The race card today and Friday have a total of 7 grass races carded so with rain in the forecast I had to study for 7 races being taken off of the turf. So for both days only the top two horses will have comments because on some time constraints.
Best of luck as always!
race 1 average clarity
(if off the turf: 5-1-4-6-3)
5 S Y Sky yet to miss the board in 6 lifetime starts with earnings over 310,000 and won her lone turf race.......likes to stalk and should get that position today......Talamo knows her inside and out being aboard for all of her lifetime starts
4 Sensible Myth nice history at 5 and 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf as in 2 wins and 2 seconds in 6 starts at the abbreviated turf distances........only race at Del Mar on the sod was a better than it appears 2nd at 5 furlongs in her MSW debut
3 Ippodamia's Girl
1 Moon Kitty
6 Okinawa
race 2 average clarity
2 Lucky Royal Flush seems likely to have the best shot to snatch the lead and the 3 times that he was able to get it by even a nose it led to 2 wins and a second.......good speed rider in Mike Smith is up
6 Midnight Special on the improve with each and every race and if the trend continues today he might have as good a shot as anyone to take down this race.......rider upgrade to boot
1 Square Peggy
race 3 below average clarity
(if off the turf: 9-1-4-3-2)
4 R Cha Cha five furlongs of turf should be a good fit for this four-year old gelding who gets a little flat late in most of his races down the hill at SA........bug boy Figueroa has been a good fit and he remains up today
9 Aristocratic 1st time Prat and this gelding's (from the Miller barn) lone race run at 5F on the grass is a par like effort and it was run with jock who is less accomplished on the turf Flavien Prat......should be tough
1 Short of Oz
5 Allaboutmike
3 Doc Curlin
race 4 average clarity
3 Emotional Ride MC20K debut is much better than appears in print and when you adjust for his 6 or 7 lengths of trouble you get a par like number for today's higher MC50K level.......that and since his November 4th debut he has put in 2 sharp 4F works
8 Captain Buzzkill as in the "they aren't pets" (well sometimes they are) category this 10 race MSW runner has hardly earned his keep and drops into MC for the 1st time today to cut into the red ink.......1st on the dirt today but his pedigree for it and also for an off track is decent
4 Bless His Heart
1 Checks in the Mail
6 Lil Milo
race 5 average clarity
(if off the turf: 1-3-10-2-8-4)
3 Unusual Rider colt gets to run off of short rest for the 1st time today in his 3rd lifetime start......and since his 3 Nov. race he has been able to work twice.......he has run a little short of par in his 1st two lifetime grass races but he seems likely to move forward today......maybe all the way to the circle of joy
1 Mobou improving with each and every race all of which were dirt sprints.......pedigree for the grass and a route is good and the barn didn't shell out close to $400K to own a dirt sprinter
4 Red Clem
10 Offshore Affair
8 Unusual Angel
race 6 average clarity
7 Mongolian Groom both lifetime route races on the main track fit solidly here and one of them was run on a racetrack rated "good"........faced much better in his latest and was only beaten by 1 1/4L at 30 to 1 in a 7 horse field.......hard not to like
3 Oh Man three-year old gelding has been away since June and returns as a 1st time gelding.......and if his strong work regiment is any indication he has returned as a vastly improved dangerous individual
2 Tidal Effect
1 Ayacara
race 7 below average clarity
(if off the turf: 1-9-8-6-11)
6 Hot American lone win came the only time he competed in a claimer and it was in his MC50K debut.......up for a tag today.......and blinkers come off following two races with them on.......the 5 lifetime races with them off fit well here......trainer has had a fountain of youth rebound year
8 Rinse and Repeat only lifetime race on the sod fits well as does a change in riders to Bejarano......blinkers off likely to take back some which appears to be a good thing for him when examining his running lines
1 Wilshire Dude
9 Camino de Estrella
10 Offshore
race 8 average clarity
8 Shake N Fries nice forward move in his 2nd lifetime start.....that race might do the trick and if he manages another move in the desired direction he will be tough to overcome
7 Violent Behavior big awakening in his latest his 3rd lifetime start and two reassuring works since.......and if the track comes up off his pedigree to handle it is quite good
5 Tanker
10 Thin Line
1 Mad At Money
3 Suite Alonso
