Santa Anita for Friday 24 June 2016

Seems like a decent card for today. Let's call it a 7 on the 1 to 10 scale.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Dupree's Diamond   sure like what I see from Rosemary Trela as she does awfully well with limited regiment over at Slr for this 1st timer sure is strong for the level of this race......believe this 1st timer is meant and ready and that is wise as the connections might lose the horse at claiming box

2  One for My Baby   been away over 13 months following a dull MSW debut at SA but it was on an off track.......toss it out.........barn's been hot.......and this decently bred three-year is training well enough to be ready

5  Lucky Double   blinkers off today for this Periban colt and assuming he worked with them off his 16 June near bullet work suggests the equipment change has vastly improved his ability.....dangerous wake-up sort

6  Aidan's Hope

race 2    above average clarity

1  Arrogate    powerful 1st ever route race in latest crushing his competition in stellar time..........won by 4L with a gap of 7 more to 3rd......should hurdle this stepping stone on his way to better and bigger races in his bright future

2  Fusaichi Samurai   quite the record and figs on fast tracks (5 1 4 0) not to be top selection......not impossible with his consistency if our top selection regresses off of such a monstrous race

5  Chief of Staff   likely will try to jump to the front.....and try to slow things down......and then attempt to hold off the cavalry charge

race 3    average clarity

6  Suavemente   blinkers on seems like a wise move as it appears this three-year old needs a loose lead to win.......( 3 1 1 1) when able to shake free.......and the trainer is one of the hottest around at the moment

3  Fans On the Run   Bill Spawr is often at his very best 1st following a claim when he gives his new shooter plenty of time off between starts.....that's the case here (47 days) and he gets Bejarano to ride who has gotten the most out of gelding in the past

5  Nicaradalic Rocks   should be enough pace in this affair to flatter the late run of this team Desormeaux three-year old gelding.....definitely appears to have the best chance of the late runners signed up for this affair

2  Swiss Minister

race 4    above average clarity

8  Biltmore Boogie   just claimed by Glatt who has put in 2 somewhat improved drills since the claim.....last might do the trick here......repeat of the race 2 back should do the trick here

1  Accelerant   solid layoff run in latest and it was at today's same 7F distance......would have been top selection if he hadn't drawn the rail which isn't the easiest of posts in 7F races at SA

7  Dustin's Passion   like the horse but not too crazy about the jockey change following the claim by Mike Mudaris as the rider seldom finds the winners circle at SA (jock does fine at lesser meets) .....but as the saying goes even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then

3  Northern Iowa

race 5    average clarity

9  Carulli   has enough early speed to clear from his outside post......hope he clears all and gets loose which was the route to victory in his last.....but.....I believe he can also stalk and still have a shot at back to back trips to the circle of joy

6  Swiss Silver   very consistent most of 2016 but likes to hang.......might not hang today because he just put in a vastly improved 4F work.....and.....the cut back in distance likely will help him from flattening out in the late stages

7  Angels Journey   ran 2nd in maiden claiming debut (and placed as the winner by disqualification) at SA in a fast track sprint.....toss out next two endeavors as he caught an off track and then appeared to want no part of the turf........good time to drop and track today......dangerous

3  Motoring Around

race 6    average clarity

2  Hotsy Dotsy   blinkers on for today and just what you what to see as in night and day better works........likely to show much better early foot and of course a better final time (or I wouldn't have placed on top) fig

7  Briartic Gal   decent history running on the dirt without blinkers (3 0 2 1) and all the dirt races were at SA.....a.m. work in preparation for today hints at a happy healthy mare

3  Chao Chom   dangerous looking work tab for this Stute 1st timer.......Gary has a poor history with 1sters but this filly is working too well to ignore....and mom has tossed two winners from two starters one of which was a Stakes winner

1  Malware

race 7    average clarity

3  Passionate Emotion   was on the improve when he had to be laid up following his 27 Nov 15 like she is all set to return where she left off....and if that is the case she has a shot here especially with a significant rider upgrade

6  Star of Munster   hot rider/trainer combo.......and with a horse who is 3 for 6 at SA......does need to put away a couple of other early speed types like himself or would have considered as top selection

5  Gypsy's Rule   race has enough early speed signed up to help out the off pace style that this Hess three-year old filly possesses....rather sure she will be motoring late

2  Wife Approval

race 8    average clarity

7  Mischievous Bull   obviously hurting to some degree but drops multiple levels and catches a very weak group.....the kind you wouldn't want to claim but might support at the windows

5  Summer Chat   three-year old sure has eaten plenty of cash in 3 lifetime starts.....but blinkers on for today and recent sharp drills......and drops into a soft looking mdn20K......dangerous

8  Speedin With Eddie   overdo drop.......last looks like the dirty him up total gimme to put some doubt in the minds of the claiming vultures.......sure fits fine if I am correct in my assessment

1  Speed General

4  Johann's Command
