Handicappers Corner
Welcome to our three week old website that is here to stay for a very long time. We are excited to announce that we now own Top Turf Today which we have been using for the past 3 years for our source for superior figures and trip notes on California grass races. Our handicapper does the figure making for Top Turf Today so obviously his knowledge of it's use is at the highest level. Quite a plus for The Racing Digest members.
If anyone has interest in purchasing Top Turf Today it can be purchased at 1/2 the regular price if you are a current or fairly recent "Digest" member.
Top Turf Today is only useful to folks who have at least an average level of handicapping ability. It is not a selection service like this publication.
We would appreciate it if any of you know any trainers, owners, or handicappers to please let them know about Top Turf Today. We feel strongly it would help them immensely. And it is a bargain compared to similar products that are out there.
Recommended pick 3 part wheels starting in the 5th
7, 8 with 1, 6, 7, with 1, 4   Â
7, 8 with 1, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 with 1, 4     40 bets total  Â
Â
race 1Â Â Â slightly above average clarity
6 Melbisha  on the improve with every start and French puts J Garcia up who has won 2 of his last 3 mounts for him....strong reassuring works since her last
7 Miss Celebration  barn likes to fire best with short rest so this girl's last race in MSW at a route sure looks like the gimme to drop and be full throttle back in a sprint for today
2Â Miss Olivia KÂ Â both lifetime races fit fine in this spot.....should get reasonably good position on or near the lead
3 Kiss'em For Me  filly has done little wrong in 3 lifetime sprints....will need more pace than anticipated to show her best
Â
race 2Â Â Â average clarity
6 Pink Diamond  both lifetime sprints on the synthetic fit is this spot......barn is waking up.....ran 2nd to a basically an unbeatable foe in last
1Â Yodelady OÂ Â filly runs best at today's 6 furlong distance....race 2 back is a very solid number.....needs to overcome a tendency to hang in late stretch
4 What's The Prize  10 lb apprentice should be able to fly on this quick early ship in......likely loose here and has a shot to go...........all...........the...........way
Â
race 3Â Â Â average clarityÂ
6 The Legal Blonde  filly is in good form and back quick which is usually a good thing for the C Lewis barn.......route to 7F is often a positive move for a sprinter
4 Irish Pepper  last two efforts are better than par for this bottom maiden level....Bejarano gets his 4thtry in a row with this girl
1Â Sh Sh Shakin'Â Â barn and rider teamed up to score at 51 to 1 (proud to say we had the bomber in our selections) and this 5 year old maiden earned a strong fig with a wide run in her only start back in early Dec.....same race with a better trip would be very competitive here
5 Simply Put  failed as heavy favorite on the big drop down....but.....may move forward 2nd out after the layoff
Â
race 4Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
7 Sleep Tight  very nice works from Sadler since the claim from Mitchell for this 5 year old mare....proven turf sprinter is bred to handle 1 mile on the sod
6 Victoria Reel  last 6 of 7 grass races fit well in this spot......Gomez is up and this filly is very sharp in her recent works
3 Lilly Fa Pootz  signs point to this mare preferring the grass over the main track....last two efforts on the AW are 2 of her strongest ever on the main track....back to the grass...big potential to fire best ever
Â
race 5Â Â Â average clarity
8 She's Not Lion  strong move forward in 2nd lifetime race sprinting and now goes long.......barn....rider.....and breeding.... all say that 1st route endeavor won't be a problem
7 Silver Heart  powerful works and light weight apprentice up on seemingly the best speed in the race say here's your wire to wire attempt
3  Torrey Cliffs  consistent sort on the turf or the AW should be motoring late
1 Twistnthenightaway  wide trip in last hides this one's move forward somewhat.....more than 2 months off but last week's 6F bullet drill capped off a nice preparatory work series
Â
race 6Â Â Â below average clarity
1 Bring It Home  prefers route racing and signs point to this gelding especially liking the 1 mile distance he runs today...barn is solid 2nd out after the layoff which is today's scenario
6 Norvsky  6 for 6 on the board lifetime and the one to beat if he brings his "A" game today
7 Worth Repeating  2nd to a very tough foe in last.....seemingly improving with every start regardless of the time between races
9 Concerto's Thunder  good history when the barn steps this consistent horse up in class....should fire a strong effort but sure does like to hang
Â
race 7Â Â Â average clarity
4 Canonize  tons of ability and training like a good thing...especially big efforts at today's 6F distance
1 Charm N Chuck  very sharp in the morning...red hot trainer/rider combo....should get a nice stalking position and possibly behind a speed duel
6 Moblilized  hard to ignore 3 for 3 in the win column sprinting on the AW.....late runner should be flying late
Â
race 8Â Â Â slightly below average clarity
5 Kazroad  marked improvement in latest which was in a sprint.....very solid if she can duplicate that effort in today's route run
8 Glass Of Red  last looks like the obvious sprint turf gimme to be fit enough to handle a route grass run today
6 Coracao Beijo  75 % of the dozen grass races this consistent filly has run fit well in this spot
3 Super Sophie solid close into a soft pace 5 weeks ago in today's same race condition....should be motoring late once again
1, 1a ENTRY   both 1/2's of the entry have some shot at being competitive in this spot
