Hollywood for Saturday 1 June 2013

Please sign-up as early as possible for those interested in our special full card Belmont day selections (which is only one week from today) as logistically speaking it helps us out some.

Nice race card this afternoon with 4 races rated better than "average clarity".

Best of luck as always!

race 1    slightly above average clarity

5  Kilat    ultra impressive return to the race wars in last in his 1st ever over the Hol 6F grass course.....and I sure liked that this gelding rated for the 1st time of his life

6  Et Tu Walker   has looked stellar in his last 2 grass races both at today's 6F distance........beautiful way of running on the grass at least sprinting

3  My Samurai Warrior   back to Talamo who easily has gotten the most out of this Victor Garcia 4 year old.......seems best off of short rest and that is the case today

race 2    average clarity

4  Skyspy    lead type only seemingly can get loose here and with a 10 lbs. off app. up and a track that has been kind to speed this week so far..........young ride has a shot of never looking back

3  Beer Meister   seems like the best of the late runners........and he is training well for his new trainer Jeff Bonde who just snatched this gelding at the claiming box in his last endeavor

5  Corner Office   another just claimed in this case in a race at GG......and new trainer Greenman sure has this runner working well and working well on the Hollywood surface......very dangerous

race 3    slightly below average clarity

7  Bluegrass Ellie   on the right end of the learning curve.......and owns a solid grass pedigree........decent shot for best ever this afternoon for this filly who might be a grass "move up"

1  Willetta    very similar to our top selection.....improving and nicely bred for the lawn

5  Full's Figurehead   recent drill since graduating in her last hints she has never been better.......1st on the sod but owns adequate breeding to handle it

6  Sharp Bella

race 4    below average clarity  (wide open)

3  Lord Of Ballandrae   tepid top pick is a 1st time gelding and he sure is working as if it has done him some good........owns some early gas and that is somewhat hidden

2  Dark Timbers   rider upgrade and up a notch in claiming following an improved effort in last.....that tells me that Francis Meza thinks that an improved effort is going to occur this afternoon

1  Trouble X Two    work tab for this Sean McCarthy 1ster seems solid.......he has a poor record with first timers but sure is having a good 2013 with his limited starters

6  Winningconnections

race 5    average clarity

8  Woebegon   big "real" fig/effort two back......then almost as big an effort in last when you adjust his number for the fact he dueled in solid pace on a dull inside......did incredibly well to only get beat by 3/4's of a length....as usually he should be in the hunt from the get go

7  Sister Esperanza   classic looking improving running lines hint that a lifetime best is likely to occur today

3  One Magical Girl   11 month hiatus from racing but training exceptionally well for Bill Spawr who sure gets the most out of claimers......like our top pick he should be prominent from the get go

6  Lia Juliana

race 6    slightly above average clarity

7  Tiz Dynamic    off since February since claimed by Baltas.......but........it appears from his stellar work regiment that he has made this 4 year old into a better racehorse......should be prominent from the get go

8  Keyboard Courage   all 3 lifetime races on main track surfaces are solid here and his last is hidden by a poor trip-a-rooo

2  Planet Sunshine   very consistent sort seems to be right there at the wire in every race.......just needs a little more pop/desire in the very late stages

1  I Know I Know

race 7    average clarity

3  Princess Of Pearl   par like efforts all at today's distance in last 3 grass starts.....and par sure looks good here as this is a soft looking field

1  Two Blue Hens   not the best of trips in 2nd lifetime start hides a forward move......and it seems as if this fillies 1st two races might have been sprint tune-ups to gear up and be ready 1st long and 1st on the grass which her pedigree hints will be her strong suit......and we get a rider upgrade

6  Kanotwait   another who appears to be using 2 sprints to leg on up and be fit enough to handle a route of ground

7  Hot And Pleasing

Long-shot possibilities:   4  Winning Rhythm   24 to 1 for a Gallagher 1st timer especially with M Smith aboard and a pedigree that isn't exactly for sprinting has gimme written all over it.......dangerous well bred for distance and turf 2nd time starter

race 8    slightly above average clarity

5  Liason   last 6 races fit well for today's Grade 2 level when you account for any trouble.......like the fact that this quality Baffert runner is now showing some early speed......sure would have been useful in last years Kentucky Derby

1  Clubhouse Ride   never sharper running 3 straight times behind Game on Dude.....runs well in the rail and the rail sure has been a plus this week

3  Kettle Corn   best distance.....best track........but will still most likely need best ever here or "B game" efforts from our top 2 picks in order to win here

2  Batti Man

race 9    slightly above average clarity

9  Dreamnofatticus   bet hard in MSW debut and ran well failing to win mainly because of a tardy start and getting blocked a little in stretch......better trip with the same energy will make him tough here......any move forward would be icing on the already sweet cake

8  Tribal Dude   par or better in all 3 lifetime sprints on the green carpet......owns the best early speed here of those that have started

5  Lucky Cotton   hello blinkers......nice improved effort (ran par) 1st time with the blinkers on in latest.....as good as anyone in here if he builds on the effort

4  Luckbox Sam

1  El Tovar

2  Sailor Takewarning
