Thank you.

Santa Anita selections for Saturday will be posted sometime on Friday night as I know many of you leave for the track or OTB early on Saturday morning.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    above average clarity

2  Dress Code   consistent sort was just snatched at the claiming box by Peter Miller who is solid 1st out after a claim.........nine year old steps up but catches one soft looking $10K field

4  Bluegrass Reward   bad claim for $16K.......get out time running for $10K seven weeks later if of course he isn't totally shot

5  Fast Mast   drop will help quite a bit........if of course his health has remained intact

race 2    above average clarity

3  Sunday Rules   3 for 3 lifetime crushing her competition in all the races........has run well fresh in the past so she likely will again especially off of a prolonged strong work regiment........likely in command from the get go

4  Scherzinger   very nice main track sprint history ( 7 4 1 2) our top choice she is quite capable of running fresh off of the bench........big 6F drill just 5 days ago........feeling great when it counts the most as in right before a race

2  Wasted At Midnight    R Mandella runner needs her best ever.......recent drills hint she might give it

race 3    below average clarity

6  Esmeralda Belle   most impressive work tab by my book for this filly two-year old........hints of speed in her works and gets a good gate jock to ride........and that rider Edwin Maldonado is 3 for his last 7 for Periban with the other 4 hitting the board.

3  Jackeeattackee   good-looking works at Dxd (Utah) for this two-year old filly 1st trainer has plenty to prove......but mom has tossed 4 winners from 4 starters and ALL of them were able to win at 2......seems dangerous even if I was the listed trainer

4  Princess Pippa   jock is dismal with maidens but the trainer is usually dangerous in these early two-year old races

5  Lil Miss Awesome   low % trainer.........only cost $1K at sale.....but the works are rather good at Golden Gate

race 4    below average clarity

4  Smart Transition   jock seems to be waking up from the doldrums some.....both lifetime races fit .......last two preparatory drills for today's race hint this colt has never been sharper for John Shirreffs

2 Far Out Kalee   Baltas won the last time he sent out a 1st timer in a route a.m. preparation.........especially the last five works which are tightly spaced and with a couple of works of merit

6  Solomon Northup   monster effort in last which was on the turf.......broke slow - ran wide.........1st on conventional dirt but ran well on the AW in Ireland and owns a pedigree that ought to handle the "real dirt" as well

race 5   average clarity

2  I Don't Care Who   good history at SA........set a torrid pace on a slightly dull inside in last and rightfully trainer for today in Baltas........and the way Mullins has been going of late........that is a positive........away two months but I like the re-freshening with a nice work regiment......all systems go

4  Gladding   seems to be on the rebound in the a.m. and the step up in claiming following only a 3rd place finish at 25K supports the notion.......dangerous ex- Stakes horse

6  Muchos Besos   likes SA and has never missed the board in 6 races at today's dirt distance (6 2 1 3)......should be motoring late

race 6    average clarity

2  Bistro Lights   Mark Glatt isn't much with time starters on the grass but this three-year old is training too well to ignore........nice prolonged work regiment with a few eye-opening works.......decent pedigree for the sod

8  Roy H   another 1st timer seemingly training well enough to be ready in his MSW debut......good grass pedigree.......good rider trainer combo of late in Baze & Miller.......sounds like a law firm and they might lay down the law here

1  Currency Exchange  needs a rebound to his effort 3 back......Belvoir is good at rebounds.....danger city

6  Darwin's Dilemma   broke slow in MSW debut on the hill.....way too far back for the pace being set up front......did well to make up about a 1/2 dozen lengths

Long-shot consideration:   4  Fueled by Bourbon   nowhere in lone lifetime race last drills for Blacker who doesn't push them too hard in the a.m.........bred to greatly appreciate the green carpet.......dangerous at a price

race 7    above average clarity

5  Molten Image   last two races for this Art Sherman five-year old are better than par efforts.......and now the gelding seems to be doing better in the morning........that'll do

6  Carlsbad Mountain   laid up since June and drops significantly and with works that hint this is not a tune-up.......Bruce Headley historically wins about 20% of the time with laid up runners of 3 months or more

1  Papa Turf   last two races both at routes fit.....but has something to prove sprinting so 3rd choice

7  Warren's T Baze    cold trainer.......but.......lone conventional dirt sprint for this horse is his best fig/effort in 9 lifetime races......trainer seems due

race 8    average clarity

5  Seve's Road   the efforts and figs run last summer in 2 MSW races (one on the sod) for this O'Neill runner fit fine at today's lower level.......and he returns as a first time gelding with a set of drills that suggest he is meant and ready fresh off of the bench......and look who rides for the 1st time...........Bejarano

4  Ink Well   lone race on the grass run 3 back fits and is well disguised by a bad trip as in too wide of a run......better speed in last two races with the blinkers reassuring work since his last........should be a player down the hill this afternoon

3  Madikwe   Sadler 1st timer is working well enough to be considered in his mc debut......T C Baze is riding awfully well and his agent is getting him on live runners

10  Stellar Act   three-year old sure fits at today's lower level but no Desormeaux today........instead gets a low % jock (on the turf)

7  Dothraki   plenty of hill experience.....1st time gelding and an improved 4F work.........drops........dangerous

2  Sharpener   another 1st time so grass race at Tup in his debut......maybe sugery can help move him forward which he needs to do in his 2nd lifetime start
