Rapido  off 14 months but sure is training for his new conditioner Ellis as if he is returning ready and improved
3 Bull Ring  yet another Baffert 1st timer seemingly ready to roll at 1st asking
5 Celtic Charmer  takes a logical drop out of MSW racing to earn his keep....trainer is heating up
1 Street Titan  solid 1st time out under Mitchell's guidance in last.....what's new?......step up in class strongly suggests this one is doing well for his new trainer
Possible Price Shot:  7 Smart Hombre  Martin Jones/Berrios runners sure have been firing at a very high rate even though they have been showing very little in their past performances

8 Royal Import  likes the distance and seemingly runs his best when today's jock is aboard...trainer is stellar when he drops 1st out after a claim
11 Certified Diamond  ultra consistent runner on fast tracks.......2 consecutive strong races since the blinkers were put on
3 Regal Fever  chased a fast pace at 1 1/16 in last and just missed winning at 97 to 1.......cut back in distance sure looks like a good thing
5 Maker  woke up some in last and will need to wake up a little more today.....positive rider change should help
race 4Â Â Â average clarity
3 Southern Sculptor laid up since April but easily the best set of drills for a Guillot drop down in some time......fits well at today's level and rather sure he is ready
2 River Rafting  trainer is outstanding with 2nd time starters....recent drills are good....trainer is also rather good 1st time at a route
7 Spicy Beau  running lines for this gelding have always hinted that he might appreciate a route of ground.....and Sherman has a good win % 1st time at a route
1 Personalitary  looks like Rosario can get loose and will try slow things down and wire the field.......any effect so far today on speed with the high winds?

5 Gutshot Straight  last five sprints on the AW or dirt are very solid and now we a get a positive rider change....3 of 4 at the distance and 2 of 4 at Hol
8 Quintons Destiny  last 3 of 4 sprints fit well here.....4 lbs off today and Mitchell using Talamo is usually a sign a horse is sharp
4 Palio Prince  speed of the speed here and back to Sutherland who owns multiple wins on this gelding.......very sharp 5/8ths drill last week
1 Mack's Gold Bullet  trainers hot....riders very hot.......and the horse can run some

8 Blueskiesnrainbows  not much in 2 MSW starts......why not drop to Mdn 30K as the horse only cost $33K.....chump change for Baffert runner
5 Buds Pal  good conditioner with maiden claiming 1sters and the works are sharp.....mom has tossed 6 winners from 7 starters
12 Dinosaur Club  good lone lifetime race run way back in May.......training as if this colt is ready fresh.......very positive ride switch....trainer Stein means business
2 I Feel Free  improving sort had kind of a funky looking trip in last......switch to the red hot Espinoza.....a sign this gelding is feeling good as well as free
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
8 Shesoprovocative  wide trip with pace in layoff last hides a nice return to the race wars.....solid here with the same effort and a smoother trip.... a ton if builds off of the layoff run and gets the trip-a-roo
1 La Sombre  have to love 1 win and 4 2nd's in 5 lifetime starts on 3 different surfaces including a turf race at Hollywood
3 Cactus Flyer  consistent runner in turf sprints.....sat too far off of a soft pace in last....just snatched at the claiming box by Sherlock who is so so 1st out after a claim
2 Pleasing Sunrise  another consistent sort......late runner seemingly gets enough pace up front to be a factor late....laid up since June but appears ready off of numerous drills

5 I Will Follow  solid pace and decent final time number in lone lifetime start which was run at Golden Gate....claimed by Belvoir and he lures Gomez to ride for his 1st start in S Cal
9 D'wildbunch  on the improve with every start....exits a very key race....hot rider sticks with the horse
3 Arathorn  works prior to 2nd place maiden debut were OK....works are better now......forward move in 2nd lifetime start sure seems logical
8 Mustache Charlie  fell off some in last but we get a positive rider change and the works strongly suggest a rebound in form can occur
10 Ello Guv  might awaken 2nd out after the claim......what we need is this one's debut race 3 runs back
12 Mr. Newton  not much showing in 3 lifetime MSW starts except for showing some good early foot......very logical drop down close to the bottom seemingly can only help
