3/28/2010We usually put up our highlights in a particular fashion but today we would like to spotlight the often overlooked value in straight, or almost straight, wagers. Here are some stats from last week, Mar 24th to Mar 28th. On 38 possible straight doubles we made a profit of 36%. On 33 possible straight pick 3′s we made a profit of 12%. On 43 possible straight trifectas we made a profit of 44%.  On 43 possible straight exactas we made a profit of 52%. And on 43 possible exacta boxes of our top two picks we made a profit of 67%. But of course this is a small sampling so it is a great time to post our Hollywood stats from their Fall Meeting which we are extremely proud of. In fact, in the 2 1/2 years of doing the selections for The Racing Digest, (formerly Martin Dermers Racing Digest) I would say that the Hollywood stats last Fall and our perfect 8 for 8 top choice winners on 8 May 2008 match up equally as our most satisfying handicapping endeavors the last 2+ years.
