race 1    average clarity

2  Boru   race lacks speed and this gelding has some and he is also sharp out of the gate........nearly hung on to win the 5 May version of this race which was at 9 furlongs and it was his 1st race following a year off.......should be more fit today and cuts back in distance......hard not to like

1  Aussie Fox  late running sort beat our top choice by a nose in his latest but had one furlong more to work with.......still he is the best of the off pace runners and he ran his lifetime best 2 back at one mile...... and ......the effort is disguised by a brutal trip

5  Conquest Smartee   five-year old is showing better early speed of late and is likely to sit much closer to the front in this race........and as mentioned above this race seemingly favor those that do

7  Time Is Now  SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE

race 2    average clarity

4  Tiz Coffee  seems like a good claim by Andrew Lerner who can do no wrong of late.........his new filly is very consistent racing on fast conventional dirt surfaces like SA.......that and she seems best races at 6 1/2F or 7F.......should be on or near the front end in a race that should favor those that are

2  Red Stitch  blinkers went back on this mare in her last following two bad efforts without them.......two nice drills since her latest which is quite a bit better than par......hard not to like

3  Ciao Luna   just snatched up at the claiming box by Mike Puype who is starting to heat things up a bit........believe his new filly will stalk our top selection and might have some good endurance down the stretch coming off two consecutive route races

race 3    average clarity

1  Tough It Out   both grass races since Sadler claimed are par like for today's level.....and unless you are a touring pro golfer par is a good thing........sharp reassuring a.m. work since her latest run on 20 April

4  Snazzy Dresser   looks loose on the lead here but Maldonado will likely need to really slow things down or this four-year old gelding will be fading badly in the late stretch as running as far as 9F isn't exactly his cup of tea

5  Twentytwentyvision  following two strong daylight wins this eight year went south in his latest 1st out following the Puype claim........needs a significant rebound.......it is encouraging that Puype is three for his last ten 2nd out after a claim with four others managing to hit the board

race 4    average clarity

6  El Vasco SCRATCHED OUT OF THE RACE  consistently solid drills for this R Mandella MSW 1st time starter especially when he has worked out of the gate.......hot rider/trainer combo in Prat/Mandella the last couple of months.......rather sure this one is meant and ready

2  Tilted Towers   D'Amato 1ster hasn't missed a beat in the morning dating back to March 24.....and take at look at his works since arriving at SA from Slr.......awfully good......another who seems ready at 1st asking

4  Comical Ghost   nicely bred colt debuts for Bob Baffert and company with a good set of works.......whats not to like

8  C Falls

5  Beleth

race 5    average clarity

7  Cono   four-year old ran some strong one mile grass races as a two-year for today's level......feel strongly that he has been set up with a route-sprint-route maneuver for today's race.....we shall see

8  Foster Boi   colt has been made favorite in all 3 of his lifetime races and has run well but still managed only one win......his latest was his 1st turf route and he would have won the 5 May version of this race if not for a slightly tardy beginning and a wide trip.......he had to deal with the other-most 7 post in the race......can Prat give a better trip this go around from the outer-most 8 post......we shall see

6  Juggles   O'Neill colt looks loose here thus dangerous......but take note that his turf pedigree is outstanding for a turf sprint and only average at best for a turf route

1  Rinses and Repeat

2  Unbridled Ethos

race 6    average clarity

4  King Jack  nicely bred Hollendorfer MSW 1st time starter is working as well as any 1st timer he has sent out for quite awhile.....and look who wants the mount......Mr Mike Smith......rather sure this guy is meant and ready

1  Morning Snow  Baffert sure appears to have this very expensive (considering his blood lines) colt all set to compete at a high level.....mostly placed 2nd because the one hole can sometimes be tough on a debut runner

5  Canadian Luck   believe this Cassidy 1st time starter was purchased with the grass in mind but he debuts on the dirt because his works are good on it........and the fact that Espinoza wants the mount supports the notion that this youngster likes the dirt despite a pedigree that screams turf

3  Music to My Ears

2  Moana Luna

race 7    average clarity

8  Hostess  poor trip in latest kept this three-year old filly from being a perfect 2 for 2 in the U S of A......and both races were Grade 3 affairs like today.......and her winning race two back is very strong and take note that it was at today's 9 furlongs

1  Lady Prancealot   lifetime best was run two back and the race was the only time this filly competed at 9F.......and liking the added distance made sense as she owns a very solid late kick

6  Maxim Rate  1st two lifetime grass races (one mile and 1 1/8 mile) were very solid efforts/figs that fit quite well here.......she did win a Grade 3 in her last but with a weak number......in other words she slipped some and still won.......likely needs a small rebound

3  Seranitsa

7  Sold It

race 8    above average clarity

2  Paradise Woods   terrific job of training by Shirreffs getting this mare turned around to what she was a couple of years ago......and her latest race was fantastic......she ran an effort/number that was off the charts.......and it seems especially significant that she did in on a very deep/slow SA main track which we should have today.......she can fall off about 5 lengths and still hammer these

4  Tapped  mare has only seem conventional dirt 4 times and has two wins and two 4th place finishes but those races were in Grade 1 affairs.....she should be motoring late

5  La Force   ran 2nd but 10 lengths behind our top pick in her latest but it was off of a layoff......so if she can move forward about 5L and our top choice bounce about 5L......presto......and upset

race 9    below average clarity

5  Apples Arch   both lifetime turf sprints for this O'Neill filly fit well here and today she gets a better rider up than she had for those two grass races.......needed her last and her solid gate work since hints the race tightened her up.....hard not to like

2  Mongolian Midnight   filly has been in training a very long time so she is likely fit enough for her MC debut.......that and mom has tossed 3 winners from 3 starters and 2 of them won on the grass.......should be a big price

3  Queen of Mean   over the years Glatt has been much more dangerous with the ladies making their maiden debut than the guys........three year old filly has a good turf pedigree and decent drills.......that and Van Dyke and Glatt have been a live combo lately

7  Cherished

9  Jaccat

1  Stop Analyzing
