Fabulous Saturday race-card as far as quality is concerned. As far as a playable betting card I'd rate it a little above average.
Â
Race 1Â Â average clarity
2 Tale Of The bat  1ster has a decent work series for a barn that's hot.....barn has had success with new sire and mom's been a decent producer so far
1 Kim's Leading Lady  woke up in latest back in a sprint after 2 lackluster route races...hopes to keep the trend going
8 Chimu  small barn has had a very good meet....barn has a weak history with 1st time starters but 3 of last 4 works are from the gate...seems well meant in debut
3 Blackman Bay  on the right end of the learning curve and seems to like the 5 1/2 F distance
Â
Race 2Â Â Â average clarity
2 Boyoboy  impressive win 1st time on the SA synthetic....see few reasons he can't repeat his last performance
5 One Vote  blistering 5/8ths drill 2 weeks ago...not too cocerned about a couple of weeks off.....has been facing better
7 I Wanna Go Fast  nice animal since blinkers on.....seems like 7 F should be a plus
Â
Race 3Â Â Â average clarity
6 Macias  won his only grass race which was at a route.....solid sprints on the AW....solid work tab...seems poised for a big sprint grass effort
1 Marcello  solid fig in only grass race.......works from Baffert say ready to roll....should fly late
4 Ace Of Aces  in good route turf form in the good old U S of A.......only ran in Ireland was an impressive grass sprint at 2...good chance will handle the SA hill
Â
Race 4 above average clarity
1 Blind Luck  smooth runner has been my pick from day one.....she is something special and really showed it last time
4 Switch  tactically I believe she will try to chase the 6 horse....put her away...then try to hold off our top pick
5 La Nez  consistent late runner will be putting in her consistent closing effort
Â
Race 5Â below average clarity
1 Sandy Cheeks  rather consistent 4 race career and training up to snuff...1st on the sod but bred to handle the it
3 Great Atlantic  chased a fast pace and tired in a only turf race which was at a route...better effort than it looks on paper....seems better suited for a turf sprint
6 Punctual  speed of the speed here...will attempt to wire most likely....1st turf race...new sire is tossing out turf runners at a high rate so far
8 Roman Charity  sharp work series for 1st attempt on the sod....OK turf pedigree....good rider for the hill course
Â
Race 6Â Â Â average clarity
1 Dave In Dixie  earned a solid route fig at 2 and it was at SA.....excellent aggressive tightly spaced work series should have this colt get ready to roll
2 Tiz Chrome  love these Baffert / Sadler battles with young quality horses.....Baff's charge looks loose and must be caught
3 American Lion  very solid sprint efforts......bred to get a rout of ground and has top connections to get the mission accomplished
Â
Race 7Â Â Â average clarity
5 Big Wig  nice improvement 2nd out after a prolonged layoff.....work regiment is improving..... seems to appreciate the 1 mile distance.....should sit close up
4 Becrux  overdo drop for the classy old-timer......last 2 efforts fit fine......the rest of his career efforts would take care of these...does this 8 year old much left in him?
3 Rumba Along  extremely consistent horse especially at the 1 & 1 1/16 mile distances...good post, rider and tactical speed
10 Bonjour  Knapp barn is ice cold and could use a win so this gelding takes a significant drop after the layoff.....and why not drop a 10 year old gelding
Â
Race 8Â Â Â above average clarity
3 St Trinians   most impressive in all 3 USA races....should get a good stalking position....love the strong breezes....in 7 lbs less than the morning line favorite
8  Life Is Sweet   life sure was sweet without her stablemate Zenyatta in the B C Classic for F & M's.....recent SA track bias aiding speed types sure is different than the SA she knows....either way she should be tough but she sure could that easy to close at SA syntheticÂ
5 Zardana  strong surprising Grade 2 win in last chasing a solid pace and winning going away.....can be in the drivers seat at the top of the stretch on the leadÂ
4 Mushka  consistent closer has trained sharply at a world class training center for this affair...only lost to #8 by a couple at equal weights....now carries 7 lbs less than her
Â
Race 9Â Â above average clarity
7 Acclamation  does Flores ever owe this nice colt a good ride...multiple bad trips in a row.....monster run last way wide close up on solid pace...can get a good stalk positionÂ
1 Misremembered  training terrific....top connections...should also get a nice stalking position
2 Massone  very consistent closer has never trained better...good turf to AW history and that's what we have here
6 Heavenly Wind  what a difference a few days can make....this speed-ball invader would have had zero shot in this spot any other week of the meet but this one
Â
Race 10Â Â average clarity
3Â Royal F JÂ Â 2 of this geldings 3 grass races are overwhelming figs on Top Turf Today...very tough to beat if we see that today
2 Duke Of Aspen  red hot barn...sizzling work.....and decent grass breeding
1 Royce  sharp sprint AW run off of the layoff in last.....retains Gomez for 1st route run...1st grass run....decent turf breeding...trainer is good 1st time turf
5 Line Of David  good speed and blinkers on today...looks like a wire attempt in 1st lifetime grass run
11 Saw Perfection  solid turf run in last...would have rated higher if it wasn't for the difficult post at a mile
