race 1    average clarity

6  You Gotta Wanna   improving sort and with his latest disguised by wide trip on a day the rail was slightly biased....seems to come down to how much this D'Amato runner takes to the grass in his 1st on it......pedigree for it is decent......turf training abilities for the conditioner are much better than decent

4  Impression   suspicious drop down for this Mandella five-year old who is improving and proven on turf.....but maybe the fact that he is a 5-year-old maiden is the reason the connections are willing to lose him by way of the claiming box and not because of a chink in his armor

2  Traffic Thief   good work tab for this Sadler laid up four-year old who fired his best of 3 lifetime races in his only race down the majestic SA hill grass course.......trainer is 1 for 27 to start the meeting......seems overdue

3  Perfection Tale

7  Moneigh Moproblems

1  Principal Bob

race 2    below average clarity

3  Kaleidoscope   never easy to debut in a route race and win but this Hess gelding did just that with David Hoffmans as the trainer......must have been a private deal to get the three-year-old and they have a good spot to get some returns on their investment as the "Kid" rated kindly in his debut and he seemingly gets plenty of pace up front.....such a deal

6  Big and Loud   might be in need of the Lrc surface to run his best but if that is not the case this gelding just graduated rather easily and has trained since on the SA dirt as if he is really coming around.......and his lone race at SA is better than it appears in print

1   Builder   exits a weird 5 horse field (where he ran 2nd) that was nothing much time wise but the runners behind him at the wire all returned to win their next out......would have rated him higher because of that if it wasn't for the fact he has been absent since that 20 Oct race

race 3    average clarity

3  Big Sky Logan   hot trainer in Cerin and especially so when today's jock is up.......and he is quite dangerous the 1st time he places a given horse in a maiden claimer ........colt has been away since March but his work regiment screams "ready" and both lifetime grass races at SA fit well

1  Acker   drop makes sense as this R Mandella colt has yet to win in 5 races and in each race he had top echelon jocks on his back.......gets one again today and races at a level where his grass races fit just fine

7  Kona Coast   dangerous route turf speed in this spot especially cutting back an eighth of one mile for his 2nd lifetime start.......believe their is a high probability this gelding opens up a loose lead making him dangerous

5  Rak City

8  Wise Curlin

6  Haylord

race 4    average clarity

5  Hot Paris Night   five-year old gelding has yet to miss the board in 6 starts at SA and also has yet to miss the board in 5 races "at the distance"........seems like a ton in this soft looking spot if he is ready fresh off of the bench.....prolonged work regiment hints that he is

2  Spitfire   Koriner takes over the trainer duties from Ron Ellis (who is suspended for a while) of this six-year-old with seemingly some physical issues as this is only career race number 7........his layoff last fits very well but it was 44 days ago and with only three so so works since......not all that encouraging...... but...... if he has held form he is the likely winner of this race

6  American League   Blaine Wright like so many trainers is at his most dangerous 1st out following a claim which is the case here.......his new shooter likely will be able to grab the lead and if Wright improves him just a little.............he............................might........................ go........................ all......................... the..................... way

1  Gentrified

race 5    average clarity

1  Dos Palos    predictable wide trip in last having to cope with the outer 10 post at Lrc.......earned a par like fig when you adjust for his wide journey.....works since hint he has never been better....and he gets a much better post today....seems like the one to overcome

6  Starship Chewy   lifetime best was his lone route race at SA.......that and he gets one significant rider upgrade especially considering the weight off for the dynamite apprentice rider.....trainer doesn't win many but he might here

4  Old School Ike   Peter Miller three-year old has had multiple bad trips in his 5 race career and today gets his 5th different rider.......I like the recent longer drills put into him....... and........ T C Baze is more likely to save some ground and handle him better than some of the other jocks who have ridden him.....that and you know Baze wants to impress Miller and get a few other decent mounts from his "loaded" barn

10  Touchdown U S C

8  High Rise

5  Gryffinder

race 6    average clarity

5  Schooley   last might do the trick but I believe this Miller four-year old moves forward today off of some impressive muscle-building tightly spaced works the last of which was only 3 days ago.....feeling good........and he retains Prat

6  Dial Me In    could have graduated in his last if not for some trip trouble.......retains Espinoza who shows up for only one mount......that seems significant........and Cassidy has worked him 6 times since his 19 Nov race......like our top pick I believe this gelding is sharp right now

9  Bold Papa   gelding might be at his best on the SA turf course...........1st time Bejarano today who gets a shot to keep this six-year-old maiden from hanging in the stretch as he usually does whether it is a turf or a dirt race........maybe the stout jock can get the job accomplished for pal Richard Baltas

8  Save Ground

10  Atonarum

1  Cosmotivo

race 7    average clarity

7  Show It N Moe It   most accomplished runner in the field and that includes money earned.....she looks very sharp in the a.m. prepping for this race and the barn gets Bejarano to ride.......believe Sherlock and company realize they might lose their horse today at the claiming box so they really are going after a win

6  Smiling Tigress   seems to show better early speed on th SA surface and she appears to be very sharp in the a.m. and with speed drills......Baze should sit close up in a race that seemingly will reward those who do

2  Family Guy   been at her best (by far) on the Lrc surface.....but note that the only time she ran on the SA dirt she had blinkers on for the only time in her career and might not have liked them.....if that is the case and she is OK on the SA surface lookout here

4  Carrie's Success

1  Carpathia

5  Silverspun Pickup

race 8    average clarity

2  Selcourt   four-year old filly owns incredible early speed and fresh speed is often dangerous speed......and you know she can run big fresh as she won her MSW debut by 9 lengths and did it setting a brutal set of fractions

4  Cuddle Alert   pace up front has a good chance at being fierce and that should play into the hands of this late running hard trying 7-year-old mare

6  Reverse   1st ever on conventional dirt but her a.m. work on it strongly suggests she should handle it.......and her pedigree supports the notion......and Baltas is one tough cookie the 2nd time out with a new shooter which is the case here

5  Princess Karen

1  Mother of Dragons

9  Dis Smart Cat

race 9    below average clarity

6  Plein Air   marathon turf routes are this mare's game as she is 7 for 9 racing at 10F or further in Italy......that and she races near the front end which is right up Bob Baffert's alley.....works hint Baffert has her all set for her U S of A debut......Baffert is not much of a trainer of top-notch grass horse's but he might have one here....we shall see

11  Evo Campo   this mare always seems to put in big efforts when Bejaranjo rides.....last 4 wins have all been with Raffy up and two of those wins were at today's 12 furlongs......one word of caution is that the post is no bargain

8  Shazara   mare has plenty of effort/energy but usually finds trouble..... but....... not in her last start as our winning 20 to 1 3rd pick........if she gets a decent trip once again she has as a shot at winning this non Graded Stakes race as she appears to want to run all day provided she gets a good journey.....3rd pick again.....and at a big price........hmmm

5  How Unusual
