race 1    average clarity

5  Kenzou's Rhythm   the D'A is as reliable as they come with mid-priced claiming grass runners like this three-year old gelding.....and you have to like going back to Gonzo after being absent for his last as he is a perfect 3 for 3 on this youngster....all other jocks.....0 for 7

4  Jack the Closer   very consistent sort at GG.....his latest was his 1st on the turf and is better than appears in print with not the best of position and in a fast heat for a Cal-brefd nw alw race......seems spotted well at the 3-year-old 50K level

3  Giro Candito   Jeff Mullins is red-hot especially with his grass runners.....1st on the sod for this fellow as well as 1st at a route.........pedigree for both is up to snuff

race 2    average clarity

4  Individual Design    talk about an embarrassing race for Santa Anita on a Saturday.....5 horse field of 6250 claimers.....ouch.......loves the track.....and the distance......and sure is out training all in this field....hard not to put on top

3  Trinity's Turn   got quite good last winter.....since then she has fallen off some......needs a rebound.....has enough time off to possible provide one......not out of the win picture if she provides one

5  Forbidden Command   double barrel action for Brocklebank as he also trains our top choice......might be a good claim as this five-year old mare has been improving this year one baby step at a time at GG......fits fine if it continues back on conventional dirt which she is proven on

race 3    average clarity

3  My Perfect Gem   plenty of foundation put into this Baltas 1st time starter and a very nice 4F bullet gate work on May 15th.....and then two straight tightly spaced maintenance drills since....believe this colt is meant and ready for his debut

7  Cammy's Music   rider and trainer teamed up to win yesterday's opener and might make it two straight with this three-year old gelding who was bet harder than his form suggested and ran well grabbing 2nd place at today's same MC level......decent 5F work since.....has a shot to move forward 2nd out after the layoff

6  Tiz Indy   improved since the blinkers were put on two races back......still he likely needs more.....but he might provide it with a significant jockey upgrade

4  Mr. Twinery

race 4    average clarity

5  Algorhythmic   five-year old mare has won as many races down the hill as the rest of the field combined.....and she likely feels great coming off such an easy 10 length win finishing with a hand ride.....hot trainer/rider combo to boot

6  Jeremy's Legacy   last was par like for the level but she did flatten out late........so the 6F work that O'Neill put in sure seems like a smart move to build her endurance some.....and she has some solid back numbers and retains Prat....so the potential is there to upset our top selection

4  Shezroxie   very proven fresh and she is fresh today having been absent since late Feb........and she gets Bejarano on her back for this 1st time......likes the hill with a win and a 3rd beaten only 3/4L .......not impossible to upset....... but .......she will need her lifetime best

2  Sturdy One

race 5    average clarity

4  Gypsy Treasure   showed speed and ran 2nd in her MC debut and went off at 38 to 1 in a 6 horse field......likely wasn't fully cranked for the race........away 8 weeks but works look good......1st time blinkers......Solis (who is doing just fine as an apprentice) needs to take advantage of his good mounts as Roman is riding exceptionally well and taking away mounts from Solis

3  Empress Deelites   Michael McCarthy is poor with MSW 1st timers but that is hardly the case with MC 1st timers.....2 for his last 7 with 3 others hitting the board.....work regiment seems good enough.....in for 40K to get 2 extra lbs off......sure seems "meant"

2  Privy   another trainer in Salder who is solid with MC 1st timers like this filly.......sure like the quick 3F work only 3 days ago......hints that Sadler means business.......like our 2nd choice he is entered for 40K to get 2 lbs off.....and.....he legs up bug boy Roman for another 7 lbs off.....such a deal

1  Lostintranzlation

race 6    average clarity

4  Tanners Pride   on the right end of the learning curve and his latest improvement is somewhat hidden........3 wide pressing a fast set of fractions.....sharp quite reassuring work since......gets to carry 2 lbs less today.......should be tough from the get go

1  Scatter the Moon   won like a good thing by 3 1/2 lengths in his MSW debut at Tup despite a wide trip.......work tab since at Slr is solid and then some.......gets the attention of Stevens........feel rather sure this Az invader fits here if he takes to the SA surface

3  Quality Line   fell off some in his latest but still managed to graduate stepping up from MC50K to MC75K......not sure a repeat of his latest would get the job done......but his race 2 back would......trainer has been in a prolong slump so a rebound doesn't have to occur......but rated too low if it does

6  Derby Music

race 7    average clarity

4  Farham   vastly improved eight year old since the D'A took over 2 races back......ultra impressive late kick in his last to run 1:33 flat and win a G3.....4 for 6 at one mile on the sod.....race shape sure appears to be in his favor

1  Heart to Heart   like that this Brian Lynch invader stalked and nearly won  a G1 at Kee in his last.....believe Leparoux will try to do similar today.....seemingly appreciates very firm turf like we have in S Cal as witnessed by 132:3 win at GP in a G3

2  What a View   needs to put away the 1 and 5 to get what he thrives on as in a loose lead.......if he can keep the fractions reasonable he might never look back

3  Bal a Bali

race 8    average clarity

2  Stellar Wind   Stellar Wind is a win machine and has beaten the mighty Beholder who this race is named after.....and he beat our 2nd pick by a dozen lengths.....that'll do

1  Vale Dori   Baffert has had one heck of a year so you know he has this consistent mare feeling awfully good in her attempt to win her 7th in a row.......Bejarano will likely try to slow things down and maybe even let the 4 horse go to the lead......thus......having something left when the "Wind" gets in her face

4  Finest City   believe this classy mare prefers sprinting but things might get interesting if she is allowed to lead and slow things down with Mike Smith in control

race 9    above average clarity

4  Tina's Exchange   strong efforts in all 3 lifetime races with his best ever his lone race down the SA hill grass course.......that effort is better than par......and all his competition are 3-year-old runners.....and I like that Maldonado knows him well having been in the saddle for all of his races

3  Conquest Smartee   bet hard in both lifetime races and wound up with 2nd place finishes.......par like race down the hill back in early March....away since but he sure has shown he can run fresh....retains Prat.....sharp a.m......not out of the win picture by any means

5  Combat Zone   double barrel action from Sadler as he also conditions our 2nd pick.....expensive 1st time starter sure is bred to take to the sod....tough to tell how ready he is but he has plenty of potential if he is

8  Bucky's Pick

7  Aussie Fox

2  Cascade Rock
