Los Alamitos for Saturday 12 July 2014

Good card this afternoon. On the 1 to 10 scale let's call it a 8.

Best of luck as always!

race 1   slightly above average clarity

4  Secret Ovation   rested......well worked and well worked at Lrc.......2 for 4 at six furlongs........most of career fits solidly here

5  Runaway Wildcat   1 and 4 are likely to force one another into a fast paced race..........late runner steps way up but should be motoring late if the anticipated hot pace develops

race 2    slightly above average clarity

3  Shaniel   very impressive work tab for this O'Neill 1st timer especially the last bullet gate work clocked at SA in 58:2......bullet gate work at Bsr is also impressive.........rather sure ready and ready with plenty of potential

4  Next Book   consistent sort has lost by no more than a neck in 4 lifetime starts for Marty Jones .......and we get a rider upgrade for today

6  Smogcutter   didn't fire for Baffert in 2013 in 3 lifetime races.....but.......sure is training like he can run some for his new trainer in Dan Blacker........Trujillo is aboard and his jockey/agent seem to be getting him on live mounts at the Lrc two week meeting

race 3    average clarity

4  Broadway Bella   drops a couple of maiden claiming notches.......route turf efforts/figs fit solidly here if this Canani filly can duplicate the efforts on the dirt at Lrc.......trains well on the dirt at SA especially considering the racing level

6  Stracciatella   handled her first ever route endeavor in her latest rather well.......might need a little more today if the 4 handles the dirt.......a.m. work hints that more might occur

1  Wine Country Wanda   hard trying sort fell off some in last......likely needs a rebound today......maybe 1st time blinkers can provide the catalyst for one

race 4    average clarity

6  Senor Rain   layoff run in last is better than appears in print......ran wide on a good rail day at SA on June 12th..........a series of 3 nice drills at Lrc since.......good history at 7F

1  Los Bambinos   toss out last as this Baltas runner isn't much on the green carpet.......very sharp a.m. work of late.....like our top selection Los Bambinos appreciates the seven panels

7  Timeless Indy   very good history running in two turn conventional dirt races......a little more to prove at 7F..........but he sure is working well for Richard Baltas with the blinkers off for today

4  Dynamo Dixie

race 5    slightly above average clarity

3  Rowdy Dylan   solid MSW debut at SA 5 weeks ago.......3 very solid drills at Slr since.......believe this Miller two year old colt wasn't all that wound up for his debut as he went off 11 to 1 in a 6 horse field........so........more sure seems likely today

1  John's Success   1st timer is working as if he is meant and ready with a prolonged work series at Bsr........just bought at sale by O'Neill and company so they pretty much could see what they were getting

6  Litigation Road   exactly the same same comment as above applies to this O'Neill 1st timer with the drills being at SA

8  Spin Forty

race 6    average clarity

7  Sizzling Lassie   best early speed in this affair and retains the ever so hot Joe Talamo.........good history on conventional dirt

3  Ghost N Your Heart   laid up since 20 Feb. but runs well fresh.........proven with Iggy Puglisi on her back........great spot to ready as she fits this condition claimer well.........and the seven panels looks like a good fit

2  Igotnosixies   decent route grass race in latest......might appreciate the turf to dirt scenario......might come motoring late when others are tiring if the grass did muscled this mare up some

1  Metaxa

race 7    average clarity

4  Heir Kitty   Grade 1 sprint winner last winter at SA has been away since April but is training exceptionally well at Slr and draws Talamo.......seems meant and ready to roll for Peter Miller

5  Amaranth   getting better with each and every race and her latest (which was her 1st ever on conventional dirt) is quite good.......very dangerous invader from up north

1  Tres Belle   deservedly steps up fo Baffert into her 1st Graded affair following back to back solid alw. wins at CD........nice (4 3 1 0) record on conventional dirt surfaces

7  Doinghardtimeagain

race 8    slightly above average clarity

1  Relatively Correct   1st time Jeff Mullins is often a good thing.........and all 4 lifetime route races fit solidly....likely tough here

4  Doubledeesonthetee   not really a conventional dirt horse buts ships in seemingly very fit from GG.......turf runners at GG have been doing decently on the Lrc dirt

3  Jeffry's Pride   best running "long" and finally gets to after a steady diet of sprints.......but.......likes to hang in the stretch and steps up quite a bit......highly doubt a winner

5  Bright Ocean
