Hollywood for Sunday 10 November 2013

[private]

Not an easy card this afternoon especially in the 6th race where I wouldn't be surprised if anyone in the field won the race.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    slightly below average clarity

1  Queen of the Hill   four-year-old filly is a good fresh runner and the works hint she is meant and ready off of an 8 week break in the action

3  Sugar Spice   might get loose in this spot and she better as she appears to need the lead to win......Belvoir runner has never missed the board on a fast track in S. Cal in six starts

2  Inner Grove   declining horse does draw Bejarano so maybe she has one more good run in her.......if so she fits as well as anyone in this F & M $12,500 claiming race

7  Rossi Reserve

race 2    average clarity

4  Echo Zulu   Miller runner needs a confidence builder following 4 straight races without hitting pay dirt........and how nice is it to drop significantly in class and not have to run for a tag

5  Battle Jet   last was better than appears in print as this O'Neill runner was caught 3 wide pressing a decent pace and did well to hang on for 2nd........1st on the synthetic is a ? mark

2  Clouds Clearing   late runner seemingly gets enough heat up front to be motoring late........6 1/2 furlongs should help his chances of getting up in time

6  Horse Laugh

race 3    slightly above average clarity

2  Shared Belief   outstanding MSW debut at GG winning by 7 with a gap of 3 more to 3rd.......and........more importantly popped a 109:2......bought privately and ends up with a top notch conditioner of young horses in Jerry Hollendorfer.........works at Bhp are impressive so I highly doubt the change in racing surfaces will hurt any

4  Kobe's Back   also ran one impressive debut breaking 4 slow and getting blocked a length in the stretch and still won going away.......best break better today

1  Papa Turf   big forward move in 2nd lifetime start to break his maiden........good drills since........will either need another solid forward move.......or.........a semi-soft pace as he sure looks like he can lead this affair

race 4    slightly below average clarity

5  High Jinks   weak looking group of filly 50K claimers is screaming out for a new shooter........so this Avila four-year-old (who has yet to show the form that she displayed in Brazil) seems interesting in that she adds blinkers and has a very impressive prolonged work series that says she will show her best ever in the good old U S of A today

1  English Crossing   smooth looking runner once again is likely to get a nice ground saving stalk position.......and I doubt there has been a better position in turf route races in S. Cal

4  Meltarib   Victor Garcia mare always seems to do her best running when up for a tag which she is today

race 5    slightly below average clarity

5  Anita Marie   I never mind a drop after claim when it is a three-year-old running in a race restricted to three because there aren't many claiming races carded for three year olds only......and look who rides

2  Say Say   last sure looks like an over her head turf tightener to leg up and drop back to a level she fits......and she is 1 for 1 on the Hollywood synthetic

6  Toughtoconvince   all three lifetime sprints fit just fine here for this invader who ought to be in the hunt for the win here if she handles her 1st ever on the Hollywood synthetic

1  Bas

race 6    below average clarity

1  Serene Melody   good run fresh off of the bench in latest...... and the work regiment since suggests the same can occur today.......likely to get an up close ground saving trip in a what seemingly shapes up as a reasonable paced affair

8  Shrilanka   big race in 2nd lifetime start in 2012 bodes well for her 2nd out after 13+ month layoff in 2013.....trainer sure has been firing on all cylinders for an extended period of time

7  Woody's Wharf   not much sprinting so reverting back to a turf route is a plus.......owns some hidden early speed.......would be wise to use it here......right rider for the job in Maldonado

3  Legacy

Long-shot consideration:   5  Sealington   no chance to strut her stuff in her last her 1st ever on the grass........she broke poorly and she sat in the rear of a ridiculously slow paced race giving her no shot of putting in a decent close....did well to only get beat by 4 1/2L.....trainer has been firing better than his record indicates

race 7    average clarity

5  Forest Boy   last fits fairly well....but what would be awfully nice is this gelding's effort 3 races back.....might see that effort 2nd out after the layoff and with an impressive 6F bullet drill put into him one week ago

3  Five Palms   Baffert runner sure seems ready to roll and I believe that Baffert thinks this 1st timer fits the Bhp AW the best thus he skipped running him at SA for his 1st out.....very dangerous sort

6  Chief Lion   on the improve with every start and capable of setting some impressive fractions.......so cut back of 1/2 furlong appears to be a plus

7  The Cleanors

race 8    average clarity

2  Miss Lucky Stevens   solid races in both lifetime sprints.........seems likely to get a nice ground saving stalk position.....and gets the position with Bejarano up who sure is riding well

3  Zia Zia Zia   sharp sprint speed here.....likely to be on or near the lead in this spot.....sharp bullet 5/8ths drill hints her early speed is intact

6  Llandudno  ultra consistent late runner will most likely be on the move in the late stages once again.......and Talamo seems like a good fit

4  Scherzinger

race 9    slightly above average clarity

9  Lady Of The Nile   exits a fast heat with a bad trip which works out to be 3L better than par when you adjust for trouble and today's lower racing level......sharp works since.......believe she moves forward in her 2nd lifetime start this afternoon and if she gets a better journey she ought to be very tough to overcome

10  Spirit Of Ten   not the best of trips in mc debut last......and her trainer Julio Canani is quite a bit better with 2nd time starters

11  Swissarella   overdo drop out of MSW racing might make this filly a major factor in this affair as she seems best running on the Bhp synthetic and she likely will welcome a return to it

12  Here Comes Tribal

5  Cheeky Stone

4  Lovely Instinct
