Santa Anita for Sunday 11 March 2018

Difficult card today. Take note of the early 11:30 a.m. post. Be back with you on Thursday.

Best of luck as always!

race 1    below average clarity

If the race stays on the turf:   9-5-12-2-4-1

If the race is taken off the turf:   4-9-5-6-2-12

race 2    below average clarity

7  All Net   trainer David Jacobson is often quite dangerous 2nd out following a claim which is the case today for this three-year old filly.......believe her latest on the turf which appeared to be a total gimme sets her up well for today's dirt race

4  Oh My Soul   good move forward in her 2nd lifetime start and now drops a notch for her 3rd start.........not out of this by any means if she makes another move in the desired direction

5  Summer Down Now   doubt her last will get the job done but her MC debut 2 back might get the job done and the effort is somewhat disguised by racing away from the rail and a day the rail was biased

2  Magnificent Q T

3  Bragging Rights

race 3    below average clarity

If the race stays on the turf:   5-6-10-4-3-1

If the race is taken off the turf:  6-3-11-7-2-8

race 4    average clarity

6  Smoovie   nice improvement in her 2nd lifetime start......and she might be up for another as the blinkers come off for today which is a strong Doug O"Neill move and supported by an improved 5F drill on March (assuming she worked with them off)......Cal-bred in open company but she still seems to fit well in this semi-soft MSW spot

8  We All Have Dreams   decent MSW debut 65 days ago running hint she is ready to roll once again off of the 9 1/2 week break........fits fine if she is

5  Mela Jones   believe her turf route debut was nothing more than a public work-out to muscle her up and build up her endurance for her dirt sprint this afternoon.......the fact Nakatani sticks around supports the notion

4  Cyrielle

3  Mojgan

race 5    above average clarity

8  Justify   not much more to say than this three-year old earned a number in his MSW debut that is Kentucky Derby like figure.........what a bummer for Van Dyke to lose the mount to Mike Smith

3  Pepe Tono   running for 2nd unless the top choice dislikes two turns or doesn't care for a drying out track

2  All Out Blitz   dangerous speed if the drying out surface ends up causing a rail bias......and it better be a very strong one if he wants to overcome the incredible ability of our top choice

4  Shivermetimbers

1  Curly's Rocket

race 6    below average clarity

If the race stays on the turf:   8-5-10-7-13-1

If the race is taken off the turf:  2-6-1-14-13-3

race 7    average clarity

5  Kochees   vastly improved since Jonathan Wong claimed 3 races back......ran an effort for 8K in his last that still works out to a big number for today's 16K level........hard not to like

6  Top Brass   another coming off of a lower level race (12,500 claimer) that is still solid for 16K is the 1st race following the claim by Metz who is decent 1st after a claim and very good with getting a given horse to produce back to back wins.....not out the win picture by any means.........pun intended

2  Matriculate   better suited to one turn races and his latest at one mile is not too shabby........1 for 1 lifetime racing at 7F.........trainer Bill Spawr has won 3 of his last 8 with the sprint-route-sprint maneuver

1  Airfoil

3  True Valor

9  Well Measured

race 8    average clarity

If the race stays on the turf:  5-8-10-3-6-7

If the race is taken off the turf:  7-11-10-4-5-6

race 9    average clarity

7  Friendly Request   returns to the races off of an 11 Month layoff with works that hint she is ready to roll fresh......and if she is and returns 80% of what she was she should be solid at today's significantly lower level

10  Quiet No More   blinkers off for today 1st out following the O'Neill claim.........and with a best of 3F bullet drill 6 days ago.......rather ironic if she shows much improved early speed this afternoon with the blinkers off......seems dangerous and maybe at a bit of a price

6  Velvet Jones   lifetime best was run 2 back at today's 7F and the strength of the effort is disguised by running inside  on a day the rail was not the place to be......1st out after the Jack Carava that Baze rides thru the claim

2  Outa Here

3  Princess Dorian

9  Lovely Linda
