race 1    below average clarity

(if the race is taken off the turf:  2-7-5-8-6)

2  Joeray   nice dirt sprint debut 25 days ago earning a par like number for today's higher level when you take into account that he was blocked on the turn and stretch.....and mom has tossed 4 turf winners with her 6 others turf should be a plus.....distance is a ? mark

6  Heat Things Up   moved forward some in 2nd lifetime start both of which were dirt sprints.....three year old is bred very well to take to the sod and a route.....lifetime best seems at hand today

5  Studly Perfection   MSW to MC today......1st time running as a gelding today......1st at a route today......1st on the turf today.........decent work tab.......good rider/trainer combo.....plenty of changes to make him dangerous

7  Rustic Canyon

4  Magnum Maduro

10  Jump the Tracks

race 2    average clarity

3  Hope She Will   1st two lifetime races both of which were run sprinting on the SA dirt fit well.......filly has been given a nice 8 week break and in the interim she has trained as if she will rebound to something close to those efforts today......four year old filly will be tough if she does

5  Princess Nicole   not much speed in here and she appears to have enough to sit 1st or 2nd down the back stretch in what should be a doable set of fractions.........might hold together quite well with the 7 lbs bug up

2  Curlina Curlina   fairly consistent sort should sit close up and save ground.....but.....she needs to overcome her tendency to hang in the stretch drive

7  Dadlani

4  Grace Hopper

race 3    average clarity

(if the race is taken off the turf:  4-8-2-9-11-12)

8  Halo Ahead   highly competitive in all 5 of her MSW route turf races since Machowsky claimed.......take any of those efforts and they match up awfully well at today's MC50K level.....nice preparatory works.......good history with Bejarano.....hard not to like

4  Tell Me More   filly has been away since Mid June racing out east but returns in a very dangerous barn in the name of Peter Miller....... works hint the sharp conditioner means business with his new shooter who is running on the sod for the 1st time and in a claiming race for the 1st time......pedigree says she should be OK on the grass......drop into claiming obviously helps

2  Arrowspace   should be sitting on the inside thru turn one (at Least) and on or near the front......that is one dangerous proposition with Prat in the irons........ran a solid race in her last off of a 3 month being off 2 1/2 months since is of little concern

5  Paddy Jean

3  Eternal Endeavour

1  Victoria Falls

race 4    below average clarity

3  Princess Kendra   trainer Cerin can do no wrong of late and it appears he made a good claim at LRC for the long SA meeting as this mare is (18 5 5 4) at SA and seems to be improving.....that and we can an apprentice rider upgrade.....from an OK one to the likely Eclipse award winner as the nation's best bug boy

1  Revenue Virginius   away since Hollendorfer claimed this mare in early May.....but he sees fit to drop her and he has put one aggressive work tab into her........Jerry likely realizes he might lose her by way of the claiming box so he has her fully cranked and ready to roll

4  Be a Lady   last 3 of 4 races fit decently and her recent preparatory works are better (and very subtle) than they were prior to her last couple of her chances if she moves forward some which I think she will

race 5    average clarity

12  Gracious Me   no support at the windows whatsoever in her MSW debut (and for a red-hot barn) hints Cerin and company were shell shocked some but the strong debut.......likely wasn't as cranked as she could have been.....likely is now.......easy to place as top pick-a-rue

13  D D's Lute   on the right end of the learning curve and if the trend stays intact this three-year old filly has as good a shot as anyone to take down this race

5  Ms Dupree   work tab for this D'Amato MSW first time starter is impressive and warrants consideration for a possible winning effort....that and Roman took the mount and considering this is a 14 horse field he likely had other opportunities in the race

7  Mischievious Song

10  Gozen

2  Pacific Kitty

race 6    average clarity

1  Easter Morn   lone lifetime race was run 22 months ago on the turf in a MSW affair with Puype as the the race this now 6-year-old showed plenty of life after a tardy start........returns with a new trainer in Richard Baltas and with a prolonged work regiment that screams he is meant and ready

2  Wild Lando   colt has shown life in all three lifetime starts but has numbers that are a little short of what it usually takes to win a Cal-bred MSW race....but this is one soft looking group so he should fit very well

7  Animo  trainer has a dismal record with 1st time starters but the work tab for this gelding is too good to ignore especially considering the aforementioned soft looking group of MSW's lined up in this affair

5  Quick Finish

3  Cayate

race 7    average clarity

1  Lucky Student   the race profile for this race sets up for those close up early and this 8K mare should be on or near the front end from the get go....that she has proven she can deal with the one hole at 6F and other sprint distances........and she gets the meets leading rider and his 5 lbs weight break that he brings

7  Miss Bliss   another who should sit pretty (likely stalking the lead) which as mentioned above ought to be advantageous in this racing affair.....(NOTE: she has run her best with fronts off so check out the post parade if you are able)

9  Southern Treasure  trainer Rosemary Trela year in and year out does a nice job with limited starters.......and she has a filly here who is 9 for 21 lifetime and might feel good stepping up to 8K following a win for 6250 at Lrc (keep in mind they will run races for 6250 at this meeting)

5  Where's the D

2  Nazareth

3  Just Bookin

race 8    average clarity

6  Winners's Dream   race turf to dirt at Aqu on 10th Dec fits......same maneuver here at SA .....and...... drops down quite a bit......1 for 2 at the 6F distance

3  Pomp and Party     filly needs ample time between and starts and D'Amato shows patience and gives it to this filly........3 of 4 lifetime starts fit well at today 16K nw3 level......6 furlongs seems to be a good fit

1  Fair Regis   N Y shipper is coming off an 8 length win at Aqu on 2 December and if she holds that form she should have been rated higher....but......not crazy about the lack of a.m. work 3rd pick-a-rue

4  Papa Mambo

7  Rizzi's Honors

5  Tuscany Beauty
