Los Alamitos for Thursday 8 December 2016

The last 3 opening days at Lrc were outside biases. In fact the track rarely has had a rail bias since they started racing on the new surface and has had an outside bias (to some degree) about 50% of the time.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

8  Pacific Song   lone route race on conventional dirt sure fits well here both in pace and final time......seems in control of the front end and with a rider coming off of the Dmr riding title in Arroyo

9  Big Shorty   was closing late vs. our top choice to finish one length behind the only time he faced him on the aforementioned conventional dirt race at Dmr.....and has the right to improve today as a first time gelding

4  Jack the Closer   1st at a route in his last endeavor and the effort wasn't too bad.....but more importantly we get a rider upgrade to one who is on fire from a guy who had to leave town to try to get his mojo back

1  Moonman

race 2    below average clarity

6  Bishops of Compton   lifetime best and would likely take down this race was run in her MSW debut at Dmr in Nov 2015.......had 4L of trip trouble and only ran 3 3/4 lengths behind the winner despite finishing running fresh off of a 8 month layoff might be just what she needs....trainer was (6 1 2 2) at the last Lrc meeting

5  Truffled   another trainer in Puype who was prolific at the last Lrc meeting with 3 wins and 2 seconds in only 7 starts.....and his 1ster appears to be training well enough to ready for his debut

2  Paradise   like our top selection his best was his debut running 2nd at out?.......not so hot of an effort at SA.......enough time off to right the ship and back at Lrc which is her home base........rebound city.......maybe

3  Just Bookin

race 3    average clarity

8  Goliath's Girl   last time this filly raced at today's lowly level she won for fun......and the race was run at Lrc at today's 5 1/2 furlongs......decent rider/trainer combo the last couple of months

9  Sooner Time   Cerin tends to give little ahead but he has yet to get a win out of this filly who he claimed 10 races ago for 20K.......connections could use a win to cut some of the red ink so they drop multiple levels.......filly runs well on the Lrc surface

5  Faith Pacer   needs a rebound and might provide one as she gets about 8 weeks off and her recent a.m. work is improved.......and she gets one of the best riders on the grounds in Arroyo

2  Aiming Straight

race 4    above average clarity

3  Liana Skye   high percentage conditioner in Wong........filly seems best on conventional dirt and of course gets it at Lrc......good rider in the saddle who can work out a nice trip on or near the lead

6  Warren's Honey Bee   almost all of her races run at today's 5 1/2 furlongs fit well here......that's not the problem.......winning is.......Baze likely will need to be all over her late to keep her from hanging once again

5  Joeffie   by far at his best at his home track Lrc (2 2nd's in 2 starts)  ......low percentage trainer but it seems like a good sign of readiness that one of the better riders on the grounds accepts the mount

8  Zen Envy

race 5    average clarity

8  Kristie's Heart   rebounded some in latest and the effort is somewhat hidden........drops lower once again which suggests she has her physical troubles but she draws a top jock ........hinting ........she has enough left in her physically speaking to handle today's lower level

1  Atlantic Slew   leading rider in the Fall at Lrc in Elliot aboard and he was up for this three-year old runners only win which was her only lifetime race at Lrc......a 4 1/2 length win run off of 4 weeks race........4 weeks rest for today and her last was solid.......hard not to see as a major factor in the outcome of this race

6  Amazing Lady   Truman won with the only starter that in ran in the Fall Lrc meeting........obviously the connections made a bad claim as this three-year old filly had to go to the farm after a win..........that winning race which was her 2nd lifetime start fits at today's level.....but her debut is very strong and greatly she sure seems very dangerous if she returns fully recovered from what set her back

4  Darling Darling

race 6    average clarity

5  Kenda   very solid work regiment for D'Amato and company for this MSW debut runner.....sure like the last 5 tightly spaced (6 days apart) works to finish up her work tab........and 3 gate works were part of that........rather sure this 1st timer is meant and ready to roll

7  Diva La Mousse   Baffert MSW runner is 0 for 4 and counting but if I am wrong about our top choice she sure appears to have caught a field she can handle

10  With Love   10 post was 0 for 6 in sprints last Fall at Lrc but almost everything Van Dyke rides is running better than expected which is obviously a credit to the young rider but also to his agent......only race for this filly on the dirt was a very fast heat where getting beat by 9 1/2L worked out to be about a par effort when you adjust for her trip

3  Street Love

race 7    below average clarity

3  Comes the Dream    strong winning race turf to dirt way back in Feb......all turf since......dirt today......and Smith and his agent see fit to accept the mount.....and this fellow should get a nice outside stalk position

1  Rough Passage    loves the Lrc surface (3 2 1 0) and has a decent shot at getting what he seemingly in the lead.........recent works are quite good as Mulhall wants this guy fully ready to take advantage of his favorite racing surface

2  Shackleford Banks   last sure appears to be nothing more than a turf tightener and today should be a full throttle go......likes to stalk the lead and seems likely to get that position here

8  Over Achiever

race 8    average clarity

8  Concorso   only race at Lrc is easily his lifetime best and pegs him as the one to beat if he is up for a similar effort would think Hendricks has him pointed for this spot to some degree as this might be his last opportunity to run on the Lrc surface for an extended period of time

3  Quorum of Joy   last at Del Mar is better than appears in print.....caught wide up on the pace........both lifetime races at Lrc fit........Mark Glatt has a shot to add to a good year

7  Clude   by far at his best in abbreviated sprint races and yet has been competing in route races most of summer and all of fall......finally.......back to an abbreviated sprint's not rocket science

4  Captain Akers

9  Avila Beach

6  Attack
