race 1    average clarity

7  Smoothlikebuttah   two year old filly broke about a dozen lengths slow in her MSW debut and yet she still closed well late to be only 5L behind the winner at the wire.......good striding sort......like her chances if she exits the metal monster OK this time around

6  Spicy Sommelier   rather sure this Peter Miller MSW 1st time starter is meant and ready for her debut......and right now it is hard to beat the Miller/Prat combo as they have won 12 of 19 over the last two months as a team

4  Mamba Queen   like that this 1st timer was just purchsed in March so the connections pretty much new what they were getting.......mom has tossed 4 winners from 4 starters...........1 for his last 35 jock G Franco sure could use a win

8  Reign of Fire

9  Big Andy

race 2    average clarity

5  Mucho Macho Woman   only lifetime "fresh" races for this four year all filly are noteworthy.......a better than it appears MSW turf sprint debut and a dirt sprint where she won by 9 1/2 lengths to win and graduate in a MC40K......that 9 1/2L win was run off of 3 months rest........last race 3 1/2 months ago

1  Smiling Annie   seems at her best 2nd out after a break and the is the case today......race two back fits and today's rider Abel Cedillo was up for the race

2  Hot On the Trail   trainer loves to gear up 2nd out after a claim as in 4 for his last 13 with the move.........filly is back quick today following a route turf race where she was blocked badly on the turn and the stretch........likely left something in the tank for today

race 3    average clarity

1  Manresa  exits a very fast MC20K where getting beat by 12L still worked out to be a decent final time.......Brice Blanc should be able to sit up close early saving ground and staying out of trouble.........2nd out after a break and with a nice 4F drill since her last on 22 May.......should be tough in this weak looking MC20K

6  Our Bonnie Lass   double barrel action as Thomas Bell trains both of our top two selections........this filly ran well with little support at the windows in her sprint debut...........might have always been pointed for her 2nd liftime start.......we shall find out if that is so about 2 p.m. pacific time

5  New Year New Me   our top choice beat her by 11L but the cut back in distance and 2nd time at a route should help her cause.....still she needs to improve significantly if our top choice runs the race that I think she will

race 4    average clarity

3  Worthy Turf   Prat should work out a great mid pack relaxed ground saving trip as the 1 and 2 are slower while the 4,5,6 are faster........and as mentioned in race one the Miller/Prat combo thru last Sunday have won 9 of 16 over the last two months as a team......hard not seeing this gelding tough here

5  Callaha   good time to get away with a drop into conditioned claiming following a dull effort on 21 March......sharp bullet 5F drill at Slr just 6 days ago......didn't hit the board in his two lifetime turf race efforts but he went off 59 to 1 in his MSW debut hinting the race was a tune-up.......then in a turf sprint he showed some life despite finishing 6th

6  Constitutuonaffair    very nice 1st on the grass on May 14th at GG to graduate in a MC20K running at the distance of 1 1/16.....and his two other lifetime route races which were on the SA dirt are not too shabby either.......should be in the hunt from the get go and likely will finish well with the cut back in distance 1 1/16 to 1 mile

race 5    average clarity

5  Blazing Charm   brutal trip for this three year old filly in her MC debut......broke 4 lengths slow and than ran wide in a race that yielded a pedestrian set of fractions.......did quite well to get up for 2nd........Prat stays put and will be out to make amends

7  Little Miss Ellie   Cerin is not much with 1st time starters (he sends out very few) but once in while he pops with one........work regiment hints this filly is meant and ready........that and Cedillo is up and the only time Cerin has used the jock over the last two months they won at a decent price

6  Instastory   heart breaker for TRD in this girl's debut as she just missed graduating as our 18 to 1 top selection.......she won't be 18 to 1 today

2  Queensbeccaandjane

race 6    average clarity

5  Principe Carlo   colt has out run his odds on numerous occassions and might once again in this spot........colt is extremely consistent racing at 6 or 6 1/2 furlongs........and he hardly ever gives in easily in the late stretch

1  Desert Law   Carla Gaines is only 2 for her last 46 with layoffs on 3 months or more but this gelding is training too well to ignore........and she is able to get Prat to ride.........if this six year old is fully fit he might be rated too low

3  Oliver   not bred for the sod and he has never run well on the it so consider his latest nothing more than a muscle him up gimme........needs his effort 5 back which was the last time he sprinted at SA albeit at 7F

race 7    below average clarity

6  Kris' Wild Kat   not much in turf routes so that hints her layoff race on May 16th is nothing more than a muscle her up endurance building run........she should be primed to run a top effort back in a turf sprint.......and the fact that Prat stays put supports that notion

4  Fratelli  if this Mark Glatt four year old gelding can duplicate either one of his two lifetime dirt races on the turf today he has as good a shot as anyone to wind up in the circle of joy........pedigree for the sod is average at best

2  Handsome Cat   appears very sharp right now (on the SA dirt) for Matt Chew and company and now switches to the turf........both lifetime races on the grass are dull.......but........he was laid up a long time following his 1st grass race hinting he was hurt in the race and when he returned 1/2 year later he was dead on the board hinting the 5 1/2F turf race was a gimme

race 8    average clarity

5  Been Studying Her   three year old filly is (4 3 0 1) in sprint races........she has never raced at today's 6 1/2 panels but her lifetime best was run the only time she raced at 7F and the race stands out here........Prat wisely stays put

1  Gingham   (6 2 4 0) in one mile dirt races but nowheresville at the distance of 1 1/16..........in his one mile races he was in front at the 6 1/2F mark of the race in three of the races........so that bodes well for his chances of handling his 1st lifetime sprint especially one at 6 1/2 furlongs

3  Praise and Honor  $330K purchase won his MSW debut on the all weather at GG for Wong and company........Wong is an impressive (5 3 0 1) at SA since the reopening.......filly owns a pedigree that is favorable for the conventional dirt

race 9    average clarity

6  Dark Hedges   all 3 lifetime conventional dirt races since Andrew Lerner took over the training of this four year old fit solidly at today's level of racing.........latest on the grass appears to be nothing more than a muscle him up tune-up in a protected race to be fit and ready for today's drop down......last win was the last time this fellow was up for a tag.....and the same 16K tag as today

2  Little No Way   lifetime best was produced the lone time that this six year old raced at today's 7F distance in a race at GP........the race was run turf to dirt.......turf in last and 7F of dirt today........drops a couple of levels.......Prat stays put.......hard not to like

3  Lil Sydney   nice forward move in his latest wearing blinkers for the first time when competing on the dirt.........needs to build on the effort.........fits if he does

7  More Honor

5  Will Dancer
