Decent card to finish off the weekend.

Purchase for our special publication for Florida Derby day at Gulfstream Park (7 Stakes races only) on March 28th is now available. Best of luck as always!

race 1    below average clarity

5  Goalie   3 of 4 lifetime races on the grass fit fine in this spot and this colt should get a nice ground saving trip for most of the way........Prat taking the call for the 1st time hints this D'Amato colt has held form

3  Pure Carmine   went off at 78 to 1 in his MSW debut so that suggests Drysdale didn't have him all that cranked up but yet he showed plenty of life in his debut where he had a bad trip.........trainer is much more dangerous with 2nd time starters.........pedigree to handle another furlong of turf today is very solid

8  I'm Leaving You   very similar to our top selection as this three year old went off at 75 to 1 and showed life in the stretch despite a bad trip........mostly placed lower than our 2nd choice because he has been away for 4 months whereas our 2nd pick returns off of short rest

7  Heywoods Beach

1  Cool Runnings

race 2    average clarity

4  Afternoon Heat   very consistent Knapp colt has never missed the board in 8 starts and he appears to have a great spot here as there should be one fast pace up front to flatter his off pace style.......trainer is having one of his better SA meetings in quite some time

1  Gate Speed   Rosario looks like he took this gelding over our top choice (but do take note that Rosario's agent got his other rider Rispoli to ride our top pick-a-rue) but this four year old who appears to need the lead to win has other speed challengers outside of him.......but then again the abbreviated 5 1/2F sprint distance should help him last when push comes to shove in late stretch

3  Fratelli   crushed his competition in his debut (loose gate to wire) which was at the MC20K level and he was claimed by Mark Glatt........his new connections have had to wait 4 months to get him back to the races but Glatt is dynamite getting sprinters to run their best off of layoffs........Cedillo needs to avoid a suicidal speed duel as the 1 & 2 also have speed.......like his chances if he does

race 3    average clarity

6  Tiz Love   price shot is training exceptionally well for his 1st race in three months.......acts like a horse who appreciated a break after not getting one for a long time..........1st ever at 7F but the extended sprint distance might be a plus as he has earned decent figs running in route races.......that and he catches a soft looking open 10K claiming race

7  Papa Turf   the fact that Miller claimed a nine year old makes me think he believes the elder statesman must be relatively free of the many aches and pains a nine year old copes with........that and the crafty trainer realizes that "Papa" does his best running on the SA dirt

3  Shades of Victory   quite the drop down so you have to be a bit skeptical how this gelding's physical condition is right now........but.......with all the scrutiny of the horses these days I am less skeptical than I was in the past

1  Boy Howdy

race 4    average clarity

2  Colonial Creed   away from the game since 26 May but has run well fresh in the past.......very consistent when competing in one mile grass races.........Baltas filly has been facing better.......best grass rider to date in Rosario........solid gate horse should get great position on or near the lead........hard not to like

4  Dogtag   filly sure has the credentials to take down this affair but two things might be working against this Stakes winning turf filly........world's best turf trainer Chad Brown had this girl and Richard Mandella (fabulous in his own right) is only 1 for his last 23 the 1st out after he takes over a given horse.......dangerous but maybe a little over-bet

3  Bodhicitta   double barrel action for Richard Baltas as he also trains our top choice........filly is a perfect two for two racing at today's one mile turf distance at SA on firm turf........solid work tab......mostly placed as low as 3rd pick because the race shape seems to work against her late running style

7  Lakerball

5  Don't Blame Judy

race 5    average clarity

4  Pasito   lifetime best and a strong fit here was the only time this filly raced on the SA dirt she ran her lifetime best race (by far).......repeat of the race sure would be tough here if of course she can run as well around two turns which she should with a good route for it........and when Kruljac has legged up newcomer Rispoli his stock for the most part has been "very live"

2  Manresa   both lifetime route races are par like for today's MC20K.........filly would easily have been top choice but the trainer's 0 for his last 34 with runners returning off of 45 to 90 day layoffs is rather glaring

3  Kirsch Truffle   Miller four year old filly will need to build off of her latest as she earned a dull fig even taking into account some trouble.......maybe she will move forward with 1st time Prat and getting to run off of short rest for the 1st time in her career

6  Suezaaana

7  Vannavanna Bo Bana

race 6    average clarity

7  Media Blitz   bad trips in all three lifetime grass races.......mega rider upgrade in jocks today.........handles the 9F distance when many in here might not.......should be very tough to beat if this colt holds his form

4  Frasard   three year old colt had a brutal start to his race in his latest - toss it out........race two back at today's 9F distance he dueled in an unsustainable set of fractions and rightly tired.......might be loose here and if van Dyke can slow him down he might go.....................all....................the...................way

2  Capo Mafioso   no play on the board in dirt MSW debut at 12 to 1 (in a 4 horse field) and ran up the track.........returns 20 days later in a route turf race and look who is up - Mr Rosario........and when Baltas puts up Rosario in a grass race you better take note

1  Ekklesia

8  Cosmo

race 7    average clarity

1  Donna Veloce   best credentials in this Grade 3 by far.......Prat knows this three year old filly well being up for all three lifetime starts.......runs well on or off the lead..........easy to put on top

2  Gidgetta   nice move forward in her 2nd lifetime start and an improved work tab since the 20 Jan win to graduate.........trainer is awfully good at getting a given horse to go a route of ground for the 1st time.........Rosario stays put.........dangerous sort

3  Speech   big race in 2nd lifetime start........so.......expecting this filly to move forward 2nd out after a break today.........trainer is solid 1st time he sends a horse long.......but.......pedigree for a route isn't the hottest........somethings gotta give

race 8    average clarity

7  Successandsurpass   away since 30 November but his work regiment hints he is ready to roll fresh off of the bench.......both lifetime races at today's one mile turf distance are strong and one of them (4 races back) is disguised by a brutal trip........Prat is up for the 1st time and over the last two months when Prat teams up with Baltas it has led to three wins with the other two hitting the board

6  Coast of Roan   just fired his lifetime best off of relatively short rest of 28 days.........other lifetime win came off of 22 days rest .........so 22 days rest since his latest appears to be a plus........Rispoli stays put for a 3rd straight race to out if it is a "plus"

8  Dark Prince   won his last race and 1st on the grass when last seen in October of 2018 for fun.......returns as a 1st time gelding with your typical strong work regiment for Baffert.......dangerous sort

1  Southern King

5  The Street Fighter
