Nice looking 11 race card this afternoon. Be back with you tomorrow.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

2  Hadfunlastnight   handled the step up of 3 levels quite well in his latest and now pulls back one level........and he just put in his best work in a long time.......and he has versatility being able to compete on or off of the pace

7  Giant Ego   seems at his best on conventional dirt (not too shabby on the synthetic either) and he might have spent too much of his career running on the grass.......last race fits and his effort two back is very solid running way too wide on an inside biased day and with a low % jock up

4  Alpine Luck   much improved since the blinkers were put on 4 races back.......exits two consecutive fast heats where running 2nd was no easy task......solid brother team in Keith & Kent

1  Royal F J

race 2    average clarity

5  Velvet Mesquite   owns 6 wins down the hill whereas the rest of the field combined owns only 4........retains Desormeaux who has looked good on this mare's back in her grass races........seemingly needs something to go wrong (trip or form) for her not to be a major factor in this affair

2 Nite Delite   dangerous early speed type on firm turf seems like the most likely early leader in this race and with one of the more dangerous front running jocks aboard in Maldonado

4  Qianna   very strong late kick down the hill for this five-year old mare......should be in the picture very late but closing fast

race 3    average clarity

(#13 Stir Fry  has a shot if gets in)

10  Yavrig   Baltas 1ster has been able to work every 6 days since 16 Feb and finished off her work regiment with 2 consecutive 5/8ths gate works.....sure seems wound up and ready for her debut

3  Dancing Sunset   race run 4 back would take down this race.....but her next 3 would not.....needs a rebound to somewhere close to her "big" effort........drops and shows a decent work and has decent speed........dangerous potential

8  Tribal Thunder   owns some good early gas and cuts back one furlong in distance and gets the successful 5 lbs bug boy Lopez......that might all add up to a dangerous front running type

12  Sunshine Laura

race 4    average clarity

5  To the Bar   best preparatory works for a laid up Ellis runner in many a moon.......and most of time when he legs up new son-in-law Talamo the horse is "live"

6  Fusaichi Samurai   two solid sprint races in two lifetime starts........good pedigree to get a two turn affair.....continues to train like a happy healthy individual

1  Second Summer   good record running 1 mile to 1 1/16th miles on the fast rated dirt or firm turf (5 1 2 1 1)......back to Bejarano who owns this gelding's lone lifetime win in the only time he has ridden....should be closing fast late

8  Iancol

Long-shot consideration:   2  J Serino   recent a.m. work hint at a wake-up........race 4 back might do the trick and today there is a much higher percentage jock up

race 5    average clarity

11  Cool Green   tough post but exits a very fast heat where he was only beaten by 1 1/2L for the win vs open company......strong work since.....might be able to deal with 3 or 4 lengths of trip trouble and still win......hot jock stays up

6  Heat   should be on or near the lead from the get go and likely saving ground.......four year old has been a better grass runner since the blinkers were removed 7 races back

7  Lord of Choas   solid debut.......tossed a clunker in his 2nd lifetime start but I noted that she entered the gate somewhat washy.......2 straight bullet drills since......OK route pedigree.......rebound seems likely......but if you can you should check her out late to make sure she's not washing out again

3  Country Road

race 6    average clarity

5  Princess Kendra   all three races at SA with the blinkers off fit fine here.......blinkers remain off for today.......Pedroza remains on......trainer is win-less at the meeting........sure could use a win

7  April Fools   Proctor sure seems overdue to wake-up from the doldruns.....maybe here as this filly ran decently for going off at 17 to 1......likely wasn't all that cranked up.....might be today

9  Holidayincambodia   Miller is very dangerous with MC 1st timers and this three-year old filly is training as if she is ready.....would have rated higher if it wasn't for the dismal history Blanc has with debut sprint runners

6  Lil Jessica

race 7    average clarity

7  Unusual Storm   Machowsky brings back this filly following the claim at the same level and with a patient 4 works series to turn her around some.......and he puts up Maldonado who is 3 for 5 over the last couple of months riding for the trainer....blinkers on......expecting more speed today

3  Altaira   consistent sort and retains the meets leading rider in Bejarano.....that my friends is a dangerous combination

6  Cacica Dulima   laid up over a year but makes a significant drop......her trainer Matt Chew is solid off of long layoffs and with a nice return (profit) at the windows the last couple of years or so

8  Alyeska

race 8    average clarity

6  Stormy Liberal   rider upgrade and for an O"neill runner who has fared well down the SA hill grass course.......should be in this affair from the opening bell......needs to go off form not to be a major player here

7  Fueled by Bourbon   colt just fired his best dirt race and he is better on the grass and especially at 6 1/2 furlongs down the hill where he in 3 for 4 in the win column.....also gets a jock upgrade....solid a.m. work......hard not see him being a big factor in the outcome of this race

4  Bench Warrant  colt has been facing better without much success so being put up for 62.5K makes sense.....he has one fun late kick to watch.....not impossible to buzz on by all of them in the very late stages of this race

3  K Thirty Eight

race 9    average clarity

2  Tara's Tango   usually I dislike an equipment change following a win (especially a Grade 2 win) but in this case I believe Hollendorfer discovered something that suggests this filly can improve with blinkers.......as her a.m. work has never been better

7  Taris   much more dangerous Stakes horse since this mare trained by Simon Callaghan learned how to run a little off of the pace.......Grade 3 win daylight 2 back......then a Grade 2 win by daylight.......Grade 1 race today

3  Penwith   sharp Grade 2 win at GP in latest.......must have exited the ace in great ship for her trainer to ship her x-country for today's race........sure seems to fit fine......Mike Smith's only mount of the day

race 10    average clarity

7  Tuscany Beauty  very solid works even by Headley standards for a debuting three-year old filly Cal-bred.........should be tough from the get go with a good gate jock in the irons

2  Ready to Hula Lula   bet hard in MSW debut to favorite and ran fairly well....set a strong set of fractions......Bejarano will try to slow her down early so she has something left when push comes to shove late

8  Watch Me Now   bad trip in MSW debut breaking poorly and running wide......and I like the step up out of maiden claiming.......can be a major player this afternoon if she receives a better trip as I believe she will in the capable hands of Desormeaux

11  Correlation

race 11    average clarity

5  Cardiac   should be on or near the front saving ground from the get go........lifetime best was the last time she ran at today's 1 1/8th turf distance in a 200K Stakes race way back in May 2015.......nice reassuring recent speed like 4F work.......seems ready for a top effort

4  Small Town Cop   good history with Bejarano up and he is aboard today..........one win and one second at the distance on the turf.......should sit mid pack about 3rd, 4th, or 5th at the 1/2 and save ground.....seems tough here

3  Press Baron   trainer is often at his best 3rd out after layoffs and that is the case here with this seven-year old.....last two efforts at 1 1/8th miles on the sod wound up producing a 2nd and win.......dangerous and at a big price

12  Buymeabond

1  Royal Banker

11  Tattenham
