Santa Anita for Thursday 31 March 16

Purchase for Saturday's Stakes (8 total) races at Gulfstream Park is $24.95. Purchase all 5 special pubs for 2016 and save money.

OK race card this afternoon and Friday's appears to be quite good.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Gato Pimiento   impressive improvement 1st out following the Miyadi claim........ran way too wide and was still in the mix in the late stages at today's same level.......3 reassuring works for the $10,500 so 2 lbs off......should be tough

5  Upbeat Tempo   needs to lead and has a decent shot at snatching it here......cut back of 1/16th appears to be a father-in-law/son-in-law trainer/rider combo

2  Zim N the Mailman   all three fast track efforts since Maldonado took over the riding fit well here ........and two very reassuring work-outs since his latest......not out of this by any means

7  Warren's Wesley

race 2    average clarity

2  Allsquare   solid forward move in her 2nd lifetime grass race for the ever dangerous Phil D'Amato.......seems to be in the driver's seat ........up close in a nice ground saving stalk position

6  Princess Ashlyn   been away from the game for over 9 months and returns in a much higher percentage barn at least for 2015/16.......seems likely to try to open up a nice lead and hold on.......good rider/trainer combo over the couple of months in Desormeaux/Black

4  Briartic Girl    decent efforts in two dirt races in 2016.......lone turf was better than appears in print and she likely needed the effort as it was her if that is true she should be ready to show what she has on the sod today

5  Lynne's Legacy

race 3    average clarity

5  Wife Approved   sure appears tough if her good health has remained intact as she drops out of the MSW ranks and off of an effort that works out to be better than par for today's much softer level.......cut back from one mile to 7F is usually a plus

9  Stardust Melody   decent shot to clear from her difficult post......and if she does and is able to set a reason set of fractions she might to be hard to wheel in down the stretch

4  Charlie My Love   sprint-sprint-route scenario for this Gallagher trained filly and the two lifetime sprints aren't bad.....trainer has quietly had a nice meeting at SA

2  Proncess Kendra

race 4    average clarity

5  El Huerfano   eye-popping powerful wide run on a good rail day in his last his 1st ever at a route on conventional dirt......and in his only other race on conventional dirt he won a small Stakes race breaking the 109 flat barrier and didn't get the best of trips......seems as if he has spent too much time competing on the AW or the turf

6  Whiskey Ticket   won the "Run for the Dandelions" Illinois Derby at Haw. in 2015 impressively........been away since June but sure fits if he is fully ready.....and his a.m. work hints that he is.......and........he won as fresh as it gets as in his maiden debut which was also at one mile

2  Tribal Jewel   step up in class......1st time Bejarano.....and sharp work in the morning all suggest this Baltas seven-year old is feeling good......likes the SA surface and seems best at today's distance......dangerous

race 5    average clarity

3  Doodetta   by far at her best down the SA hill (5 2 1 2).........seems like a good claim by Diodoro who wisely keeps Bejarano up even though he doesn't use Cal's best rider very often

6  Pica   drop makes sense as she has managed only one win since Truman claimed her back in mid June.....and the claim was still 10K less than she is up for today.....seems likely to sit close to the front which is usually a slight advantage down the hill with the rail 30 ft out

7  Little Bit Lovely   consistent sort on any surface or distance (15 3 5 4)........and........1st down the SA hill turf course might fit her as speed turf route types like her often fit the SA hill quite well

9  Vanlose Stairway

race 6    below average clarity

7  Black Tie 'n Tails   won maiden debut like a good thing and has trained as if he will show even more today which he likely needs to........and like his debut he should be in the mix from the get go

5  True Ranger   broke his maiden by 6 lengths 1st time with blinkers way back in August.......then his layoff run in his last is quite a bit better than appears in print......more time off but a work series that says ready.....jock will be out to make amends

4  Fans On the Run   moved forward in his 2nd lifetime start and 1st time with the meets top gun up......Bejarano stays up again and when Truman uses Raffy his horse's are almost always very "live"

8  Loyalist

race 7    average clarity

5  West Coast Storm   very good history when she is able to keep in contact with the front end of things....and that appears likely here.......and one stout rider/trainer combo in Bejarano/Baltas at the helm

2  Charming Starlet   last 3 of 4 races run fit fine here including her last which was the version of this race on 21 the switch to Maldonado for today in that he likely will have this mare placed closer to front end of things which might be necessary to succeed with the turf rail 30 feet out

1  Miss Star Maker   2 for 2 (and won by daylight) the only 2 times this filly was on a loose lead......and she has a shot at getting loose today

4  Peggy Sue's Loose

race 8    average clarity

8  Gymnast Jadie   so so final time in her 2nd lifetime start and 1st on the dirt but not pace wise.......stalked a very quick pace for the MC20K F & M level....that quickness has a good shot at putting her on a loose lead.....and if that occurs she likely is the one to overcome

10  Dixie Dame   stout record with blinkers off on a fast rated track.......(5 0 4 1).........seems likely to stalk the lead from the outside.......trainer is super in this MC races

5  Warren's Honey Bee   seems best taking back early and I believe the barn realizes that now......rider upgrade for today......potential to be a dangerous late runner

7  Turf Club Queen

6  Let the Girl Go

1  Sweet Lu
