Santa Anita for Friday 10 June 2016

Don't miss out on purchasing full card selections for Belmont Stakes on June 11th. 13 race card with the smallest purse on the card $90,000. Six Grade 1 races - two Grade 2 races - one Grade 3 race. Full card selections will be sent to your email on Friday evening.

Santa Anita selections will be posted by 6 a.m. pacific time on Saturday and most likely much earlier than that. As for today I found the card tough to decipher.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Ok Doll   1st on the lawn & 1st at a route but owns a pedigree that should handle recent a.m. work.......and back to Bejarano who owns the only win for this filly in his lone mount on her.......likely will attempt to go gate to wire which quite often is a plus with the rail out 30 feet

3  Do the Dance   last looks like the dirty her up race to place some doubts in the claiming vulture's minds.....if that is true she should be a major player in this one mile grass affair

1  Reckless Charm   sprints fit fine but to date she has lacked endurance when routing.......might deserve one more shot at two turn grass racing as both of her grass routes were in Stakes races

race 2    below average clarity

3  Agronomy    woke up some with the blinkers off for the 1st time in latest.......and today he gets to run off of short rest for the 1st time in his carreer.......and......... he just worked a best of 31 bullet 4F work since his last.......sitting on lifetime best

4  Handful of Stripes   1st time running as a gelding........1st time running in a maiden claimer albeit a high-priced one........should be in the hunt from the get go

5  Gavin Streetsense    both lifetime sprints fit decently here.......42 to 1 route (gimme) endurance builder in last without regular rider Bejarano up......Raffy is back up today.........hmmm

race 3    average clarity

5  Emmzy   seems like a runner that wants the lead so breaking poorly in her last sure didn't help that she is going "long" for the 1st time today because if she breaks well I believe she will be loose on the lead for the 1st time in her career.....and....... she is bred to run all day long

2  Eileen's Girl   1st on the dirt after two useful races on the turf......better early speed in her latest and seems to have some speed put into her in the a.m. since.....seems likely to get a nice ground saving stalk position at least thru turn one.....and that is often 1/2 the battle

1  Caradini   seems best running off of 3 weeks rest and gets that here........likes the track.........likes the distance......but.........likes to hang

race 4    average clarity

4  Lucky Shoes to Win   failed in last maybe because he has a limit endurance wise and seems to dislike anything longer the 1 1/16th.......drop makes some sense as so far he loves the SA surface and hasn't done much (decent) running anywhere else

1  Native Ride  appears to be a bad claim by Garcia......still.........if he wins this at 1/2 the claiming price the owners still make a small profit

6  Being There   best late kick in the race can't be ignored......and he has worked decently 3 times since his 8 May race......rather impressive for a cheap claimer

7  Mr. Catragena

race 5    average clarity  (AE 12  Mr Larson has a shot if draws in)

3  Right Hand Man   very fast 4F bullet drill at Pln on 17 May.......and the two drills since arriving at Santa Anita aren't too shabby either........Jeff Bonde seems to have this colt meant and ready to roll for his MSW

5  The All Button   just purchased for $250K at sale in O'Neill and company got a very good look at what they were getting.....seems likely that he is all set to rock and roll in his MSW two-year old debut

8  Aqua Frio   another who was just bought in March in this case for $180K........nice works at GG and I sure like the fact he finished off his work regiment with back to back 5F works......should have plenty of endurance to get today's 5F distance in his MSW debut

9  Beantown Boys

race 6    below average clarity

8  Midnight Candy   big awakening in her last with the blinkers removed and the effort is somewhat disguised by a wide that she is able to come back off of shorter rest today.......1st ever at 1 1/8th is a question mark

7  So Good to Go   fairly consistent sort and she appears to be screaming out for more distance.......gets it today......would have placed her on top if it wasn't for the invading trainer's record at the meet so far (4 0 0 0)

4  Enduring Erin   Miller has woken up of late and he sure appears to have this six-year-old mare all wound up and ready to roll fresh off of a 4 month layoff........and she is 1 for 1 at today's distance

1  Zanbo

race 7    average clarity

4  Dream Team   it appears to be a whole new ball game for this well-bred very expensive Baffert colt who for the 1st time rated and won in his last.....and won big......Bejarano remains up and now he knows he has "options" as to where he wants this four-year old to sit

2  Kristo   five-year old had his sprint tune-up which should have him prepared for today's route race.......he seems likely to attempt to get the jump on the field.........try to shake loose.........and wire the field as he did two races back

6   Desert Dynamo   seems best at Santa Anita......and of late he also seems best when taken back some.......hoping that will be the strategy today

race 8    below average clarity

8  Shanghai Beauty   good-looking works for the given level......and mom has tossed 4 winners from 4 starters.......and this Callaghan 1ster appears to face a soft field in his maiden debut

3  Redeeming Quality   last was somewhere between OK and decent.....but the cut back of one furlong sure appears to be a positive for this Miyadi four-year old filly

2  Patience Lady   2 races run at Lrc are a strong fit here......his 2 races at SA are not......needs to break the mold

7  Hilda

4  Little Like Anna
