Handicappers Corner

Lots of quality today. Be careful because there is rain predicted for the afternoon. Watch for any bias that may develop and of course any changes.

In review of the races I suggest playing the top pick 1st and 2nd or 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the exacta's and/or trifecta's in all the races

Race 1    average clarity

5  Screen Gem   flashed solid speed 3 of the last 4 races....Smith will be out to do what he does best...wire the field

1  Blue Tambourine   nice maiden claiming debut and so the barn steps way up.....bad trip...strong stretch.....works are better as well

4  Initial Impression   sat in the rear in both lifetime races and they totally lacked any pace......switches to the AW but is training great on it

3  No Mistress   both lifetime races are par for the level...laid up but works say she's ready

race 2    average clarity

7  Shine'n Time   on the right end of the learning curve.....solid work tab and Smith has fit this horse well

1  Seedless   blinkers off and a solid 6F bullet says this filly likes the equipment change...may fire best ever

2  Euro Gal   red hot trainer/rider combo......only win with today's rider...likes the SA Pro-ride surface

5  Phoenician Star   competitive in both lifetime starts...needs to move forward some...very solid barn to get that done

race 3   slightly above average clarity

4  Krakow Queen   flashed good speed in debut...can move forward and wire today with a good speed rider aboard

14  If You Knew Susie   race 2 back fits fine.....back has woken up some the last couple of weeks

5  Girlwithegoldhoof   close interval works series says Eurton is probably ready with this 1st timer...came thru for us with a 1ster a few days ago

6  Diva Gone Wild   useful debut andthese kind almost always move i the right direction for the Kruljac barn

race 4    average clarity (turf or AW)

8  Yodelen Dan   breeding says he shouldn't look these marathon distances....his races say totally different

1  Zappa   also has nice history at the marathon distances...Sadler is having a great meet...what's new

6  El Indy   new barn takes over and they get what he likes....1 1/2 miles on the grass or the synthetic

5  Troubletimesthree   closed into a soft pace that he couldn't catch 2 back at today's distace...hoping for more pace today

race 5    slightly above average clarity

1  Patriotic Soldier   horse has more speed then shows on paper....Smith will be sending

4  E Z's Gentleman   nice move forward 2nd out for the new top barn.....3rd out might be the charm...can sit close

6  Bad Boy   very consistent sort has won his last 4 one turn 6 1/2 furlong races

8  Afleet Ruler   long long hiatus from the track but it sure is hard to ignore 6 straight bullet drills

race 6    average clarity  (turf or AW)

3  Macias   Baff finally has a good young grass horse......strong fit short in last and bred to be every bit as good going long....1 for 1 at today's distance

7  Make Music For Me   AW figs fit fine in 4 of his last 5 races.....bred to handle the grass......one of the best maidens in the US of A.....220K and still a maiden

2  Get A Grip   hard check early and no pace up front to recover.....clean trip today will make him a player

4  Alfarabi   Gomez sticks with the horse...very consistent...will need some pace to run at...whens the last time Gomez lost 3 stretch duels as he did yesterday?

race 7    average clarity

7  Setsuko    very impressive colt in his last 2 races on 2 different surfaces...sure should appreciate the 1 1/8 mile distance

3  Outlaw Man   strong grass fig in breaking his MSW in last...bred well enough to handle the AW and should be very fit for the step up

2  The Program   should be prominent thru-out....Martin had a great week milking speed types to the wire

10  Alphie's Bet   big winning run in last 1st time with blinkers with a big close into little pace...training great for a small but very reliable small outfit

race 8    above average clarity

5  Blind Luck   as I've said before I've selected her on top from her very 1st race in S Cal and there is no reason to stop now...back to 1 1/16 will help her kick

4  All Due Respect  not a lot of speed of her type in here....may pull the upset if she handles the synthetic...sure has worked well on it albeit at Hollywood

7  Cozi Rosie   on the improve with every start and hopes and needs the trend to continue

6  Warren's Jitterbug   has had the trips from you know where in almost every race she's run...can be a shocker if she and the rider cooperate

race 9    average clarity

5  Ever A Friend   3 for 3 on the SA grass course...power back numbers on Top Turf  Today....and appears to be rounding back into top form

9  Fluke   enough tactical speed to get on over for this highly competitive animal....has been training nicely for an extended period

4  Acclamation   very consistent under bet  horse finally gets another rider...should be prominent from the get go

8  Proviso   strong 7F 2nd place Grade 1 sprint and solid works since should have this Mott trainee at her best to face the males

race 10    average clarity

2  St Trinians   keeps crushing her own sex and now gives the males a try...should get the same solid stalk/ponce position as she's been getting...smart move to avoid Zenyatta and run here for more money

5  Eagle Poise   bang up races last Fall to finish up the year.....way wide in last compromised her chances...my fig fits and she's traing great...price - a -roo

6  Loup Breton   grass efforts sure fit...can he do the same on the AW?

10  Tiger's Rock   shipper is very sharp and dangerous in this spot

race 11    average clarity

14  The Final Roar   Miller drops to get to the desired circle of fun....he's tough with this kind

10  Hovig

6  Mat The Maiter'd

4  Sheeky

13  Objectified
