Best of luck as always!
race 1 slightly above average clarity
8 Storm Fighter easily best fig.......best early pace ability......best looking preparatory drills.......1st at a route but bred decently to handle one
1 Warren's Nicholas handled SA dirt just fine in a sprint affair last year at this time.......proven long at a distance of ground on the turf......trainer is firing on all cylinders at the SA meeting
7 Ackman nice forward move in last his 2nd lifetime start at 1 mile on the green carpet.........pedigree to be able to handle the conventional dirt is just fine.......might have a shot here if he manages another move in the right direction
2 Ethnic Dance
race 2 average clarity
9 Foxy Boss major league wake-up in latest seeming out of nowhere.......3 endurance building 5/8ths drills since.........fillies pedigree seems adequate to get the extra furlong (to 1 1/8th) on the grass....repeat of last makes her the one to overcome here
6 Wednesday done little wrong in 3 lifetime starts including a par like effort in last her 1st ever long and 1st ever on the grass.........impressive work tab since her last.......sitting on another strong effort........3 year old filly handled 1 1/16 in early December so she should be able to handle 1 1/8th 3 months later in early March
5 Kyriaki so so final time in MSW debut (in a race taken off the grass and run on an off track) but showed plenty of early gas........beautifully bred for the turf and the distance.........1st time Bejarano
4 Mojo Miss
race 3 average clarity
2 Prized by Buck horse has basically fired in all 5 lifetime starts with 2 of the efforts disguised by poor trips.......just claim by a much more accomplished trainer......we also get a rider upgrade
8 Agents Bruce major move forward in 2nd lifetime race in 2011 winning by more than 3........in 2012 a layoff dirt gimme to turf race failed most likely because of a dislike for the turf.......so layoff last on Feb. 2nd sure looks a tune-up like in 2011 to be fit and ready 2nd out after the layoff
4 Visigodo strong late in last and now gets Gomez with Gryder riding our 2nd choice........lifetime two best are the only 2 times this gelding ran long on the SA main track
10 Derekson
race 4 average clarity
8 J K's Mischief decent debut effort off of so so works........blinkers on and the works are vastly improved......rather sure we see a solid move in the right direction today in 2nd lifetime start
2 Tizmetizyouy solid race turf to dirt 2 races back........same scenario today........cold trainer dumps cold rider for someone who he used to have success with in Joe Talamo
3 Jetbird hot trainer lately in Pender so I will ignore the fact that he historically isn't that good with MSW 1sters ...........and the drills are awfully stout and so is the rider named on the filly
10 Super Defence
Long-shot possibilities: 6 Devine Sucess this price shot training fairly well prior to her MSW debut in which she started quite poorly and from there showed she can run some.......and she continues to train like a horse of some merit.........also she is bred rather well to be good at sprinting
race 5 average clarity
1 Rosengold solid paced wire to wire on the off track in latest in a race moved off of the turf course.......brilliant grass drill since........4 lbs off.......might be a really good youngster for Canani who does awfully well with grass horses......and he is rather hot at the moment
5 Procurement horrid trip in last off of the 10 week layoff and still won an alw race down the majestic SA hill grass course..........must have exited the race in good order for Proctor to put this colt in a Stakes race.........small move forward and an OK trip and he will be tough
6 Tiger Day strong sprint turf record in Italy......Cecil runner should fit here if he is ready.....works suggest he is
8 Native Treasure
race 6 slightly above average clarity
5 Beholder filly has the uncanny ability set some nasty fractions and still hold together........and her trained has been firing on all cylinders for an extended period of time
2 Fiftyshadesofhay if it wasn't the off track that made this Baffert runner perform so brilliantly in her latest then lookout as she might just be as good as our top selection
6 Scarlet Strike Hollendorfer runner has never run as significant an effort/fig as our top two selections have but she might benefit from the top two picks going at each other from the opening of the gate
3 Lady Asano
race 7 slightly below average clarity
4 Jules Journey turf figs/efforts just keep improving.......should be tough if just repeats last and gets a decent trip......jock knows horse well......seems like a plus
2 You Know I Know 3 for 4 at 1 mile on the sod.......continues to train like a happy healthy 4 year old.......Gomez sticks around
1 Unremitting laid up since July when last seen at WO.......shows up in the R Mandella barn and is working as if ready fresh.......Mandella sure has been getting the job done for an extended (impressive) period of time
9 Circle The Moon
race 8 average clarity
7 Patriot's Voyage broke a little tardy and rushed to the lead which often does a runner in but he wins by 4 albeit versus weaker.......worked a powerhouse 6F since.......Baffert wisely yanks him out of claiming........believe sitting on lifetime best
6 Sir Bond last is better than appears in print.........best ever was the only time this colt ran at 7F at SA......7F this afternoon......only other 7F effort was at CD and it was an impressive bad trip 2nd in a MSW debut
9 American Blend last sure looked like a public work-out to be fit and ready for today's 2nd out after the layoff run.....strong very bad trip races in 2 and 3 races back
3 Guidopanzini
race 9 slightly above average clarity
1 Silentio chased a sizzling pace in last and rightfully tired......likely to get a good chase position once again and this time with what ought to be a more reasonable pace......and with 5 lbs off and Bejarano remaining up
3 Suggestive Boy bad trip and still crushed in last in a Grade 2........stout history at 1 mile on the grass (10 6 2 0)......continues to train well for a resurgent McAnally
8 Mr Commons constantly runs significant efforts on the grass at 1 mile......but.......he still only owns 3 wins at 12 attempts at 1 mile on the green stuff....still.....one dangerous grass runner
2 Fed Biz
race 10 slightly above average clarity
1 Ron The Greek won this race last year coming off the same race out of Florida where he ran 2nd.......won the Florida race by 11 this year......and has trained as if he came out of the race in great shape
9 Game On Dude last was fabulous and if he repeats it and isn't hassled by the 2 horse in the early stages too much then he will be awfully tough and most likely win
4 Called To Serve seemingly never sharper and the way that he has been finishing at 1 1/8 on the dirt my guess is that 1 1/4 will be to his liking....and he sure is training as if he is ready for the big time
race 11 average clarity
11 Joe Tess the work regiment for the Asmussen 1ster fits a pattern that I have observed in the past for Asmussen and the pattern suggests this is a good colt and he is probably ready at 1st asking
9 Master Appeal well bred sales topper sure is working like he is ready to roll for Cassidy who doesn't win with 1st timers too often but when they do they often pop at a nice price
6 Bad Behavior nicely bred Bob Baffert 1st time starter sure appears ready and when a Baffert 1ster appears ready they seldom disappoint
8 Wine Stock
5 Storm Power
1 Bench Press
