Santa Anita for Friday 23 March 2012
[private]
Feel good about today's card in that there aren't many runners outside of our selections that I am very worried about. Good Luck!
Race 1Â Â Â average clarity
1 Help Me Hannah  only time this filly got loose on the front end she wired the field.....sure looks loose here even from a difficult speed post at 6F
2 Sense Your Luck  needs to rebound after a setback in last....has been given time off by Mitchell so a rebound is possible......if she is ready she can sit in a very nice chase position
4 Dustin's Magic  touch of a suspicious drop but she will come flying in the stretch if she is still in relatively good condition
7 Warren's Morgan   on the right end of the learning curve......off 8 weeks but ran just fine with 6 weeks off so she should be capable of returning at a high level with 8 weeks off
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
3 Sister Moon  won by 10 in MSW debut last summer and earned an impressive fig.....then had a bad trip in a Stakes race and still only lost by 1 length....training as if she is meant and ready for return to the race wars
4 Mamma Kimbo  SCRATCHED another with a stellar 1st start in a MSW affair......very fast early but so is the 5 horse.......needs to avoid a suicidal speed duel
1 Hidden Passion  Euro invader is working as if she is ready for her 1st run in the good old U S of A.......1st ever on conventional dirt but bred well to appreciate it
race 3Â Â Â above average clarity
5 Love My Way  dueled in solid pace down the hill in last and still ran a close 2nd......pace should be much kinder today......Bejarano is in control of things and with 7lbs. off
4 Blue Samurai  ultra consistent sort fits solidly here but she sure likes to hang in the stretch....(20 1 7 5).......meets top jock up to help her learn what winning means
7 Laura's Pleasure  up the track in her layoff run last.....may have really disliked the conventional dirt........or the ultimate gimme/tune-up.......sure continues to train like she is fit and is ready
6 Alala  invader's sprint races seemingly fit OK here....proven on the SA hill turf course......will need best to get to the circle of joy
race 4Â Â Â above average clarity
5 Holy Candy  hard to run much better in both lifetime route races and not to graduate........his efforts could win at least a Grade 3 race....switch to the meets leading  jockey in Rosario to get the job done
4 Stratify  sure looks like sprint-sprint tune-up to be at full throttle today where he should run his best........that being a route of ground (A. P. Indy)
1 Eaton Hall  Baffert charge owns the best early foot in this group and most likely will attempt to wire the field in his first ever run going a route of ground
race 5Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
4 Let's Do It  3rd out after a long layoff...........and a positive rider switch to E Flores .........who has teamed up with O'Neill for many wins this meeting.........and small drop....believe well meant todayÂ
6 Euroglide  decent history on the grass at SA and decent history in 1 mile turf races......would have won last if he wasn't blocked about 4 lengths in the stretch....also takes a small drop
2 Matto Mondo   bombed in last for Asmussen who is having a tough meet......needs a rebound to the stout effort he ran the day Asmussem claimed him from the hot O'Neill
3 Surplus  another who needs a rebound of sorts........has enough time off and a nice works series put into him by Sadler....not impossible
race 6Â Â Â average clarity
6 J J's Jaguar  very solid drills for this 1st timer considering the level of racing.......Mullins is having a good meeting........break will be important considering this is an abbreviated sprint of 5 furlongs
2 Mr. Newton  improving sort has solid early speed and seems made for these 5F sprint affairs
5 Awesome Mike  another on the improve with solid early speed and only 5F to go
7 Outperform  not too much in last but 2 of 4 lifetime races fit decently here.....in an every other mode and this is the every
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
4 Chips All In  bombed in last on the dirt but she still is the owner of 4 wins and a 2nd in 6 lifetime starts...and her only grass race was solid......barn has been firing with most of their runners
6 Midnight Crooner  major awakening with the blinkers off in latest..... a 1 mile AW race at GG.....1st on the sod but has a strong pedigree for it
10 Stoney Fleece  very consistent sort especially on the grass and especially when Rosario is the pilot
7 Vibrato Jazz  solid step forward in last and continues to work sharply.....another small forward move combined with 4 lbs of and this colt fits if he of course gets the trip
race 8Â Â Â average clarity
5 Ricspretentiousgal  exits a fast heat of mdn30K runners where being beaten by 6 3/4 with a 3 wide trip was a fairly strong race....and now we get a jock upgrade and 7 lbs. off
10 Singmeasong  improving with each lifetime start......fits well here if the trend stays intact.....sharp trainer in support of the horse to make it happen
9 Freckles Galore  fell off some in last even though it doesn't look that way on paper....race 2 back with a much inferior jockey up was rather strong....solid contender if rebounds today to that race
3Â Crazy Giulia
1Â Whats Up Betty
7Â Confectionary
