Santa Anita for Saturday 28 June 2014

Great way for Santa Anita to finish off the meeting with a final Saturday card loaded with quality.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

2  Bold Fantasy   solid 1st on the grass in last at GG.......lost by a neck in a 5F affair with a gap of 7 1/2 lengths to 3rd.....trainer is often most dangerous 3rd out following a layoff which is the case here

10  Tribal List  broke slowly and ran wide in MSW debut (which was run last August) showing plenty of life still in the stretch.......off since but training extremely well........bred for the sod........trainer is on fire

1  Hazardous Dreams   solid work regiment for this 1st timer with speed and endurance put into him.......and he owns a decent turf pedigree........seems likely this Gutierrez 1ster is meant and ready to roll

5  Badasmywifeletsme

race 2    slightly below average clarity

2  Shining Son   strange placement in latest as this Baltas runner hadn't shown much on the sod in the past......back to a sprint and his last two sprints sure fit.....trainer has had an awfully good meeting and might add to it here

5  Hope 'n Pray  trainer has been dropping and doing quite well of late with his GG invaders.......so......this four year old gelding sure looks dangerous here up for the lowest tag of his life

3  This Cat's Awesome   back to Baze who has done fairly well with this Sherlock three year old........should be on or near the lead in what has a chance to turn out to be a pedestrian pace

7  Destino

race 3    average clarity

2  Comealongwithme   trainer is very dangerous sprint-sprint-route .....that is the case here for this filly that has an abundance of early speed and can open up a clear lead in this spot.....trainer has had a tough year to date but can jump start things here

7  Up The Alley   claimed by Ron Ellis and it is one I like as this filly is proven at a route of ground on the dirt and she is bred nicely for the sod......enough so she might move forward in her 1st ever on it........Ellis is 9 for his last 30 1st out after a claim

1  Woodys Wharf   blocked in last or might have graduated at today's mc level in latest.....shot here if this filly can break the mold of not being able to fire back to back decent races

8  Nero's Pleasure

race 4    average clarity

2  Downtown Lady   1st timer for Sadler hasn't missed a beat in the a.m. at Slr for the last 10 weeks.....believe Sadler means bizz in debut as he finished off his work regiment for his newbie with 4 consecutive 6F drills........great foundation......fit and ready

1  Summerofsixtythree   Tom Proctor 1ster has multiple drills of merit and the drills are tightly spaced......wound up and ready to roll

3  Southern Sunshine   best ever was in 3rd lifetime start........so......3rd after a long layoff might produce similar.......and if it does........this Miller three year old filly fits as well as anyone in here

9  Everlovin Woman

race 5    average clarity

10  Parranda   broke slowly and ran wide and still managed 3rd in a grade 1.....won a Grade 3 in previous run and it was at today's one mile turf distance....in fact this mare is 4 for 8 at one mile on the sod.....tough post but seems superior by about 3 lengths so if Trujillo can manage even a so so trip he has a solid shot here

7  Habibi   NZ invader has been in training long enough in the USA to be ready off of the long hiatus from the track........and if she is..........she is 6 for 9 on the grass and a multiple Graded winner.......that ought to fit here

6  Moone's My Name   working significantly better for today's race than she did prior to her two previous endeavors and they aren't too shabby.......seems like she has a shot at firing her best ever (at least in the USA) this afternoon

3  Wishing Gate

race 6    slightly below average clarity

6  Cyclometer   powerful races in last two endeavors......seems stout here as well if he can hold form.....never easy to run 3 straight Grade 1 caliber sprints in a row.....we shall see

4  Sahara Sky   bombed at CD in last.......was on quite a roll till he tossed the clunker.......tough as nails if rebounds as both SA and 7F are to his liking

1  Declassify   popped lifetime best in latest and it was off of a long layoff........might be the one to beat if this Baffert charge manages to move forward

7  Wine Police

Long-shot possibilities:   3  Gladding   works for this seven year old have gotten awfully impressive of late........seemingly out of nowhere......and he was quite good at one time........dangerous and at a big $

race 7    average clarity

9  Rovenna   one stout runner since the blinkers were added 5 races back......lone grass race was at today's one mile distance and is quite good.......pressed a blistering pace and still held on for a close 3rd......since has learned to rate......that versatility is such an advantage for a speed type

4  Morning Fix   GG invader has done little wrong when running on the AW or the sod.....last two grass races fit well effort/fig wise

8  Clenor   examining her running lines you can see that this O'Neill runner is 3 for 3 on firm turf when running with Lasix at the distance of 1 mile.........gets all three today......dangerous

7  Famous Alice

race 8    average clarity

3  Clubhouse Rules    can inherit the lead and win if the 1 and the 2 both go hard after the front end and end up hurting one another.......remains sharp in the a.m.

2  Fury Kapcori   never better and like Game on Dude he can handle an abundance of pace......like his chances if he either gets loose or chases the "Dude"

6  Majestic Harbor   won for fun at 1 1/2 miles two pack.....just ran his lifetime best at 1 1/8th in last........1 1/4 looks like a really good fit........should be flying late if a hot pace develops

1  Game on Dude

race 9    average clarity

1  Mr Lexis   left Peru on the improve including winning his last which was his 1st ever on the sod.......in the Miller barn now and working as if he is doing extremely well for his new connections

3  A Red Tie Day   won like a good thing 1st on the grass in last.........hot trainer......hot rider.......good post......highly likely to be a factor here

6  Back to Bako   improving sort and nobody is hotter right now than Heap who lately can do no wrong.........might fire best ever this afternoon

9  Snaps

race 10    slightly above average clarity

2  Whine for Whine   strong layoff run/win and it was his 1st ever on conventional dirt........looked totally under control past the wire.........that and 3 solid works since hint at an even stronger effort

1  American Pride   strong final time and strong pace in layoff last.......does have to cope with quite a few speed types starting outside of him or would easily have been top pick-a-roo

7  Final Step   both lifetime races for this Miller runner are strong and his debut is hidden by a bad trip.......off since Oct. but training as if he is meant and ready to roll as he was in his debut where he would have crushed if he wasn't caught wide pressing a fast pace

3  He's Had Enough

10  Celebrity Status

5  Endless Curve
