Santa Anita for Sunday 11 June 2017

Average card to finish off this busy week.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    below average clarity

5  Tiz Delightfull   1st ever on conventional dirt but training well on it and at SA......last win can off of a 2 month layoff....that is the case today and this Morey GG invader is likely ready as she is up for  tag for the 1st time

2  Social Taboo   might be a nice claim by Ellis of  a filly who dominated to win her 2nd lifetime start and did it off of a 4 month layoff.......Ellis seldom rides Bejarano but he seemingly makes a wise move letting him ride thru the claim

4  Call the Queen   solid layoff win in last......not out of the win picture here if she builds on the effort especially with the cut back in distance.....decent rider/trainer combo

race  2   average clarity

2  Passion for Papa   both races in 2017 run 6F or less fit solidly in this spot......the rider Brayan Pena is riding better than his win percentages suggests and especially so for Hector Palma

7  Patience Lady   decent layoff run in her latest  off of an 8 month layoff.......only needs to move forward about 3 lengths and she fits fine......if she needed her last that seems very doable

6  Yes Virginia   not exactly on the list of who's who of trainers.....but.......this laid up filly is training exceptionally well for this lowly level and that is hard to ignore

4  Lea's Reward

race 3    average clarity

4  Big Macher    one of the better claims of a Cal-bred in the past decade appears ready fresh off of the bench to strut his stuff for Baltas and company ............will be very tough if he is

1  Gold Rush Dancer   another talented Cal-bred training awfully well following a layoff......6F might not be the best distance for him but he retains Prat who has ridden him 6 straight races and obviously knows him well

5  Got Even   been a very long time since route speed-ball Got Even has sprinted......seems noteworthy as Miller who just claimed him back can do no wrong these days......... puts the blinkers on..... and...... the works are solid

race 4    average clarity

6  Kimbear   very impressive in all three lifetime sprints for Kruljac and company and especially so in his latest where he ran 2nd to American Anthem who easily won a Grade 2 as our top selection yesterday at Belmont

5  American Pastime   tons of talent displayed in both lifetime starts and like his MSW debut he once again could have won by 4 or 5 lengths if it wasn't for a bad trip.......Desormeaux will be out to make amends to his buddy Bob Hess Jr.

4  Tell Me a Story   will likely need his lifetime best to upset here....but he is running 1st time as a gelding.....and then there is the 30% win at the meeting Peter Miller factor

race 5    average clarity

4  Spy Ring   believe this filly is better in turf sprints than turf routes and she should have plenty of endurance coming off of a one mile turf route.....Cassidy wisely gets Bejarano to ride again.....should finish up late with vigor

3  Kenda   (3 2 1 0) on the majestic SA hill and showing improvement of late in the a.m.......and she gets the services of the meets leading rider for the 1st time.......usually sits mid pack but likely will be much closer to the front today lacking any true speed types

2  Madame Dancealot   another who has shown an affinity for the hill and will likely sit close to the front....and she did beat our 2nd choice in her latest.......although I rated their "efforts" equally

race 6    average clarity

6  Tiz the Light   pounded at the windows in her MSW debut and ran well but not quite like her 3 to 5 odds suggested.....but she is bred to appreciate the extra furlong and she is the only 4-year-old in the field besides the 1 horse who a 1st starter.....seems like the perfect spot for her 2nd start

5  Classy Tune   nice MSW debut way back in November for this three-year old filly and the strength of the effort is hidden.....trainer is having a stellar meeting and draws the interest of the meets leading rider....she was ready for her debut and likely is ready for her 2nd start as well

2  Ramona Lover   nice forward move in her 2nd lifetime start and a sharp 4F work since....that and the fact the hot apprentice and his 7 lbs break is up hint another 1/2 furlong is doable

3  Tiz My Love

race 7    average clarity

1  Lob City   last two wins came the last two times this mare had six weeks off.......six weeks off for today's race......good post and a better rider than rode in the two wins.......if she wins today? .....earth to connections - give her ample time between starts in the future

2  Mint Julep Taffy   OK race in her latest.......gets a good post today.....and note that Scott Stevens rode her in her latest.....Gary Stevens is up today......I'll take the younger brother

7  Dissension   poor starts in last two races......bad habit developing or just a coincidence?.......hot trainer and hot rider and sizzling hot when they team up........off pace running mare should be flying late especially if she leaves the metal monster better

4  Brookes All Mine

race 8    above average clarity

3  Hitter's Park   toss out last as he set a brutal pace and did so on a dull inside in a fast heat....impressive to only get beat for the win by a dozen lengths....and now he drops into an easier condition.........Miller/Campo combo have won 4 of their last 12 with 3 others hitting the board....sure should add to that today unless this fellow has slipped off of form some

4  Getoffmyback   double barrel action from the Miller barn as he also conditions our top selection.....Miller smartly steps this filly up in claiming price after a wake-up run in her last.....dangerous here if our top choice falters

7  Our Nation   good history running turf to main track......turf in last and dirt today and doing so off of short rest......1st time Prat.....dengerous sort

1  Curly Creek

race 9    below average clarity

1  Lovely Anzi   blinkers go on for today for the 1st time and assuming he worked with them he sure appears night and day better.....lookout if that is the case as this is a weak looking field of maidens

7  Desert Law   broke badly out of the gate in his MSW debut which was on the sod down the hill.......has trained just fine on the dirt......fits  if he handles the dirt as well as the turf and if of course he breaks better

3  Miracle March   like our 2nd selection he also made his MSW debut in the 13 May MSW race down the hill and he also showed some life.....good a.m. work since.....and mannnnnn........ could Peterson use a win

6  Spiritual Warrior

race 10    average clarity

2  Skradin   significant rebound in form in her latest and somewhat hidden by a wide trip......I like that the trainer moves him to one higher alw level where she doesn't have to run for a tag like last time......believe she might be up to running like she did in Argentina in late 2015 & early 2016.....might go off at the highest price on the board and in one wide open race

7  Ticaboo   blinkers off for this mare who has gotten speed crazy to slow her down.......was impressive in her latest as she ran 134 flat setting an unsustainable pace....that was the 1st time she ever ran off the board on the grass....dangerous speed of the speed sort here

5  Bert's Melody   3 for 3 at the distance and she is working as if she is feeling exceptionally good........in fact her a.m. work is the best preparatory work regiment for Sean McCarthy in many a moon

6  Madame Stripes

1  Nodiac

8  Amboseli
