race 1 average clarity
6 Surfside Tiara solid work regiment at Lrc for this Hollendorfer two-year old filly 1st timer and the Hall of Fame trainer is as good as anyone in S Cal with MSW filly debut runners that train well
1 Undisputed solid drills over at Santa Anita for this MSW debut runner........maybe the best in the field.......so........if she takes to the Lrc surface just as well as SA she should be a major player in today's 1st race
5 Cuyathy trainer always has a few youngsters every year the perform "big" in their MSW debut......this girl's a.m. prowess hints she might be one of them
race 2 average clarity
5 Warrensdollarsigns seems likely to get a nice outside stalk position in this 5 1/2F affair and that was quite often a great position to be in in last year's 5 & 5 1/2 furlong sprints at Lrc
6 Swiss Heart decent enough history at Lrc......deservedly steps up following 4 straight good efforts at a notch or two lower......aging trainer is likely thrilled to be racing at his home base
1 Tempetuous sure appears to be the best speed in the race if she handles her 1st race on conventional dirt as well she handles the all-weather
8 Awe Gee drops and she handled the Lrc well in two starts last year.........seems to be slipping but she has the right to rebound with ample time off to recuperate and back on the Lrc surface
race 3 average clarity
7 Navy Hymn best looking work tab in this weak looking field of MSW runners.......and was just purchased at sale in May........so the connections got some indication of what she can do
8 Mesa Sky Peter Miller 1st timer shows some solid drills now and then......and as stated above it wouldn't take much to win this MSW affair if of course there isn't a "ringer" in the race
3 Passau shipped all the way to Belmont for a MSW turf debut race......so so run.....back home on the dirt for start no. 2 and her dirt work at SA is quite good
5 Quantum Force new trainer John Brocklebank is starting to cool off some but he still owns a strong record with two-year old runners and he has this first time starter working decently
race 4 average clarity
6 Warrior Thatcher best ever was her lone race at today's 5 1/2 furlong distance and it is disguised by a bad trip of about 8 or 9 lengths of trouble......still not much of a fig but....this seemsingly is as weak as it gets for a mid priced maiden claimer is S Cal........and.......her recent a.m. work is vastly improved suggesting trainer John Cortez has tweaked something very much for the better
1 Express Checkout so so MSW debut.....but drops into maiden claiming for start number two.....and blinkers on and just worked a decent looking 4F work.....might move forward quite a few lengths......and definitely needs to
9 Claudita decent improvement in 2nd lifetime start both in pace and final time......two reassuring works since......not out of this soft looking race by any means
3 Avo needs a drop.....gets a drop......might awaken versus softer competiton......and awakening here has a shot at getting her to the circle of joy
race 5 above average clarity
1 Turnover stands out here if this Baffert four-year old gelding returns ready off of the layoff....and the way in which he is working hints that he will and might even fire his lifetime best off of a 1o month hiatus
3 Inexcess Time best ever was his lifetime debut.....that bodes well for his chances of being ready fresh off of the bench today....and his decent preparatory work regiment supports the notion
5 Better Bet layoff last (went off at 55 to 1) sure appears top be the gimme to drop.......and go go go today.......still........he will need one of his lifetime best efforts to beat of top selection
race 6 above average clarity
4 Xingontothebone should take this if he displays anything close to his last effort and gets a so so trip.......horrid trip versus better in last (slightly slow out of the gate and then 4 wide up close to the pace) and still was able to snatch 3rd......I am slightly concerned the he might regress off of such a vastly improved run......but even then he still might have a shot at taking down this MSW race
5 Bully Pulpit OK debut MSW race running 4th beaten about 8L and did so with about 5 1/2 lengths of trip trouble........went off at odds of 31 to 1.......so....... I doubt he was all that cranked up.......should be today
8 Tribal Roar only four works showing for this Brocklebank 1st timer but they are all decent.......would have rated higher if he had worked a few more
3 Counterplay broke slow and then showed some life in maiden debut......two reassuring works since.....likely to move forward....to what degree is the ? mark
race 7 average clarity
3 Mucho Blessings seems highly likely to be in a nice ground saving stalk position......never raced lower and appears well prepared in the a.m. with 4 works showing since her May 30th race
9 Goose Bumps already appears to be the best ES in the field and adds blinkers today........seems likely to be loose in her 1st ever route race and with a good speed rider up
7 Delaney's Joy woke up on the grass at GG in latest......might have muscled her up some for today's dirt race.....four decent drills since her last sure suggest that it has
8 Class Divine on the improve and then tried the lawn and tossed a clunker....back to the dirt today......somewhat likely to move forward......... and she will need to
race 8 average clarity
4 Kentuckian two of her three lifetime sprint races are dynamite........1st at a route but owns a pedigree that should handle one......powerful work tab........significant early speed.......seems to have all the ingredients for her 1st race around two turns
5 Prospect Park solid return to the race wars in last following a 9 week break.......two nice 6 furlong drills since........believe T C Baze will take back some and mop up as many as he can on turn 2 and the stretch
race 9 average clarity
9 Beyond Lucky decent ES in this spot.....lone lifetime win came starting from the outer-most-post.....draws the outer-most-post here.......not much speed inside of her......sharp in the a.m.....that'll do
8 Lady Now improved quite a bit in her last and the effort is hidden to some degree.......earned a strong "Santucci" adjusted for trouble figure.....would have been top choice if she had shown a work since here last which she hasn't
3 Yawannagokid no shot in latest as 7F appears to be too far..........cut back to 5 1/2F can give her a fighting chance here
2 Rock N Bunny woke up some in latest......only needs slightly more today to hit pay dirt today........seems like a 50/50 proposition that we will see it
1 Haaay Sexy Lady improving but off of short rest intervals (12-22 days)....but today she will need to perform off of 49 days rest......not impossible but not so reassuring either
6 Lady Dash recent form isn't too hot.......needs to find her ability that she had last winter
