Best of luck as always!

race 1    average clarity

4  Winning Element   Prat had to deal with the outer-most 11 post in a one mile grass race in his latest.....colt did well to be 4 1/4L behind the winner at the wire in a race vs. better........lone win came when he was up for a tag like today.......gets a good post today

7  Ice Kat   1st time in a claiming race for the four-year old gelding.......2/3rds of his lifetime starts fit very well at today's 40K nw2 level.........not my favorite grass rider but Quinonez but he has been looking better of late on his mounts

3  Nap Lajoie   scenario is:  layoff race was a tune-up just as it was in his maiden debut......next out was his 1st time wearing blinkers and he appeared to dislike the equipment change......next out was a dirty him up race to get away with a drop into claiming with little threat of being claimed......connections can be tricky and lookout if they have been here

5  Uber Star

2  Lauren's Lad

race 2    average clarity

2  True Valor   last two dirt races fit well here and his latest is well disguised by a wide trip up on the pace.....so lookout if his last which was on the turf is the gimme to muscle up like only the grass can do sometimes and be fit and ready to run another good dirt race......3 for 4 on the dirt at SA......0 for 7 on other dirt ovals.....seems telltale

1  Captain Scotty   crushed his competition in a solid winning time in his MSW debut in a race at FG.........shows up 54 days later in the Peter Miller barn with a good-looking work tab.....trainer wins races and might score another with this new addition to his stable

6  Coils Gold   Baffert four-year old colt owns some very nice races but none of them were on the SA dirt......but he sure has been training well on it.....4th time on the SA dirt might be the charm

race 3    average clarity

2  Midnight Cello   East coast trainer has come into S Cal with his stock very fit and ready so far.......Falcone sees fit to drop this 8 year old three claiming levels......sharp 4F work since arriving in sunny S Cal........Pena has one win and one 3rd so far for the trainer

5  Hawk's Eyes   sprint-sprint-route maneuver here.....and......both sprints are rather decent........trainer does well with limited starters.....seems dangerous

4  Roman Tizzy   consistent sort in 2017/18 .......seems better suited for a one mile race than one at 1 1/16th miles.......and his last two at 1 1/16th aren't too shabby......one mile today and gets 4 lbs less to carry......such a deal

7  Rye Patch

race 4    below average clarity

3  Siege of Vicksburg   low percentage trainer these days in McAnally but not with his last 5 debuting maiden claimers where he has won with two of them.....works hint this colt is ready as does the fact Kent Desormeaux wants the mount

4  Son of the South   break did this gelding a world of good as his return to the race wars following an eight month hiatus made for a rebound in form.....add blinkers for today and with very good works showing........and his trainer steps him up ....that says he might be up for even a better effort 2nd out following the layoff

6  Bad Boy Leroy   a.m. work hints this Glatt MC 1st time starter is ready and if he is this seems like a soft spot for a 1ster to debut in.....and mom has tossed 4 winners from 4 starters

2  Cayate

5  Red Obsession

9  Western Warrior

race 5    average clarity

4  Tammy's Window   four-year old filly should get a good trip as she has a few slower horses to her inside which gives Pratt a good opportunity to grab the wood on the 1st turn....if he does it is hard not to see this young lady being a top player in this affair as she seems at her best racing on the SA turf at one mile

1  Scatterling   3rd out following a layoff is a strong stat for D'Amato and that is the case for this mare today.....last win?........6 races back in a one mile grass race starting from the one post with today's rider up.....hmmm

7  Allsquare   double barrel action as the D'A also trains our 2nd pick........mare should be tough with today's drop of a couple of levels.....would have rated higher if it wasn't for the fact Joe Talamo likes to ride this mare wide and she starts from the outside

6  Fahan Mura

2  Quinn Murphy

race 6    average clarity

8  Spend Spend Spend   Brain Koriner is one of the higher percentage trainers on the grounds with 2nd time starters........with that in mind you have to like this youngster's chances moving forward today and do so off a debut effort that wasn't too shabby.......sharp near bullet drill one week ago supports the notion

4  Cognitive  Baffert 1st time starter went for a lofty $500K at sale and sure appears ready to rock n roll in her MSW debut off of many works of merit and copious gate drills ......basically you work many times out of the gate if the horse has a problem with the metal monster or if you are looking to win 1st out.....in Baffert's case it is almost always "looking to win"

5  Mondaymorningblues   three-year old filly has been absent since early July where she ran 2nd at SA in her 2nd lifetime start.......her debut (at two) was a very precious May start and was quite good and a key race.......so she showed that she is capable fresh.......Miller once again will likely have her ready "fresh".........filly will have a good chance to graduate if he does

1  Madame Warrior

7  Haig's Factor

6  Mongolian Window

race 7    average clarity

3  Radio Silence   four-year old ran some very strong races in Ireland at three including a strong 2nd in a G2.........his two races in the USA for Baltas are decent but not as good as some of his races overseas........but......he runs as a 1st time gelding today and his a.m. work hints the surgery turned him around for the better.....like his chances in his 1st on the hill especially with Nakatani at the controls

7  Ky. Colonel   away since Oct 9th but like our top selection he runs as a 1st time gelding today and with a solid work regiment showing......Mandella must really like what he sees as he could race this gelding much lower without the threat of being claimed as his last three 2017 races were dismal......should be a price

8  Incensed   five-year old just missed winning the 31 December version of this race and he fired his best race down the hill of his 4 attempts on it.......and the strength of the effort is hidden by a 3 wide duel in par like pace/fractions.......rider upgrade........two reassuring works since his last......Miller trained......dangerous sort for sure

1  El Tovar

9  Mesut

6  What'sontheagenda

race 8    below average clarity

8  Fivetwentyninefund    two constitutive bad trips hides this gelding's ability....adjusted for trouble fig earned fits well at today's lower level.......struggling east coast jock gets a shot and he best start winning........or........see ya

1  Mac Lovin   three-year old needs his effort 3 back which was the last time he ran at today's 5 1/2 furlongs.......and if he provides it today he should have been top pick-a-rue

4  Moon Juice   both races run at SA fit fine at today's lower level......that and he gets a rider upgrade this afternoon......rated 3rd selection mostly because of  the lack of works showing (one) since his 30 December race

3  Ministertomyheart

7  Geocas Dream

9  Thunderwolf
