Los Alamitos for Friday 5 December 2014

Nice job by the Lrc maintenance crew providing a fast track and a fair racing surface following all the rainfall. OK card this afternoon. Hope to keep the good times rolling

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

NOTE:   11  Aaron's Thunder has a shot if he draws into the field from the AE list.

7  Dance Dee a Door   hit the board in all four career starts at three different tracks and all at today's 5 1/2 furlong distance............last was career best.........and the effort is hidden by a 3 wide trip on a somewhat rail biased day.......reassuring 4F gate work since.......likely has held form

10  Speedy Tornado   likely to be in this affair from the opening bell......best ever in three lifetime races was his lone effort on conventional dirt........rider had a miserable meet at Del Mar.......maybe the new environment and decent mount can jump start his mojo

3  Sterling Wagers   trainer might have passed on running this 1st timer at Del Mar as the a.m. work was less impressive than what he showed at SA........conventional dirt at SA.......conventional dirt at Lrc..........and Adam Kitchingman is quite a better than average with mc 1sters

9  Sonic Fever

race 2    average clarity

4  Half Dome Dude   tossed a clunker in latest but has been given ample time to recover........sharp bullet 5/8ths work 11 days ago.........trainer finished up the last meet kind of hot..........gelding is a ton if he rebounds and I obviously believe he will

2  Caliente Cat   42% win - 75% in the money for trainer Justin Clark in 2014 with 60 starters......yikes-o-rama........with that in mind the significant step up for this gelding might be a piece a cake especially considering the five year old is 1 for 1 at the distance

8  Warren's Jeff G.   best at Lrc and seems best at today's 5 1/2 furlong distance..........solid a.m. preparation..........seems ready for a top effort back at a track he appreciates

5  Just Call Me Al

race 3    average clarity

1  Sweet Renata   not one work showing for this Craig Dollase 1ster that is dull.......a good sign of a youngster (and especially a two year old state-bred filly) who has some ability..........good record for Dollase with 1st timers.......he has won 13 of his last 48

6  Bad Ju Ju   broke badly and then rushed displaying plenty of early speed in her MSW debut........two drills since and the latest drill (a near bullet 4F work) reinforces her early speed.........very dangerous speed horse with a good gate break today

9  Slew's Charm   seems best in abbreviated sprint races........5 1/2F qualifies for that.........decent chance this Harrington two year old filly is doing well as Bejarno (and of course his agent) see fit to take the mount for the 1st time ever........and.........the filly is capable of running better than par when she is "right"

5  She Got Away

race 4    average clarity

5  Desert Madam   on the improve and his last is quite good nearly winning today's condition despite a tough trip.........wide and bumped on a good rail day........very tough today with the same effort/energy and a decent trip

3  Swissarella   toss out last......hates the Dmr AW........lone lifetime race at Lrc is very solid ........so you would think the connections would pull out all stops to have their filly sharp for today for this is a very brief (Euro style) meet

7  Diamonds Dena   4 career starts and the only good effort (and a winning one) was her only race at Lrc........gets first time Bejarano........Mark Glatt won with a 1st timer yesterday as our 3rd choice at a price.........he might be in full go mode for the meeting

2  Amina Perfect

race 5    average clarity

1  Yodelmesomemagic   chased an extremely fast pace two races back at Lrc in a mile race and she left from the 1 post just like today.........believe that stout speed will put her loose on the lead making her quite dangerous.........and she appears capable of stalking if need be

10  Afleet Echo   much improved since switching to route racing.....three year old filly has preformed awfully well in 3 route races not to have graduated.......deservedly gets a little more time between starts this time around and is training well......seems poised for another strong race

3  Mango Reward   filly owns multiple races that fit well here......but her only race on a conventional dirt track was a poor effort run at SA.........trains well on the conventional dirt at Slr.........deserves another shot on the "real thing" that Lrc has to offer

5  She's Discreet

race 6    average clarity

7  Zandai   5 1/2 furlongs seems like a very good fit......seems likely to be in the hunt from the get go and be in the thick of things late just as he has been in both 5 1/2 furlong races

10  Wabel   solid work regiment for this Bob Baffert 1st timer but a difficult post for a debut runner to break from at 5 1/2 furlongs at Lrc.......or.......I would have selected him higher

5  Pocketball   decent high priced maiden claiming debut just 8 days ago at Dmr.......likely exited the race in great shape for his connections to wheel him back so quickly and step him up

1  Cimpl Man

race 7    average clarity

4  Tacit Approval   very quick 1/4's at Lrc in both of her 1 mile races with an apprentice up.......should be loose here as she was in those 2 races but today she switches to a much more accomplished apprentice........very danger speed today

6  Swiss Lake Yodeler   all three times Bejarano was in the saddle on a main track surface this Hollendorfer three year old filly fired strong efforts......and he is back up today

7  Fleet of Gold   consistent sort when running at today's one mile distance........ lone race at Lrc was solid........par like........1st time Mike Smith might help the horse get over his seconditis

2  Gracie Ragazza

race 8    above average clarity

5  Unbridled Loyalty   only her 5th career race in over 2 years so why not drop to th bottom mc level........last work is faster than most in this affair have run in a race.......claim me if you dare.......the kind you don't want in your barn (most likely) but the kind you can support at the windows

2  Militant   appreciates the abbreviated 5 1/2F sprint distance.......both races are better than par......has been compromised by wide trips but finally draws inside......usually a better deal in races 5 1/2F or less

6  Warren's Sunny Boy   handles the Lrc surface decently.......running lines go like this:  good effort.......bad effort........good effort.........bad effort...........good effort ..........bad effort..........hmmmmmmm

1  Undrgroundrailroad

7  Rose Warrior

9  Vron Helsing
