Los Alamitos for Sunday 6 December 2015

Race card might be a little too chalky mostly because of the small fields but I do like the card in spite it. Not one race did I ever considering rating "below average clarity". Be back in action with you on Thursday.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

1  Lexie Arleen   5F seems like a good fit for this Pederson four-year old filly as her 5F splits in races run at 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 furlongs are strong as compared to most of today's foes.....seems likely to get a nice stalking trip

5  Seeking Safe   two of her last three races run fit solidly here at today's lower level........1 for 35 for the year trainer is a concern.........as is a low percentage jock.........thus 2nd choice

2  Warrensdollarsigns   2 of her last 3 races fit well here......and retains the services of Maldonado who is back to riding aggressively and in top form following a slump......should be rolling late

race 2    average clarity

6  Ceeme Run Wild   par like sprint in her latest her 2nd lifetime start..........nicely bred to handle her new endeavor that is route racing.......sprint - sprint - route pattern is a good one and especially so with the expertise of someone like Jerry Holledndorfer

1  Mrs. Norris   on the improve with every start and now she is asked to handle a route of ground for the first time for her 4th lifetime start.........Eoin Harty is stout with this kind.......filly is training like she's up for top effort

5  Edgy Girl   Doug O'Neill is very dangerous when he snatches a high-priced maiden claimer..........nice 5F work since the claim......like her pedigree to appreciate the two turns......dangerous potential

race 3    average clarity

3  Kelbaker   claimed way back in Feb by Miller and company......showed little in her lone lifetime race but was bet to 2 to 1 that day hinting she owned some ability.......and the work regiment she is showing for her new trainer hints that she is primed and ready for s strong return to the race wars

5  Just Bookin   consistent sort running on conventional dirt including 2 2nd's in 2 races at Lrc......nice recent sub 47H work at LA.......does need to overcome a tendency to hang in the stretch

6  Chicago Angel   seems to prefer one turn races of late.......1st ever at 6 1/2F but she has run 2nd in her last two endeavor at 7F.....like our 2nd selection she starts looking for her friends when she puts her head in front..... Baze knows her bad habit well having been aboard for 6 of her last 10 races.......that should help

race 4    above average clarity

5  Golds Venice   her only 2 route races on conventional dirt stand out as her 2 best lifetime efforts.......same post and same rider up as her winning last and she might be facing easier today.......I am impressed and admire the way Peter Miller isn't afraid to lose a horse

4  Vegas Bound   over her head in last 3 races.....back to the level (and the same surface and distance) that she last won.......Maldanado has had live mounts and he has made the most of those mounts at this new meeting

race 5    average clarity

5  Love Forever    showed plenty of life in all 4 career starts the last of which occurred back on Feb. 7th.........returns with a new trainer who sure gets the job done with limited (28 to be exact) starts in 2015 (28% win and a stellar 798% in the money)......a.m. work says he has this gelding primed and ready to roll

4  Bookworm   1st out after the claim which was 13 months back........1st time gelding and a good-looking work regiment....as good as I can remember for a Becerra runner for the given level in many a moon......dangerous

1  Jonny's Choice   likes the distance.....handles the Lrc surface.....and most importantly seems to appreciate ample time between starts and gets it

3  Player's Charm

race 6    average clarity

2  Mudge   2 for 2 at Lrc ( and 0 for 14 elsewhere) and one of those wins was at today's one mile distance and it just happens to be her lifetime best.......connections will likely be all out to win as there are only so many opportunity's to run at Lrc

1  Flyin for a Living   another who appears to cherish the Lrc surface.......filly has won 2 of her last 3 competing at Lrc and one of those was at today's two turn distance

3  Summers Dignity   both dirt races (and run at Lrc) since the fronts were put on fit well here.....retains Maldonado who so far has looked awfully good at the new meeting

race 7    average clarity

6  Guns Loaded   seemingly sets up for a mid pack runner like this first out following the Miller claim (and 1st time running as a gelding) four-year old who appears well trained........meant.....and ready for his new connections

4  Basmati   might get an outside duel or stalk position which has been a good thing for most of this week at Lrc

2  El Nino Terrible   checked very hard in latest giving him no shot to compete whatsoever........showed plenty of life especially considering it was his 1st race in over one half of a year......show be a player

7  Oh Daddy Oh

race 8    above average clarity

2  Avanti Bello   last race is solid here......and his effort 2 back is exceptionally strong and totally disguised by a wide trip up near a solid pace after veering out some at the start......Cal bred looks like a good one capable of competing in open company

5  J Serino   might have run as well as anyone in his latest (and at 55 to 1) which was at today's level......better trip and the same effort and the circle of joy might be doable

7  Drean Team   on the right end of the learning curve and trained by a Hall of Fame trainer who is still at the top of his game in Bob Baffert.....not out of this by any means

9  Follow Me Crev

race 9    average clarity

8  Afleet Domination   well proven at a route and most in here have never run one.......1st time gelding.......good work tab......and drops 2nd out after the claim......a superfecta of reasons to place on top

3  Academic Affair   trainer Terry Knight is by far at his best sprint - sprint - route.......and that my friends is the scenario here.....two year old trains quite well on conventional dirt and finally gets to run on it in lifetime start number 3

1  High Step Arch   impressive work regiment for this Guillot 1ster........not too crazy about the apprentice named........but ........if Cassidy Clerrise stays clear of trouble......... lookout

6  Sunny Truce

7  William Crotty
