Hollywood for Thursday 23 May 2013

[private]

OK card to start the new week of racing especially considering that in 4 of the 8 races neither one of our top two selections are the morning line favorite.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Tribal Dress   GG invader's 1st four lifetime races fit fine here and they were run on or very close to the pace.......didn't seem to respond to running off the pace in latest.......blinkers on......light weight apprentice up........should be on or near the lead from the get go today

3  Magestic Stinger   good history sprinting on fast track surfaces......broke slowly and tossed head around losing about 4 lengths total.....showed life after that......drops and faces softer today

1  Spooky Lady   filly shows signs of slipping some since being claimed by West........but she is very dangerous if she rebounds especially on the drop down

race 2    slightly below average clarity

3  Swissarella   speed and endurance has been put into this Patricia Harrington 1st timer......Tyler Baze does a nice job with youngsters

4  Daylight's Coming   1st timer was just bought in March 2013 for $130K so the barn pretty much knew what they were getting.......works are very good hinting at this filly having some early speed

6  Kristinite   exactly the same as above but for the sale price which was $80K

5  On The Backstreets

race 3    average clarity

3  Suances Pride   very solid work regiment especially for a first starter of D. Vienna's who doesn't push his stock too hard in the a.m.......and mom has tossed two grass winners from 2 starters

8  Tribal Chatter   improving with each and every start......good work tab hints the trend can continue.......1st on the sod but bred quite well to handle it

1  Lakeside Bride   woke up some with the blinkers put on in her latest......and a stout work-out since hint she might be set for her very best with the switch back to the grass

5  Coconut Cream Pie

race 4    average clarity

6  Baron Von Red   last looks like a turf sprint tightener and it appears to have done some good because the works since are quite good.......1 for 1 at today's distance on the Hollywood AW

3  Joe Carl    fell off in last.......but claimed by Hollendorfer who gives this consistent sort (who might like the Hol AW the most) plenty of time off to recover........should be motoring late as he almost always manages to do

4  Would You   invader is training as if his 1st ever on the synthetic will not be a problem........Autry who struggled last year so far has had his invading stock much more ready to compete in sunny S. Cal

race 5    slightly below average clarity

5  Marinda   all 3 lifetime turf races fit rather well........away for for 8+ weeks but Mandella has her training like she is ready to roll.......good history with Bejarano in the saddle (5 1 2 2)

2  Sweet Assay   2 good looking turf sprints in 2 lifetime races.........1st at a route on the sod but looks loose with a good speed rider up........her breeding to last a mile seems good enough but not exactly a plus

7  Miss Well Molded   good history with Mike Smith up........needs a rebound of sorts and she will be tough if she does manage to bounce back to her "A game"

4  Boller Bomb

Long-shot Possibilities:    3  Villeneuve    invader out of GB sure is working as if she is ready fresh and she should fit fine if she is......jock has been struggling but did show some signs of awakening this past weekend and he is 4 for 4 in the money over the last 2 months for the trainer Ben Cecil

race 6    average clarity

4  Tricky Journey   new (much more dangerous) trainer takes over and a recent strong bullet 6F work-out hints that he has improved this GG invader quite a lot......and the race lacks speed and he appears to have the most

6  Red Heat   all three lifetime races with the blinkers on are decent.......off in last.......back on today........trainer is rather hot..........cut back from route racing to 7F is usually an endurance advantage

1  Buffalo Hills   gelded since his latest and the ultimate equipment change appears to have done him some good as he now is training radically better.......likely to show much more today and at a price

3  Volkonsky

race 7    average clarity

1  Know More   massive figures for this level in 1st two lifetime starts and both were sprint races on AW surfaces........tailed off badly at the end of 2012 but has had plenty of time off to recover from what ailed or bothered him

2  South Floyd    another laid up individual with talent and in his case plenty of early speed for trainer Doug O'Neill to work with (trains our top selection as well).......and he gets a significant rider upgrade for his 1st start of 2013

5  Disarm   has races on the conventional dirt that fit well here but has yet to fire as well on AW surfaces.....has won and ran 2nd on the AW in 3 races on it but will most likely need his best to date on it to find the winners circle here

3  Wine Stock

race 8    slightly above average clarity

7  Ever Alert   solid efforts/figs in both 2013 starts and the conditioner is white hot these days......rider/trainer have won five in a row as a team........no brainer for top selection

3  Soi Phet   solid rebound in last and sharp recent drill suggests more or better will occur this afternoon.......same distance and rider and with a better post to work with

6  Bipartisan   last sure looks like a layoff gimme to drop and go 2nd out after the break just as in did in breaking his maiden on the last day of January

9  Our Boy Benjamin

2  Jay's Firetruck

1  Warren's Joe T.
