Del Mar for Sunday 29 November 2015

Los Alamitos starts a 12 day meeting (that includes two Grade 1 races) on Thursday December 3rd that runs through December 20th.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

6  Cool Green   ran a solid race in his 2nd lifetime start off of ample rest (47 days to be exact).........48 days off this time around and draws a better post ........should make a good account of himself

2  Sundar Drums   best early gas in the race and gets a major league rider upgrade........good meeting for Maldonado after he had to deal with a prolonged slump

4  Diablo Caballero   hard trying sort would have broken his MSW in last but was rightfully DQ'ed.......recent works are quite a bit improved.......cut back of 1/2 furlong seems like a plus as he tends to flatten at 6 1/2F.......might be up for best

race 2    below average clarity

4  With A Twist   seems like a good claim by Hess and company and they kind of luck out as they have a great spot for this consistent grass runner as she is (8 5 1 2) at one mile on the turf and 2 for 2 on the Dmr grass course

7  Artistic Charm   a touch leery of this filly being put up for a tag........but........ ever since a claim can be voided in S Cal because of their physical condition drop down runners have logically been firing at a higher rate

3  Bottle Blonde   very good history when mare has been up for a tag.........3 wins and 3 2nd's in last 6

5  Grazenette    SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

Long-shot consideration:   9  Shysheisnot   you think this filly could use a drop ..........$2,590 in earnings for 2015.......time to cut the red ink.......and look who accepts to mount .........Joel Rosario

race 3    average clarity

1  Purrin' Proud   improving two-year old runs like he wants a route race and gets one today.......should be a factor from the opening bell and seems likely to save ground.......a solid player here

7  Wise Tale    trainer has been in the doldrums for an extended period of time but might jump-start things here with this MSW drop down that showed good route speed in his last

6  Fin de Semaine   67 to 1 in MSW turf debut gimme.......seems muscled up from the route grass race as his a.m. work since his debut is vastly improved.......go today

4  Start a Runnin

race 4    below average clarity

1  Bird E House   ice-cold trainer in Michael Pender to his credit has improved this fellow and he finally puts a top echelon rider on this gelding who closed well at today's 1 3/8th turf distance......should be player here if this gelding has held form......that is somewhat debatable the way the trainer has been going these days

5  Unusually Green   could have won the version of this race run on Nov 5th if he had more room on the last turn and the stretch...........solid reassuring 5F work since.......retains the meetings top jock in Bejarano (what's new).......0 for 22 Puype might get the monkey off his back on closing day

3  Nahem   consistent sort and improved since Hollendorfer claimed him back on 31 July......as usual this 7 yr old should be a factor from the get go

12  Boone Docks    SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

Long-shot consideration:   9  Life's Journey   the further the better for this gelding who usually out runs his odds.....and I am rather sure he will once again this afternoon

race 5    above average clarity

1  Perfect Set   stumbled at the start and then ran wide running 2nd at 1  to 2.........3 wins and 3 2nd's since Holendorfer took over and added blinkers.......owns a pedigree that screams "long" distance

4  Ike Walker   on the improve since O'Neill claimed.......distance is a ? mark but O'Neill can do little wrong these days.....decent shot to beat our top choice if he handles the 10 furlongs

2  China Girl Lover   yet another on the improve with a change in trainers.........ran quite well at today's same level in a marathon grass race where he was wide  and too far back in a pace-less affair........back to the turf today which he might prefer........not out of this by any means

7  Ice Cream Truck

race 6    average clarity

5  Frank Conversion   ultra impressive 1st ever on the grass in a race down the SA hill.....wide up on a hot pace and still won.....earned an adjusted for pace and position fig that is better than par for today's level.......1st at a route is the ? of course.........decent pedigree to get a mile of turf....hot trainer

10  Dressed in Hermes   best off pace ability in this Grade 3 two-year grass race......and does this race ever look as if it sets up for those who stay off of what should be one hot set of fractions......all three of this gelding's lifetime grass races fit

7  Hot Ore   both lifetime races on firm turf fit well in this spot........two year old has shown he can fire fresh........8 weeks fresh today

11  Imperious One

race 7    average clarity

11  Arabian Leopard  training vastly better following a muscle him up route grass race.....rather sure fires lifetime best today back in a dirt sprint......a dangerous proposition when Baffert is the trainer of a two year old MSW

1  Triple Clown   highly likely that this is a good 1st timer as Peter Miller is getting this youngster to train awfully well.........would have been top choice if he hadn't drawn such a difficult post for a two year old first starter

5  Hoffenheim   so so MSW debut especially by Bob Baffert standards......but.........of course he might have needed the race.....if so....... a small move forward could put him in the mix for a visit to the circle of joy

2  Bistraya

race 8    below average clarity

14  She's Not Here   2 for 2 at Dmr and his last win at Dmr was very impressive running wide in a Grade 2 and still managed to win..........ships in from Ky off of some stout a.m. work.......crazy day yesterday as far outside posts did way better than average in two turn turf races ......so much so that I have doubts that it was a coincidence......so where normally I might toss this gal.....I obviously am not today

9  Filimbi    very solid history at one mile on the sod and especially so on firm turf.......and I sure like when Mott points a horse for a particular race and gives a confidence building prep race as he did at Bel on 1 Nov......ready to roll for a hot rider/trainer team

6  Crowley's Law   another who consistently is very competitive in one mile turf races......and 1st time under the expert guidance of Peter Miller is often a dangerous thing

11  Orolda

Long-shot consideration:   5  Curlin's Fox   responds well to being fresh and she is 2 months fresh today........ran (and won by 4 1/2L) in a stellar 133:25 on 14 Aug in her lone lifetime grass race at Dmr.......lookout if she is up for that effort today

race 9    average clarity

6  Rim Nick   best looking work regiment for an O'Neill 1st timer in quite some time and that sure seems like a dangerous proposition considering how hot as he has been of late

11  Miner's Light   big effort way back in July just missing the winner's circle despite a wide trip in a stout field......been away since.........should be solid here if he returns the same individual

8  Trump Diesel   very solid work tab for this Miller 1st time starter.....and mom has tossed 8 winners including 2 Stakes winners.......colt went for sale at 150% more than the sire's average sales price

3  Mighty Moses

1  Danzing Candy

2  Uncle Lino
