a Special publication for Gulfstream Park on Saturday 31 March 2018. Stakes races only.

Seems like a good card and the weather forecast is for a very nice day in South Florida.

Next special pub is only two weeks away!

Best of luck to all!

race 4  GP  Culter Bay   average clarity

3  Speed Franco   seemingly never better in the a.m.......and the three-year old colt is capable on the lead or stalking the lead.......that versatility combined with a rider upgrade should enhance his chances of ending up in the circle of joy this afternoon

5  Neepawa   should sit in a nice (most likely) ground saving position with 2 runners in here much faster early and 2 in here much slower early.......that and his a.m. work since his last racing endeavor on 3 March has never been better.......lifetime top today might be in the cards and if it is he should have a shot at one of the top two slots here

1  Therapist   the only time that this colt was able to run off of relatively short rest he moved forward significantly.........short rest today and like our 2nd selection he should be in a good mid pack position hoping that the 3 and the 4 push each other too hard early

race 5  GP Sanibel Island   above average clarity

1  Amertume   bad trip in her MSW turf route debut and yet she still managed to graduate........settled down in her 2nd lifetime start where she had a nice stalking trip to run 2nd in a G3.........appears as if she will get the same trip today and with one rock solid rider/trainer combo in Velasquez/Peltcher

8  Best Performance   away since 3 November where she ran 2nd in the BC Jv filly one mile turf race......she has shown she can run fresh in the past.........might have made top choice with a better post......the outer 8 post might hurt her more than most as she tends to run wide

5  Got Stormy   three-year old filly is on the right end of the learning curve with few reasons not to believe her progress won't continue this afternoon..........two consecutive preparatory bullet turf works support the notion

2  Figarella's Queen

race 8  GP Hardacre Mile    average clarity

2  Always Dreaming   plenty of time off for Pletcher to right the ship for last years Florida and Ky Derby winner.......and he showed that he can run off of a long layoff with an 11 length win in a route race at Tampa run in stout time for a Jan. 3 year old

4  Irish War Cry   colt is (3 2 1 0) in one turn races.......and he has shown that he can handle significant early fractions and still stick around.......last fits and he might move forward 2nd out following a 5 month hiatus from racing

5  Tommy Macho   seems at his best by far competing at GP in one mile chute races like today.....rider has had a phenomenal meeting including 7 wins on Thursday......6 year old is not out of the win picture by any means

race 11  GP Honey Fox G2   average clarity

2  Lull   seems best on very firm turf and should get that today......seems to need a target to run at and should get a couple of targets in the 4 and the 5 horse......when you eliminate her races at the funky turf course at Kee (many just don't take to it) she owns a nice turf record

3  Stormy Victoria   very good when she gets ample time between races.......9 weeks since her last qualifies for that.......that and she seems best on the GP turf course (3 1 1 1).......worse finish of those 3 races was 1/2L beaten 3rd place finish

10  On Leave   ultra consistent sort is (6 4 1 1) at the distance on the turf and that includes a G3 win at GP in her latest overcoming a wide trip.........would have rated higher if it wasn't for a very difficult post

6  Grizzel

Long-shot consideration:   1  Glory to Kitten   if she ever wins a Graded race it likely will be at GP as she is 1 for 9 on other grass courses but a perfect 5 for 5 at GP.......not impossible with a good trip......and likely a good price

race 12  GP  Oaks G2   average clarity

2  Coach Rocks   quite the wake-up in her latest and it was the first time the meets leading rider was aboard.......seems quite noteworthy that Saez doesn't jump ship.......might be because the works since her significantly improved race are stellar......believe she will be in the mix from the get go and tough thru-out

9  Princess Warrior   might be very muscled up coming off a turf race and running 2nd out following a layoff......and if that is the case she might be flying late as the 2, 3 and 5 might really heat things up early

3  Take Charge Paula   filly can run and win on the lead without it.......and she is rather consistent to start her career (8 5 2 0).......she handled a one mile route race albeit a one turn route.........still unproven around two turns but if she can handle them she should fit fine in this Grade 2 affair

5  Daisy

race 13  GP  Pan American G2    below average clarity

3  Hi Happy   seems highly likely to get a great trip behind the a suspect leader at the distance of 12 furlongs in the 9 horse.......and with top gun Luis Saez in the saddle this fellow should be awfully tough at today's marathon distance which suites him well

7  Bigger Picture   ultra consistent at the turf distances of 1 3/8 & 1 1 /2......that and one of the better turf jocks around in Jose Ortiz sticks around and he knows him quite well with numerous mounts on this seven-year old gelding.....hard not seeing him in the mix in the late stages of this race

2  Bullards Alley  very solid when he brings his "A game".......not sure if he has an "A" in him today but if he does he will be a force to reckon with

8  Sadler's Joy

race 14  GP  Florida Derby   average clarity

6  Catholic Boy   significant Grade 2 win two races back at Aqu and it was accomplished at today's 9F distance........that seems an advantage as nobody in the field has run that far little lone win........believe his last at Tampa was used more as a stepping stone rather than an all out effort to win.......solid a.m. preparation......and a rider upgrade

8  Audible   not just winning but crushing his competition with big gaps to 2nd and 3rd......Todd Peltcher has been unconscious for the entire GP meeting popping with about 30 percent of the numerous horses that he has entered.......hard not to like

9  Mississippi   like when Mark Casse brings a well-bred horse around slowly and that is the case with this colt.........1st time blinkers today and his recent work regiment indicates it has made this colt even better........tough post to cope with........Leparoux will need to get clever

1  Strike Power

Long-shot consideration:   7  Hofburg   brutal trip to win and graduate off of a 6 month layoff.......the adjusted for trouble fig earned is much better than appears in print.......likely is more fit with that race under his belt.....and Mott seldom makes such a steep step up in class......bred to run all day......dangerous and at a price
